Another stellar review, I'm sure. Yours always are that good, Jeff! I need other things first, but thank you. đđđđâ€â€â€â€
I got my S1 about 2 months ago after researching lasers for over a year stared my business with it and business has taken off mine runs probably 4 to 5 days a week on average 5 hrs a day hasn't had an hiccup yet
So for the 40watt vs 20watt engraving. Your examples did come out good, and that style will. Its more on photo engraves. It has to do with a bigger laser dot, but scaling of the power. So your power setting is your max allowed power. So running 10% power vs 20% power on a 20 watt when you scale them down the 40 watt your running at faction of a power percentage so its not really engraving the lighter parts vs the 20 watt might be running 2 or 3 % for the light parts and still will engrave
Top end machines don't use lightburn. They use Coreldraw or Illustrator and simply use a windows print driver to send to the laser.
So I have the S1 40 watt. One thing I realized after the fact is sales dont mean much for xtool, there is a always a sale. Now my sale was better than that sale, but its been "on sale" pretty much at all times since I first saw it. I like mine overall, there is some things though, the 40 watt has a real kicker compared to the cometition. Others can switch to a low power mode, which makes a difference. The 40 watt has a issue with its not as good with fine details as the 20 watt. Which really becomes a issue at really easy to engrave materials, like cork. I need to run like almost no power to engrave, but the power is too low for the lighter parts to engrave. Overall I do love mine and its a cutting beast, but its not perfect
Interesting. Got the xTool F1 and have the F1 ultra on order. The F1 seems really good for a galvo style laser. Having good support from xTool is why we decided to get a second one.
I'll stick with my Longer Ray 5 10W unit. Also, use Lightburn software, you don't have to stay connected to the internet.
Nice vid! I love xtool they're a fantastic company with awesome machines.
I use Lightburn for my cheap laser. I would love to upgrade to the XTool.
I think it has curved surface ability too with the depth probe.
I been curious on getting one of these or something like it. I donât have internet at home, so this model might be good. I didnât know that glofordge required that.
Pretty cool. Instant gaskets! Gotta beat the Xacto knife and punch set, as long as the software can import Autocad.
I want one, just can't justify, for the amount of use it would get.
i have a Xtool D1 pro 20w with Lightburn it's great but tons of hours on CZcams
Awesome info just wish I had the time and brains to do all the WIFI stuff and tech . So for doing aluminum you need a fiber laser ? Sure would be nice to be able to engrave so many things I make. Hell , I could just send my things to you, đđđđ
To engrave it you can can coat it with paint or other materials. They have special coatings just for that. But if you want t cut you will need the Fiber or IR laser.
I thought they were the same company up until now.
"Just scratching the surface." I'd say you're just burning the surface. Do not look at laser with remaining good eye.
