For console players, I would highly recommend turning off aim assist when using sabers. Aim assist almost always makes you face the wrong way when you try this, and you end up hitting their block a lot of the time.
How do I turn off aim assist?

literally everyone i go up against parries all my jump attacks, it's making it a lot harder to learn them
I noticed this too and this video made me realize why. Because you're probably still hitting their hit box in front of them, hitting their block allowing them to parry. You gotta make sure you're right behind them in the air cus it counts as a hit from behind. Hope that helps
@@ozymandiastheiii9176 well yeah but everyone turns and can track you now so they can parry you weather you make it behind them or not
@@Hoodini2253 well i don't run into too many ppl who can parry a jump swing. If you're not behind them in the you're gonna get parried. As u can see in the vid every successful hook is behind them so they can't block it and definitely not parry. Also turn off aim assist when dueling
@@ozymandiastheiii9176 I do turn off aim assist, and I jump right through them, but the they can still turn. I run into a lot of people who can. You can only get behind them if they don’t turn and track you through the motion, which most people always do to me, then they can parry.

Great video man! I’ve only started playing battlefront not long ago but I’m getting better thanks to your tips and tricks! Oh and do you know how to double hook? I’ve been told by a friend you need to hold block or something like that after your first hook but I have been doing that and failing too much 😅 my Character just wouldn’t do the 2nd hook but only jump.. 😰
I feel like it's kinda useless in most situations, I usually just do a followup swing after landing, but if you want to do that double jump swing, just do two quick jump swings in a row(holding block makes your jumps quicker)

So I’ve noticed in the vids a lot of times some of the jump attacks miss
And I’ve been practicing after seeing them
Is it random if it misses or does it genuinely have to be perfect
And what do I do if they parry my jump attacks
Also would a good sensitivity be 80% for someone not used to high sensitivity
It seems to work fine for me but idk
I’m used to playing on a low sensitivity for trooper based game modes however I can’t deny that with the increased sensitivity combat flows a lot smoother and faster with saber users

So I'm looking for a hard counter that shuts down hook swing spammers and a dodge isn't going to cut it. Could you feasibly turn around and parry a hook swing?
Another way to counter (if you’re on high health) is to swing while they jump swing. I always trade 2-3 hits on them for their 1 on me. And of course any crowd control abilities work well too.
those people that jump attack you must be doing that in a really weird way if you 'always' get '2-3' hits on them
@@Reysious yeah probs cause it’s on PS4. As they run at you I swing, they hit me once and I swing again as I turn around getting another, maybe even a third hit if they don’t turn quick enough or if I’m luke with a crazy swing speed. They were probs new to jump attacks.

When jump swinging, it doesn't matter if the dot in the center doesn't hit the opponent? How do you know if its going to hit?

Have you ever tried with dooku a hook swing then once ur behind ur opponent use lightning, then once the opponent is stunned get those two more hits for even more damage?? Haven’t tried this myself cos I haven’t mastered the hook swing technique yet, but thought this combo would be deadly if used by someone who has.
So technically ur getting 4 hits on ur opponent, but with dooku’s duelist & expose weakness active this would increase the damage output a lot.
I have, and if you have exposed weakness and duelist active it's a onetrick combo, unless you fight someone like anakin who has more than 750 hp. I have started combining jump swings with abilities a lot lately and it wokrs really well
I can see people jumping too high or with the wrong timing and It will be fun xD

You may have already answered this but does it matter if you’re looking left shoulder or right shoulder. I saw you were jump swing to your right when your reticle is on you right shoulder. Does that matter? Or does it make it easier if you’re jumping the direction of the reticle.
Shouldn't matter, just do what feels natural for you
With Dooku, I very rarely ever do hooks.
Due to the character HATING stuff like that and I just instead use his dodges.
With him, it's like a dance and I try to act like the character.
To be honest you don't really need it for most fights anyway, I just have it as a trick up my sleeve just in case
It's useful to know about though so that you can parry them and turn their knowledge against them

i dont know if the people i've ran into are just not that good but everytime someone tries to run through me and jump swing i just turn around and block it, is there a way you can perform this so its unblockable or am i just good at defense
then they do it wrong, blocking it shouldn't work, if it's performed correctly. It can sometimes be traded though

one question. how do i continue trying to hook / jump swing if they hit me while im running towards them with a normal attack and or with a ability such as choke, freeze, push
well I know I said 'spam jump swings' but you should still be careful with abilities like choke and maybe wait for them to use those abilities before you jump swing, or do very quick/short jump swings that are less predictable and harder to counter

Turn off aim assist with sabers so it doesn't mess you up. And learning how to play claw helps extremely so you can jump and attack at the same time.

I swear every time I try to the dodge back or the Juno is too slow
How do I make myself less predictable with jump swings? Everytime I try the jump swing, my opponent immediately dodges forward as I jump and turns around before I can even use a force ability even in the air.
you can try baiting your oppontnet to waste his dodges by pretending to jump attack, or simply try very short and small jump attacks
Dude can you post all your sensitivity? I mean zoom soldier and inactivity?
It wouldn't really help anyone, since it's going to be different depending on your mouse dpi
