What's weird is that Mordin, Grunt, and Legion all advise you to keep the base during the mission. Now they suddenly take a complete 180.

For the ones advocating keeping the base, why couldn't the dialogue team give a reason for why they turn skeptical? The only reason I can think of is if they had thought of giving the base to a different organization than Cerberus when advocating for keeping it; if so, the writers should have easily let Garrus, Grunt, Zaeed, Legion and Mordin give counterarguments for why saving the base could be a good idea or saying they were considering a DIFFERENT person or organization, like Hacket, the Alliance, the "true" geth, Clan Urdnot, or Shepard him/herself.
And why couldn't Bioware put in additional war assets if you destroy the base? If having Diana Allers interview you gives opportunities to increase assets simply by boosting morale, they could have had any organization both connected with surviving _Mass Effect 2_ party members and having a bone to pick with Cerberus! That would have been excellent!

@CaptainShepardN7 Yeah, mine too. It wasn’t for "real"; I did it, recorded the vids and reloaded the save from before so that everyone can live. I always like to see all the outcomes in games, see what happens if I make certain choices, but it’s only to satisfy my curiosity, I won’t export it or anything.

@CaptainShepardN7 Me too ! lol 3 versions in fact 1:everyone survives&base destroyed,2:everyone survives & base spared, 3:everyone dies including Shepard. The last one was a challenge first because I had Zaeed & Kasumi to kill in addition and second ‘coz it was really difficult emotionally, but I was determined to see my Shep die once I heard it was possible.

@CaptainShepardN7 Brrr…. The romance option is a tough one for me!! I’m keeping many options, I’ll decide when ME3 comes out lol

@CaptainShepardN7 Jack’s opinion on blowing the base up is way better! “Awesome explosion, right?”^^ In my save game waiting to be exported to ME3 I blew the base sky high as well, the Illusive man can go to hell lol

I rather think, that they wanted to give a "bounce point" so that you think about it from any perspektive... More that you consider everythign in your decision... They tell you this could be useful, but that doesn't mean they think so. It's their job to give you the best advice on the battefield. Or at least how I saw that.

Meh, after ME3 I realized it really is pointless whatever you choose, though, much like the Rachni Queen, choosing the destroy option makes things way easier.

What would Zaeed and Kasumi say?

Zaeed: "you done fucked up your bollocks, Shep!"
Kasumi: "holy shit, imagine how much stuff there's to steal!"
