New Composite Bracelet on GW-B5600MG Bluetooth G-Shock Square (Replacing Original Watch Band/Strap)

  • A few months ago I bought a genuine Casio bracelet from Watchway.co.uk to go with my G-Shock AWG-M100 watch. Later, I decided that I wanted to replace the standard, resin watch band (or strap) on my GW-B5600MG watch with a genuine Casio bracelet too. So I went back to Watchway.co.uk and found the match to the bracelet which came with another one of my Bluetooth G-Shock Square watches. In this video I'll show you how I went through the steps to remove the old watch band and install this new bracelet on my watch.
I should note that in the days since I recorded this video I've been increasingly impressed with the way this new bracelet has transformed this watch. I liked the watch before but now I REALLY like it! The watch feels great on my wrist and I think it looks absolutely fantastic now.
I should also note that, while this is a do-it-yourself project, it can be a little bit frustrating. It's fairly easy to take the original watch band off of a G-Shock Square and it's easy to remove links from this bracelet in order to make it the right size for your wrist. But installing this bracelet onto a G-Shock can be slightly more difficult. I recommend patience and the right tools for the task. In this video the only tool I used was a small spring bar tool with a v-shaped tip on one end and a pointed tip on the other.
While I recommend this same bracelet if you plan to change out the original watch band on your Bluetooth G-Shock Square watch, keep in mind that you can also use Casio's genuine "Combi" bracelet and there are third-party copies or that bracelet (made of lighter material and with a much lower price) which are made in China. I installed the low-priced, third-party alternative on a GW-M5610 watch several months ago and it seems to be holding up well. But I still prefer the look, feel and build quality of the genuine Casio bracelets.
The Watchway.co.uk website lists the "Combi" bracelet as "G-Shock Bracelet 10440758" while the composite bracelet I installed in this video is listed as "G-Shock Bracelet 10575397".
If you would like to watch my In Depth review of the GW-B5600MG watch featured in this video (when it had its original, resin watch band) then you'll find it here... • Everything I Know Abou...

I just bought the Midnight Green, my first G-Shock, and put it on the original combi braclet and I absolutely love it!! So comfortable and I enjoy the rugged look. I was between holes on the stock strap and couldn't get a reasonable fit. I usually wear automatic three handers but needed a grab and go for heavier impact tasks. And yes your reviews were very helpful in making my choices!!

The resin bands on my first Casio’s from the 1980s would wear out after just a few years. Today’s resin bands are better. But if I step up to a bracelet I never look back.

I did the same mod. Installed a CB V2 on a Midnight Green G-Shock. I took it to a jeweler, though ($10). I also bought a Chinese CB and installed it on a GST-B200B. It's an Ok fit. Now, the Chinese CB's don't have the rubber protector on the clasp; they have three micro-adjusting holes instead of four; they use friction pins instead of mini springbars and they don't have metal inserts in the links. Other than that, they're the same as the OEM ones.

In my country it costs € 145 and up which is ridiculous ( Even with the extra costs it's cheaper anywhere else than in your own country ) Put a compo bracelet om my AWGM100. I just picked up a Protrek PRT-B70 (blue version) for like 100 bucks off on Amazon. I don't know if you're still into protreks but damn it's a cool watch. My only gripe is that I wish it was solar. Otherwise, I think it's the most full-feature Protrek they've ever made and it only cost me about $230 Canadian.
Now it does list the watch as a fishing watch but you can remove those features through the Bluetooth app if you don't want to use them.

This bracelet is just too expensive! For that price we should get strapcode 316L stainless steel level bracelet! Not sure it's worth it. Hope Casio make these bracelets more accessible or at least should make them easier to get.

I've ordered cheap 20 dollar ones from aliexpress to test it out before I take the plunge on an expensive one but I have a feeling I'm going to need to buy 2 cause I asked them to include extra links (I've got big wrists) and they never got back to me.
