I don't understand why people hate or even dislike Return of the Jedi.
@@KardboardKenny Much like Michael, Return of the Jedi was my first Star Wars movie experience and the Ewoks were not bad enough to make me dislike or hate the movie. As a four year old, I actually liked the Ewoks.
I don't understand either. Perhaps it's because instead of Ewoks it was supposed to be a tribe of Wookies. Anyway, I enjoyed the originals.
@@KardboardKenny I understand. As I got older I feel the same way. It's a shame they did not bankroll the wookie army.
It's the one I rewatched the most as a kid.
My Favourite!!
When Leia gets to do some serious ass-kicking.
Something Else about Leia , too.
Take a wild guess.........
You forgot the MASTERPIECE that is "THE HOLIDAY SPECIAL"
Caravan of Courage will ALWAYS be the real episode 7.
@@EricVornoff What about The Battle For Endor?
I think both Ewok movies had theatrical releases somewhere in the world, so they totally count. :)
You can't lose when you've got Bea Arthur.
@@damientaylor7480 that's the better episode 8
Natalie Portman’s midriff was the best part of Attack of the Clones.
“I’m taking them... to imprison them... in prison.” -K2S0
The lightsaber battle wasn't grounded enough?
*_Impossible!_*
They had the high ground.
i think the grounding was really high
I was 6 when I saw ROTJ and like you one of my favorite parts was the fight over the sarlacc pit. Behind our kindergarten school was a huge sand Pit that everyone pretended to fall down and eaten by the creature. The nun had no idea what we were doing and was watching us with great confusion and awe. Every time my friends and cousins talk about it we laugh so hard. When I took my nephew to see force awakens and last Jedi I had hoped he would see something that he would remember like I did. But unfortunately not. It is a shame. But when I told him about that sand pit he laughs and calls me a dork. I tell him yes I am! Also more BV!!!
Seeing Obi-Wan and Anakins relation in Clone Wars makes me rather sad we don’t get to see much of it in Attack of the Clones, it would have made the characters a lot more enjoyable at least.
Clone Wars should have been Episode 2, the Phantom Menace is just so detached from the rest of the trilogy that I feel like it should have been a side story.
That way we would have had one over arching Darth Vader like villian throughout the prequels, we would have gotten Anakin the war hero and the relationship between him and Obi Wan developed more so it has more weight when it all falls appart, and General Grevious wouldn't have been a total joke.
To me it always felt like the Clone Wars were what formed that friendship between Obi Wan and Anakin.
We get some of it. The only problem is that they're apart for most of the film
@@williamcronshaw5262 Right but Ashoka ruins it from a canon and lore perspective because it's only a 3 yr period of time.
Honestly I like some aspects of Clone Wars but I prefer the Genndy one for making Grievous more dangerous.
Rogue one is the best of the newer films.
For those blinded by nostalgia, anyway. Still, it was a fairly good film, but it could have been better in places.
@@ReluctantWarrior I agree Erik and I don't care about nostalgia, what I care about is a story, and interesting characters. Last Jedi was the worst because it was subversive trash, reinventing a franchise does not mean destroying the foundation it was built on, that is what people with no imagination and daddy issues do. People that can only destroy, not create.
YES. For me it's the characters. I felt myself connect with them a bit more. Idk
@@provisionalhypothesis Its ok the DT is garbage dude just because it made the prequels look better doesnt mean you have to die on the cross for it
I like the final third of Rogue One .I dislike how the 2nd act is a remake of the first act - Rebels drag Jyn to planet to get info on Death Star, place is attacked, father/father figure dies, place blows up and they escape. The 2nd act is also entirely redundant. Nothing happens there that has any bearing on the plot AT ALL (note: Jyn's dad dying affects the plot about as much as Walrus Man having his arm chopped off affects the plot of Star Wars). Also, it's the Rebel attack that kills Galen - you'd think Jyn would be kinda mad at the Rebels for that...
Now I need a 'Cosplay Uncle Owen' action figure. There's no way around it.
