    You are in for treat. Such a unique sound. Their latest album is stellar as well. If I had to recommend a single song it would be "monochrome (pensive)". Absolute masterpiece.

    Probably my favourite album of all time. I haven’t felt so much joy from listening to music in a long time. Such a fantastic band. Thank you for reacting to this and congrats for 3,000

    You should listen to the whole album. It's one of the best prog metal albums ever!

    Thrive is my real darkhorse jammer of the album. I didn't know who they were until i was about to see them with tesseract, but after a 4 month deep dive in preparation they won me over. Since that tour they've only settled more and more into being less deathcore and more of that accessible smooth prog we love with each album. There's a video of them doing language rediscovered, i highly highly suggest you enjoy that one when you got some free time.

    I first heard of these guys last year. Really changed my perspective as a musician seeing the technical unique sound a band can create. Glad you enjoyed them!

    Fun fact about the bass on this album, Robby Baca, one of the guitarists, did most of the bass.

      @@Cvo-581 agreed man. Though there are of course phenomenal moments found in Exoplanet and Intrinsic. Though perhaps they are less accessible to those who don't enjoy the "core" side of proggy metal

    The Contortionist is so good it's criminal! I really hope you see this and consider checking out Novelists. "A Travers le Miroir", "Lead the Light", "Monochrome" and "Heal the Wound" are some of the best songs you can hope to hear in the genre. Cheers and here's hoping to seeing you check them out!

    Congrats on the 3000 subscribers. Glad you're checking out The Contortionist. They are amazing. Their earlier stuff was more on the deathcore side but they have went alot softer in the past couple albums. Intrinsic is probably my favorite but they have still not released a bad album in my opinion. Dreaming Schematics, Geocentric Confusion, and Holomovement are few from that album.

      @gabrielchad447 Před 3 lety +1

      I would almost call their earlier stuff technical death metal, especially Exoplanet. it's a hard pick between Intrinsic and Language for me, but I'd definitely say Intrinsic has the most interesting songwriting

    Feel our tastes are really similar, love your reactions to bands I also really enjoy. You've probably already had people recommending well known heavy-hitters Karnivool, Tesseract, Leprous and Periphery - but there are a few smaller slept-on bands that are at the same level as our boys Haken and Caligula's Horse - first, another ozzy band Circles: their last album was full of great songs, no filler - czcams.com/video/zwnGQx8fyCE/video.html - and also check out Ihlo, a new up and coming English prog-metal/rock band: czcams.com/video/wKY8wFTy1zk/video.html. Oh, and Sleep Token if you want your mind blown. ;) Keep on loving music sir.
