Hi David I am a one man band playing live gigs all over Cape Town South Africa. I recently switched from an old Roland CR 1000 digital drummer to using a Cojon with a kick drum pedal. I mike it up with a SM58. I far prefer it as it is more organic and cuts out on setting rythms between songs.
I also around the same time invested in the Roland SPD One Kick that you speak of in this session. I was really interested to hear you speak of the strain that it puts on your shin muscle. As a result it is in it's box and playing 2nd fiddle to the Cojon setup.
As i use the Cojon/ stomp box with most of my songs there is no way I can put up with the pain. Have you found a way around this? I am thinking of getting a block of wood at the right height to rest my foot to strike the pad at an angle that doesn't cause this strain.
The other issue I have with the pedal is that when I plug it into my mixing desk I have to turn the volume on the pad to almost 100% to get a decent volume. ( Does that make sense)
Thanks for your videos on looping. I have also recently invested in the Boss RC30 Loop Station. Can you tell me if it is possible to use this in conjunction with the TC Helicon Harmony Singer pedal which I love?
I would love to include looping in my act as I play a couple of interestin instruments like the bagpipes which are impossible to play in conjunction with anything else unless you loop?
    Would appreciate your comments.
    Thanks
    Bryan