MAYBE that crazy old man's just a wizard? ; )
1977 Star Wars will always be my favorite. I was 10 when I saw it in the theater, and my life was changed forever as soon as I walked out of the theater.
I love rogue one. I felt like it had more weight to it than the entirety of this sequel trilogy. Getting the death star plans to the rebels just as darth is cutting them down one by one? Badass. As for the OG trilogy, for all the reasons you gave, return of the jedi's just MY personal favorite
Only problem is that it doesn't really line up with Star Wars.
@@OpenMawProductions how does it not line up with Star Wars?
Yeah I really like Rogue One. Its not perfect, not by a long shot, but I actually like how it recontextualized the OG Star Wars in a meaningful way by making the really convenient flaw in the Death Star a purposeful sabotage by a rebellion sympathizer within the Empire. I would've actually LOVED a slow burn, political thriller about Galen Erso trying to manipulate the construction of the death star to his advantage while trying to remain under the radar of his superiors. But what we got is fine too, because that space battle is second only to RotJ, its genuinely spectacular. Yeah the characters feel undercooked and kind of flat, but they were all likeabke in some way, especially k2so. It has plot problems but it seems like a movie made for fans who genuinely cared about the story of the original.
@@samgilley3160 It's not a really convenient flaw, and I don't get where people get that notion from, or why it needed to be addressed.
It's a tiny, small, miniscule little exhaust port surrounded by guns, on a moon sized object. It's like trying to find one small carter amidst a sea of craters on the surface of the moon and hitting it with a bullseye. It was NEVER a "Convenient" target.
@@OpenMawProductions
I disagree, I don't think it NEEDED to be addressed. I just think it's a neat recontextualization. It was kinda convenient that shooting a small exhaust port could blow up a station the size of a small moon. Its not a huge flaw or anything but I think its silly to pretend it isn't a tad convenient.
I loved all the prequels and revenge of the sith was my favorite! This coming from a 55 year old man who saw the original trilogy in the theaters as they were meant to be seen!
That’s really interesting because I’ve heard a lot of fans say that the only reason people like the prequels is because they grew up watching them/nostalgia, but you’re someone who has seen both trilogies in theaters. What exactly do you like about the prequels?
revenge of the sith is easily a top 3 star wars film..this dude has no taste...despite its flaws it has so much action quotes memes plot and fanservice ..how can you not enjoy it?...that seems really dumb to say its your least favorite prequel..its easily the best thin since return of jedi came out in this franchise
I'm 52 now so can relate totally. I saw Star Wars 17 time in the cinema as a 9yr old. I too loved the prequels and like them equally.
The sequels had amazing props, costumes, ships, etc. but were crap.
Prequels are not understood by people and Hayden acting is bad people say he trying do a vader and Anakin together at some parts and his acting was pretty good episode 1 not great episode 2 ight Episode 3 is the best
TimeWarpDrive 77 I know but Disney has good leaders which is Jon And Dave
Empire is my favorite, Star Wars, my second and ROTJ 3rd.
Same, and if I had to choose a 4th it would be Rogue One
I really liked the point you brought up about the costume design for the Jedi in the prequels. Admittedly, it was my first time hearing that argument, and I thought it made a lot of sense. That concept art for how the Jedi could've looked in the prequels would've been so gratifying to see on screen, and added a more nuanced layer of cohesion between the prequels and the original trilogy, rather than just copying Obi-Wan's desert robes. He was in hiding during the original films after all, and even taking the extra precaution of using a pseudonym, so it doesn't make sense narratively for his character to undermine that by continuing to dress exactly like a Jedi. The only problem is, now that it's been brought to my attention, I'll never be able to unsee it!
Eh, yoda was also dressed in those brown and tan robes and so was anakin at the end of return of the jedi.
I remember in school one day, my English teacher asked us to give a short history of the Star wars movie stories, one student began to speak and said "In episode 1 The Phantom Menace--" and he just looked at him shook his head and said "No." Then he asked another student the same question and said "In Star Wars Episode 4 A New Hope" Our teacher nodded in admiration and smiled. Respect for the real start of the movies.
