Clint. And Keven I really appreciate the effort restoring these old projects, Kudos to your
team. I spent a lot of my youth working with my dad in his machine shop fabricating items for equipment. It was a time in my life that I cherish now he’s been gone the past 5 years. Keep up the progress on these projects!

Clint I have to say your boys are a credit to you, they don't appear to fear hard or dirty work and they know how to deal with workplace humour.
Theres many a kid and man out there that can't do any of that and will never know what a hard won wage is like, your boys will never be poor thanks to your guidance and the work ethics you teach them.

The plane that flew low overhead was a Lockheed C-130 Hercules. Very common and incredible plane used by the USAF and Coast Guard, among other sources. It’s also what Hurricane Hunters fly into the eye of hurricanes.
Great video! Fun to see these projects of yours come together and head out the door to new lives with new owners. I’m not the most mechanical person, but watching you is teaching me so much and taking away the fear to try tackling some of these projects myself! Keep up the great work!

Many years ago I worked in the underground coal mining industry, we had some crawler equipment underground for loading out coal. If we needed to split a track we would use what we called a "Copper Hammer" this was a 2 inch piece of dynamite with an electric detonator, some grease and a bag of stone dust strategically placed over the pin. we would the move to a safe spot and connect the blasting battery... BOOM and the pin was out, never to be seen again. Completely illegal of course but it did the job and saved hours slogging the pin with a 14lb hammer and a drift.

If anyone's ever in need to "freeze" a bearing, bushing, sleeve, etc. there's no need
to hunt down expensive liquid nitrogen or dry ice.
Simply invert a large can of "duster" spray, and coat the part with entire can.
    Immediately assemble frozen part.
*WARNING: Wear eye protection, heavy gloves, and work in a well ventilated area!*

You might use a rosebud on the torch and then Shock the bolt with Cold water and that will help shock the Rust, have to do it several times( a machine shop showed me this method). Best of luck in 2023

I have followed this project since the start Clint . Y'all have definitely come a long way with this little loader. Especially with the transmission and the undercarriage. I can't believe somebody neglected this machine like that.
My grandfather's two operators , my uncle and my grandfather's best friend that he subcontracted for. all of them taught my grandfather what sealed and lubricated track was, When I was about 12 years old. He never looked back to dry chain after that.
I was glad to see that because up until that point he used dry chain. I remember having to hold the railroad hammer so my grandfather or my uncle or some of their help would swing a 20 lb sledge hammer at that railroad hammer driving Master pin out. When they went to using SALT type rails with the alligator clips I thought I was in heaven especially when I got to be about 15 years old. Because by then I didn't have to swing that sledgehammer near as much when doing undercarriage work.
Y'all keep up the good work bud.
    Mack

I wish we had one of those presses to press those master pins in and out. That would have saved me and my coworkers from multiple surgeries of having pieces of hammers or track pins removed. I spent two years doing track work every day. We would weld up idlers, rebuilt top and bottom rollers and had two track presses to turn or replace pin and bushings. Hard dirty work I enjoyed when I was in my mid twenties.
You should use one of the Unimogs as a power pack for your track pin press. I’m glad you caught the backwards tracks since that is always embarrassing when you put them on the wrong direction.
