Please remember when using tools of any type, there is the potential for injury. Work at your own risk, be safe, wear your safety gear, and most of all, have fun! - Jak na to + styl
With piezos I don't even use a potentiometer. I just put the capacitor fixed in the system and that's it.
Have to admit, I'd never heard of a stomp box, before this video.
I'll have to have a go at making one once I've finished building my guitar!
A great video, thanks for sharing.
Its definitely a fun little gadget.
It has a lot of bass for its size, impressive.
I love how excited you are about this thing.
Super cool. Love the knobs.
No dislikes for a reason ! Great job! Awesome seeing all the steps and your woodworking skills!
Thanks so much. I appreciate it.
That is awesome, love the knobs.
Thanks, I think that's my favorite part.
wow, what a beautiful piece of wood and what a great design for the pedal. respect man!
Thank you very much!
Thanks for sharing that
Very Cool Project and Great Video!!
Do you have a wiring diagram for this project and electronic parts list? Love the way it turned out!
Not something I figure I will make, but I enjoyed watching you do so.
Thank You!
Great idea 👍👍👍👌👌
very very good!!!👏👏👏👏congratulation salut of Brazil
Very surprised how deep the thump is! Would have thought it would have sounded shallow and more "tappy". Thanks!
Craftsman!!
Another good video!!
Thanks my friend!
Yet another terrific video! (By the way, thanks for pronouncing "piezo" correctly!)
Thanks! Thats one word that gets pronounced a few different ways.
Good job thanks
Thank you too
Yes, elm has a slight, not mold smell, but almost like a weird mushroomy smell when it gets worked. That's not exactly right either, but I totally agree with your point.
Mushroomy is a great word. Its very earthy.
Very cool and it sounds great too! Well done! Love that elm, but not that blade. lol
Thanks Steve! This thing is fun, and yeah that blade has seen better days. LOL.
Cool
Now, if that's for real and I assume it is, that's just cool as hell!
Its absolutely real!
@@homebuiltshop I'm straight up impressed Jeff. It doesn't happen often, but you really blew my mind this morning!
Thank you, I appreciate it. This was a super fun project.
Cool build, I've done a bit of stuff with piezos and cigar box guitars and everything I've seen and done is running a tone cap is useless with piezoelectrics
Question...you went into detail about everything including the epoxy but failed to show the wiring diagram for how you wired the tone and volume...yes that may be common knowledge but so is using epoxy to fill holes and cracks
Looks amazing
I’m planning on making one myself I was just wondering if the wood needs to be seasoned or not?
Its probably not super important here but if the wood is wet, it will be more prone to shrinking and cracking as the wood dries.
Hell yeah! Elm stinks! But looks cool!
I have some log laying to dry in my shed and the smell is not pleasant haha cool video!
It sure smells strange. Lol.
Hello, did you maybe finish that wiring diagram video? Thanks!
That's very cool.
I would like to make one for a friend, do you have plans avalible.
I don't know much about electronics.
Thanks! There are lots of guitar wiring diagrams available online. I like the Seymour Duncan website for diagrams. This one is basically the same as a single pickup electric guitar with a volume and tone control.
Three things. 1, awesome build, so simple yet can round out a track in no time. 2, yay, more drill press noise! and 3, does it suck living next to a highway?
Thanks! Should I just make a video of me drilling a bunch of holes? lol. I am quite tired of this highway. It didn't used to be so busy and loud but its gotten bad in the last several years. I'm looking forward to moving into a larger and quieter shop. Someday.
@@homebuiltshop Just let it run in the background lol. Sorry about the road... Maybe your next project is a fence!
Did you use a PA system for the demo? I'm running this through a guitar amp and just can't get the same sound even while using a preamp with the bass turned up
I did use a PA for the demo.
Hi did you put 2 piezos in there? And how did you attach to jack's ? Black wire to each jack? And red to each jack? Volume & tone control. So 4 wires? And 4 connectors? Thanks
I did use 2 piezos. They are wired in series to try to make it a bit louder. The wiring is exactly the same as a guitar with one pickup, one volume and one tone control.
Awesome, so that plugs into the mic port on my amp?
Yes, it works real good on the line in on a PA too. You can really get the bass out of it.
@@homebuiltshop Thank you for the reply I ordered the stuff to make one.
This rules. Do you have a wiring diagram for the piezo and knobs and all that jazz? I am hoping to make one of these this weekend!
Went to SeymourDuncan but haven't found the right diagram. +1 for wiring video from me. I have made one like this before czcams.com/video/OUhGV6sIJe0/video.html but it only has one piezo.
I'll work on a wiring video using this configuration.
Wish you had shown how to solder the volume and tone. I've tried with my guitar and ended up with 2 volumes instead of tone and volume, haha.
Maybe I'll do a simple wiring video.
yes! Please do a wiring vid i wanna learn how to solder!
I only could give you 10 Points - because it doesn't go to eleven...
Thanks for the video very cool. I have some old double humbuckers from a guitar project would those work?
I'm not sure if a guitar pickup would work. The way it picks up sound is different that a piezo. I would be worth an experiment though.
Where do I get the pick up's from?
The Piezo Discs are all over. Try searching Piezo Disc Pickups and you should find hundreds.
Spinal tap reference lol
Haha. You got it.
Slow down your drill, your building up unnecessarily heat in the bit and it will lose its edge faster 👍🏼
Thanks for the tip
They sound great but they sure make your leg ache!
I envy you your life, so evolved and focused.. U arent even the same species as the sociopaths i find myself surrounded by. Congratulations on being a shining example of the 'best case scenario' category of homo sapiens. ...
Okaaaaay. That was wildly inappropriate.
What i MEANT to say was
Ur so funny about that blade, just a throw away moment but keeping it is what makes ur video more "lets figure this out" and not "step one- mach! Step 2 - schnell !"