There are numbers for a reason, can't knock that kid too much....
Never liked the fact they made the battle droids act goofy in Revenge of the Sith. That definitely could've been left out. I get they wanted comic relief in an otherwise darker movie, but c'mon. Also I feel Clone Wars makes up for the "buddy cop" dynamic missing from Attack of the Clones, but I agree it would've made sense to have it.
I’ve been told that in the lore, the reason the battle droids “act goofy” is because they were becoming more autonomous, but I get what you’re saying. I was 6 when I saw Revenge of the Sith in theaters, and even I thought it was weird that they talked and acted goofy...
There's an explanation for it in clone wars
@@coleschubert9868 You're definitely right about that of course, and it made that aspect of the movie make more sense, it was just really offputting the first time I saw it when it first came out.
I concur...he was trying too hard for comic relief
I'm taking them to imprison them in Prison - K2SO😂
The Anakin Tusken camp scene should have continued by pulling the camera back until all you are seeing is Anakins Blue Lightsaber flashing around the camp.
My favourite lightsaber fight was the one in ESB. The tension and the drama, with Vader being at his most sinister.
TPM and ROTJ I think both have the best lightsaber duels.
Also literally the most realistic of the duels from a fencing/sword play perspective.
Gotta respect that Prince reference. Well done 😂
26:17 "Raspberry Beret" cover. Kind of. Kylie dug Prince. So tenuous link there too!
Is this user Melinda Mock of Retroblasting? If so I apologize for asking I was just curious.
@@Veritech2011 yes, it's her
The real question is was Prince referencing The Incredible Hulk when he says his boss was Mr. McGee?
@@awesomefanger You know what?
In all the times I heard the song,
that NEVER entered my mind.
Something to ponder.
Luke wears that outfit in RotJ, because it's reminiscent of a priest.
Priests don't wear black. They wear white.
What difference may it be? Black, white? You can invert the colors of both & same color underneath. Edit.
If you're priest; do you wear white? Represent the light of God? Or black represent the result of darkness. Death. You wear black if someone has died, you wear white portray the ensemble of lords light. Angels wear white, demons are black. Or may I say red.
I have never seen a priest wear a thing like Luke's black costume. It more looks like a dignitary, stuffy, no frills, tailored.
It doesn't make me think of any spiritualist ether. Just clothes that could be worn anywhere and not be noticed. What are they doing, trying to not be seen.
In theory I like the gesture of restoring the Lightsaber, but Rey really should have gotten her own Lightsaber. It's so weird that she is still using Ankin/Lukes first Lightsaber, her making her own would have meant so much more to her character.
Another cool thing about AOTC is the detective work that Obi-Wan does. It's not just fetching or blowing things up.
Now say something nice about the 2 Ewok TV movies. AND the Holiday Special. I DARE YOU!
The ewoks movies and hoilday specail was better than last Jedi by far....there

These are the things I could say nice about every Star Wars movie:
1. The Phantom Menace...Darth Maul introduction. He looks so cool and far more menacing than Palpatine!
2. Attack of the Clones...Purple light saber!!! You go, Master Windu!
3. Revenge of the Sith...Amydala giving birth to twins without Darth Vader and Palpatine knowing about it.!
4. A New Hope...Princess Leia rules!! Even Darth Vader was not able to break her will and scan her brain!
5. The Empire Strikes Back...Darth Vader's "I am your father!" reveal!
6. Return of the Jedi...The feeling of enjoyment seeing cute and cuddly teddy bears defeat a far more advanced military!
7. The Force Awakens...uhh, let's just say BB-8 will do!
8. The Last Jedi...Yeah, I agree with Mike with regards to Rei's costume!
9. The Rise of Skywalker...The diabolical laugh of Palpatine!
10. Solo: A Star Wars Story...the last gambling scene wherein Han wins the Millennium Falcon!
11. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story...Donnie Yen's dialogues are gold!
