    *To hear proper bass sound during soundcheck use speakers with a subwoofer (or headphones). Volume levels of the guitar and stompbox largely depends on Your playback equipment.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Few words about this handmade, percussive instrument:
    -Electromagnetic Stompbox Ergonomic is a modernised version of Electromagnetic Stompbox Classic (compact sized, square shaped variant, still available: bit.ly/2NwRY2r ).
    -It's 100% passive and analog (no power supply needed, no digital sound processing: magnet, coil and wood, that's all).
    -It contains the same custom designed electromagnetic pickup like Classic version.
    -For those who needs more comfortable playing position it's wider(12,5cm instead of 9cm), it has slanted front and it's slightly leaning towards the player.
    -It also has additional input (for guitars with magnetic pickups, passive piezo pickups-without preamp or microphones) and volume potentiometer (it works as a master volume for input and stompbox at the same time). Plugging anything to the input is not necessary (unlike guitar pedals, because it's standalone instrument).

    *By usłyszeć wiarygodne, niskotonowe brzmienie stompboxa użyj głośników z subwooferem lub słuchawek. Poziomy głośności gitary i stompboxa w dużej mierze zależą od Twojego sprzętu odtwarzającego.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    -Posiada też dodatkowe wejście (dla gitar z przetwornikami magnetycznymi lub mikrofonów) i potencjometr głośności (działający jak master volume jednocześnie dla stompboxa i wejścia).
    Podłączanie czegokolwiek do wejścia nie jest konieczne (w przeciwieństwie do efektów gitarowych, Stompbox to samodzielny instrument.)

    It must be nice to have all those tools. Can you do this with one piece of sandpaper and a hacksaw? Those are all the tools I have.

    • @jcout25
      @jcout25 Před 4 lety

      I'm also confused...what's plugging into it? Isn't it just a box that requires an output for the stomp sound? There shouldn't be anything plugging into it unless you're running midi or something for various sounds, right?

    • @woodpecker8791
      @woodpecker8791  Před 4 lety +2

      @@jcout25 Forgive me for waiting so long for an answer. Maybe only a hacksaw is too little, but look at my first 3 videos- i didn't have any fancy equipment-cheap hand router, even cheaper drill press, and jigsaw was all i had. This guitar which you can see at the end of the video is made by my own hands. Drill press with hacksaw was only electric tools I used. Everything depends on how much stubborn You are and how much time do you have.
      And second question: there's no midi, it's fully analog. It requires only plugging output to (for ex.) amplifier as you said. And input is only optional addition.

    • @woodpecker8791
      @woodpecker8791  Před 2 lety +1

      It's not a secret and actually it's quite easy to do: this piece of paper on the video is a laser print/photocopy (mirrored image). I'm transferring toner from paper to wood by using high temperature generated by my oldschool soldering iron that i own especially for that purpose (modern ones can do the job too if you have the right tip). A little bit of rubbing and being carefull not to burn the paper and here it is :) great way to brand your things, way better than popular method of transferring toner to a wood by acetone.

    • @woodpecker8791

      Thanks! I designed and made this guitar by myself years ago when i was in high school. It's fully made of ash wood. Back then i didn't even have any milling machine, my workshop was very basic. It cost me a ton of work. I put cheap Korean hardware to it but it's enough to do the job.

    I want a stompbox which my audience also hears on mobile phone speakers. But i cannot hear yours without headphones. You might want to add some hights in your sounddesign.

    • @woodpecker8791
      @woodpecker8791  Před 5 lety +2

      Thanks for Your opinion. I think it's possible to achieve that in the sound mix. I give starting point- everything else depends on musician : ) There's not much place for compromises: bass sound OR making it possible to hear on simple mobile devices. Just like bass guitar.

    • @GordonNovember
      @GordonNovember Před 5 lety

      @@woodpecker8791 i would not say that. Place a coin or a plastic, or somerhing else under your foot. Then you might get it. But you need to show this in the video. The average spectator doesnt know it and thinks the stompbox is bad.

    • @woodpecker8791
      @woodpecker8791  Před 5 lety +1

      czcams.com/video/W8V83IxovE8/video.html Here's a video of one of my customers. He achieved sound that can be heard on mobile phones/small speakers without any changes in product design.
      Despite that maybe someday i'll make my stompboxes tunable, i made working prototype of that solution, but it's too bulky to install it yet.
      Anyway-thanks for some insightful look at this matter.

      Running the signal through some kind of distortion will add highs (and decrease the amplitude of the fundamental).

      Use earbuds with bass capability and you'll hear it. The point of the stompbox is to NOT have clicky-snappy high end.

    how can a musician add that horrible music instead of machinery sound and little explaination? that would be also easier to understand.

    • @woodpecker8791
      @woodpecker8791  Před 4 lety

      I totally agree with You but there's few reasons why this video was made like that: - i listen a lot of music and youtube videos while working (this is very audible on recordings ).
      80% of shots were made for the needs of my „private archive”, then I thought they were aesthetic enough to use them for youtube video. So i had to remove original audio for better reception of this film (and avoid copyright warnings for background music from the radio- i got one few years ago).
      I can add more explanation in subtitles, no problem. I treat this more like little visual insight in my work process (and to show how time-consuming this process is) than tutorial or complex commercial. I also didn't do it in the form of an audio commentary because my english accent could be irritating. I also didn't add subtitles embedded in the movie itself because it may be distracting especially when most of activities speaks for itself and people can be bored with a lot of text.
      I'll try to get rid of those irritating thing in the future, thanks for Your comment ;)

    • @Ilicet

      this video isn't a DIY tutorial.. it's a demo of the pedal with a behind the scenes of how he made it. If he gave out the overall design and gave in depth instructions on how he made it.. that'd make it harder for him to sell.