I can't wait for Mike's "Saying something worse about every Star Wars movie".

I think he gave more positives that most people can say about last jedi. Tbh I have nothing but respect for this man and this channel hes a legend here on CZcams
Another thing that some people find good about “Attack of the clones” are the kaninoan, the long neck aliens that made the clones, apparently some people found them kind of hot and sexy, I even remembered someone confessing that they got a quote:
“Must admit I got a rather embarrassing bulge the very first time I saw the Kaminoans watching "Attack of the Clones" in a theater.”
Still not as embarrassing as people getting turned on watching the Rancor eat a Gamorrean guard in Return Of The Jedi, I suppose.
Yep

Something nice about every Star Wars movie:
Episode 1: Charming
Episode 2: Mysterious
Episode 3: Dramatic
Episode 4: Inspiring
Episode 5: Shocking
Episode 6: Climactic
Bravo to you sir! I applaud your positivity and good will!
"Laaaast Jedi figure of Rey/The one that's filled all the secondhand stores!" Now that song is forever in my head, haha!
The question is how much Gin could a Qui Gon Jinn?
I just watch the prequels for irony's sake. For a good laugh with friends. The original trilogy is where it's at, and where it always will be. Nothing beats "The Empire Strikes Back". As always, great video guys!
When your video starts off as a cozy sitcom is priceless
I really like the Rise of Skywalker poster, The one where Kylo and Rey is mirrored, I suspect that will be the only thing I will like about that movie.
24:15 I do agree with you, but the first retcon of desert robes being the Jedi uniform was in RotJ when Sebastian Shaw appeared as Anakin’s ghost.
I used to put a flashlight next to my bed and prayed when I woke up it would be a lightsaber..lol
It’s a shame you gotta do those intros now , but better to be safe.
I can only say something nice about 3 of them 😂
Great channel🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
I was kinda hoping for a Clone Wars movie and the Ewok movie thoughts lol
I never noticed how cool Rey looked in TLJ
I have to admit, I'm surprised that "Revenge of the Sith" is your least favorite prequel. It's actually my favorite. It's structure is similar to "Empire's" in that the big battle is at the beginning while the more personal conflict is saved for the end. That said, I respect your opinion as always. And I'm right there with you on "Rogue One" and the original trilogy.
I do hope that "The Rise of Skywalker" is at least an adequate ending to the Skywalker saga. But whatever happens, the franchise will continue, and hopefully have some more home-runs like "Rogue One" and "The Mandalorian."
There's a moment in the "From Star Wars to Jedi" doc when Hamill's in a fitting for his black outfit for Jedi. Lucas is there, too, and mentions that (paraphrasing from memory) "this time he's dressed more Jedi-like," so, more like a police uniform and less like Tattooine clothing. I wish Lucas remembered (or kept to) his own words and design direction...
Great video. Honest, fair.
Their is something, still to this day magical about Star Wars. More than all the rest, I can watch it over and over and get that feeling I had as a kid
Michael, I too was a 5 year old kid in a theater for the very first time to see Return of the Jedi. What I remember and love most about that movie were the space battle sequences. The attack on the Death Star 2 was and still is one of my favorite scenes. I never really cared much for being a Jedi as a kid. I wanted to be a Pilot. Heck, my favorite character in Star Wars is the Millennium Falcon and there she was, leading the attack and winning the day!
I think writing/dialogue wise on scene in Revenge of the Sith would be the senate scene, with Palpatines galactic empire speech, mainly Padmé’s line “so this is how liberty dies, with thunderous applause ”
Honestly, Revenge of the Sith is my favourite Prequel and even my favourite Star Wars movie. Yeah, I know.
that's no longer a controversial opinion

Hey Michael, thanks for taking the extra time to show Obi-Wan's original costume in the [McQuarrie?] paintings for the Phantom Menace. A picture says a thousand words. And, of course, you insight into the things we love is always appreciated. Have a good one
5 years later, and we STILL don't know how Anakins Lightsaber found it's way to miss orange butthole-eyes...

Something nice about The Last Jedi? Er...... the credits had a nice font I guess??
You know. California experienced a wave of nine quakes on Christmas Eve. A 200ft (60m) tall tree fell and crushed a man in the California Redwoods that day. The Endor scenes were filmed there. Maybe nature itself is begining to display its displeasure regarding current events.
I kinda liked Rey and Kylo fighting Snoke's guards.
I like how the Phantom Menace was actually filmed on film. It looks the best in my opinion.
I just discovered this channel and I'd loved the interaction between you and Lil Vader. I feel the same way about certain movies that make me say "Why?" And I loved what you said about Bionic Six. I loved your sarcasm about the toys and you keep saying " the animation is good" which is true. Plus you got a new subscriber. Keep it up
I actually really like rogue one! I liked how they all died at the end. It wasn’t expected and really showed the sacrifice it took to get the Death Star plans
I wanted to add to Reys "Jedi clothes" from TLJ.
what came to mind when you showed the concept piece from TPM was Starkillers outfit at the end of Force Unleashed from the 360 and ps3 versions.
I like the fact that Michael likes props and costumes in episode 8 and 9...not much else...but a light saber and Rey's Jedi costume. Lol!
Now say something nice about other Lucas projects.
THX-1138 - Robert Duvall is fantastic, and the final shot when he is bathed in light by the sunrise is heart wrenchingly beautiful.
Willow - Val Kilmer is hilarious and Joanne Whahley is gorgeous.
American Graffiti - a snap shot of time in modern America.
Totally agree, the Phantom Menace always stands out as my favourite prequel movie. The Pod race audio and sound design makes a fantastic sequence. For three quarters of the sequence it has no musical score at all. It relies on the intuitive sound effect designs which really puts you in the driver's seat. Shame it never won its nomination for best sound design at the Oscars the preceding. 💥💥💥💥💥
Thank you for doing this. Positivity is good, plus putting DV in his place...always a win!
Donnie Yen and Jiang Wei actually worked together in a film called The Lost Bladesman (if you're familiar with the Romance of the Three Kingdoms or Dynasty Warriors, it's based on that) and have a great chemistry. Donnie is brilliant inn everything he does but pairing him with Jiang was genius
I am hoping that “Last Jedi figure of Rey” makes it onto your greatest hits album.
What about the two ewok movies? Lol.
As far as Attack of the Clones I also felt they helped build up Annakins forth coming fall. I enjoyed it a lot for the introduction of the clone army and Dookus possible turning on Sidious by trying to convince Kenobi which was expanded upon in the EUs comics and novels. Thanks for the content.
at 15:04, why is it that I've only just noticed that Vader's helmet is slightly shaking in that scene
Really good intro to the video, made me laugh, I love it ♡
I weirdly find the deleted scenes in the prequels the best ones. On an old DVD of AOC there's a scene where Padme takes Anakin to her parents house where she grew up. In ROTS there's a scene where they form the rebel alliance with Mothma.
I think I would have preferred the black outfits for the Jedi in the prequels. Anakin's ghost in ROTJ got the "tattooine style" robes, so maybe that was deciding factor.
K2 is basically if you made chopper smarter and a voice and I love that.
Luke's ROTJ costume always reminded me of a catholic priest. He did redeem his father's soul so I wander if they did that on purpose.
I’d like to see more videos of your opinions on movies. Love your content
Thank you for this Michael. We know it must have been difficult, but then these are difficult times for long time Star Wars fans. A bit of positivity is always appreciated.
Awesome! Thanks! 🙏
I like how Michael can talk like a real adult about pop-culture stuff. Like his little comment about how none of the prequels were particularly watchable, just a sober, cogent way to frame that up. I don't know if it's just everybody on the internet is fake because they have nothing to say but need to say something for money, or they need to say something flashy to get attention, or it's some absorbed "voice" they think is how you're supposed to write and talk in media, or maybe they're really all weird people and if you met them in real life, they'd seem strange, but it's refreshing when he does these types of videos.
Yup and the new green saber with the black uni was awesome!
Amen on your take on the RotJ practical effects!! Also, kids don't understand what it was like sitting in a movie theater at 5 years old back in 77, the lights go down, and two space ships in a battle come screaming over your left shoulder...and the lasers and lightsabers...with the music...it blew my mind!
Best parts of Phantom Menace and ROTS for me is the music.
Awesome review of the films, I'm totally with you on everything mentioned.
For those who dont know Ray Park who played Darth Maul also played Snake eyes in the main GI joe movies AND he also played both Night crawler and Toad in the X-men movies
Whew, I was nervous about the prospect of saying something nice about the last 2 desecrations without being sarcastic
but you did well focusing on 1 costume and 1 prop.
Well done as always.
If it was me I'd just want to skip commenting on _Star Wars_ and _The Empire Strikes Back_ because they are so otherworldly perfect I've been saying nice things about them for decades.
Phantom Menace: Sebulba is one of the coolest alien designs ever.
AotC: The chase at the beginning was cool.
RotS: Darth Vader was complicit in mass genocide so I liked that George Lucas got shocking with his turn to evil. (killing kids)
God, you can see Michael is almost gritting his teeth when he's trying to say something nice about TLJ:)))
I love all 8 (haven’t seen 9 yet), but I love them for different reasons. I love the originals for being genuinely good movies. I love Phantom Menace for the camp. I love 2 and 3 for the nostalgia (I grew up with them) and for seeing the Jedi in action. I love 7 and 8 for a return to practical effects and a return to a lived in world which was lacking in the prequels.
One of my favorite parts of solo was the reference to teras kasi. What a deep cut.
Phantom Menace is my favorite prequel as well. To me, it felt the most like a Star Wars movie. I'm not sure why, perhaps it was Liam Neesons performance. With him gone, the other two movies felt like they were missing something.
"This movie is perfection..."
Love the Love-
Such a beautiful singing voice.
great video!
I do agree with your thoughts on the prequels, The Phantom Menace was the best one.
I was ok with the force awakens. And when it ended the way it did gave me so much hope for 8 and those hopes were dashed in the first 10 minutes when Luke IN HIS JEDI ROBES tosses his FATHERS saber and goes to change his clothes and proceeded to tell Rey he has been cut of from the force! Even though he is on a Jedi temple , in Jedi robes, guarding the sacred texts??? Ya!
As someone who doesn't agree with a lot of your opinions on the newer Star Wars films, I was surprised how much I agreed with a lot of what you had to say here. Well done sir.
25:11 he's also got the yellow light sabre
So glad you said that about Lando...he definitely deserved his own 'story'
Great idea. That must have been hard. Well done.
1. Like for undertaking such a daunting task. I found myself nodding with appreciation and pleasant surprise with most of the comments for films outside the OT. “There is still good in [them]”.
2. Like for nailing almost everything I loved about RotJ. That was my first SW film as well (though I saw it as a rental at a friend’s sleepover when I was seven or eight), and is ultimately still my favorite. I would like to add a particular shoutout to William’s score during the final duel, and to the amazing stop-motion of the AT-STs on Endor. But you nailed everything else.
3. Like for similar experience with TFA. Prequels made me realize SW could be disappointing, but I was cautiously optimistic thanks to Marvel/Disney’s success and what JJ did with the first Trek reboot. (As only a very very casual fan of the IP, I wasn’t irked by what I hear was the virtual destruction of the lore.) It wasn’t really until Rey essentially taught Han how to fix the Falcon and flew it almost perfectly after a moment of “Oh, I’ve never flown anything ever, so now I’m making an awkwardly fast journey from ineptitude to mastery”. It was downhill from there...steeply. But yes, the opening moments with Rey, and Kylo’s initial appearance (though somewhat undercut by a poor decision to give Poe some jokes) made me think SW had regained its footing. For a moment.
I don’t know if you managed to think of nice things to say first and decided to make the video, or if it was a gauntlet you challenged yourself with (presuming little DV isn’t actually alive), but I applaud your courage in exploring the films outside the OT with a genuine desire to see the best in them.
I saw this star wars when I was 5 years old at a drive in. Grew up on old universal monster movies. Godzilla, rat patrol, buck Rodgers, you know, I mean tv was my babysitter, I'm 46. I can see in your mind what I feel about all of what you talk about on your channel. Thank you brother
I love almost every Star Wars movie so that’s easy for me:
The Phantom Menace: ummmm.... the podrace and the lightsaber duel was cool?
Attack of the Clones: let’s see... I liked Obi-Wan vs. Jango and the arena battle was pretty good I guess.
Revenge of the Sith: The opera scene and the last 10 minutes or so were really great.
A New Hope: everything is fantastic.
The Empire Strikes Back: one of my favorite movies of all time, it’s consistently amazing.
Return of the Jedi: almost everything is really great.
The Force Awakens: ditto to Return of the Jedi but even better.
The Last Jedi: lots of things, especially Yoda’s appearance and the badass scene where Rey and Kylo fight Praetorian guards, among others.
Rogue One is generally great and Solo had it’s share of moments. Dunno about The Rise of Skywalker yet...
Edit: there are all kinds of things I love about The Rise of Skywalker. Listing them all would make this long post even longer. Plus, spoilers. I like it more than The Last Jedi (which I love), less than The Force Awakens (which I really love).
Episode 1: It was done on film. I liked the Amidala costume designs. Maul's design. The saber fight choreography + Duel of Fates score was brilliant.
Episode 2: The whole Return to Tatooine sequence with the real set was a nice throwback and the death of Shmi was effective, as you mention. The score used for all of that was great too. I would also say that Dooku was a well-cast villain. I appreciated what they tried to do with Boba's origin even though it could have been better.
Episode 3: Fantastic look for both Anakin and Obi-Wan, I didn't like either of their hair and costumes in Ep 2 so this was much improved. I was a kid at the time so I have a soft spot for the Grievous design. I suppose I also liked that the film had the balls to go as dark as it did, although those moments don't always feel earned.
Episode 4: The "trench run" sequence on the Death Star held up quite well from what I recall. Unfortunately, I only saw the 90s versions.
Episode 5: The Hoth battle. Also the tense Vader & Luke fight and the parts leading up to it.
Episode 6: Luke's costume and saber plus his arc across the film. The throne room sequence was really well done as was the score.
Episode 7: It was done on film, from what I recall. I enjoyed the practical effects and costumes, I also liked the detail of the lightsabers actually having a real/practical glow on the actors rather than simply adding them in post, like the prequels.
Episode 8: The salt planet looked nice. Mark Hamill pulled off the bearded sage look quite well I suppose.
Episode 9: Didn't watch it but I'll go with the reversing of plot threads and the discourse that followed being mildly amusing.
We have differing opinions, but yours are certainly interesting.
Really enjoy your work.
Appreciate that!
Snoke's Pretorian Sith guards in their lobster armor in The Last Jedi were very interesting to me. Not a huge fan of the movie but I just love those lobster samurais.
Also, nice rework of Raspberry Beret.
About the last films I better don't say a thing: If I didn't have anything goog to say... you know what I mean.
I love Rogue One, it’s my favorite of the Disney movies, but Empire will remain my favorite of all of the Star Wars movies.
Ditto!
Great video
"Attack of the Clones"-my favorite part was Yoda/Dooku fight. My only problem with that fight scene is it's way to short. I have to agree, that Rogue One is the best Star Wars film of the latest batch.
When somebody only says good things or bad things about a film is always a little suspect: reveals the inability to see anything different from what is inside them. Good thought experiment for most things and very important for fanatics. Thanks for mentioning the Graflex: definitely one of the most excellent parts. Lucky none of the ice foxes had to face it!
