Fun fact: honduras actually has a very in depth focus tree in road to 56 which is unironically a bit of fun! You can go full banana republic, you can go the historical route (and shittiest one), you can become an exiled kingdom of spain and reinvade spain and you can also go communist and basically invade everything from mexico to argentina

I played Honduras in Road to 56 and did basically the same thing but spent 3 ingame years at war with Columbia while in a stalemate. The only thing that ended the war was a coup

This makes me nostalgic for DDRJake's first HOI4 series, where he played as El Salvador, tore through South America like a starving panther through a tour bus, got bogged down in brutal guerilla warfare in Paraguay, and then lost because he forgot to garrison his capital.

Each time I see ISP video thumbnails, I'll start to laugh and never stop even after watching the video.
Well I'm from Costa Rica and as history is told here, we declared war on the axis, a few years later a German submarine sunk a vessel in the our Caribbean coast, mean while here we had germans and Italians living among us, they were sent to concentration camps without any warning, here in Costa Rica some old businesses have Italian or German names, imagine having a thriving bookstore one day and in the next day being sent to a concentration camp, just because we were "fighting" against the axis.
I think Costa Rica in Kaiserreich would have been morr painful than this. They have a Focus tree that takes time to unlock and you can't declare random wars
When you play Honduras I recommend you play it in Road to 56. You can form a strange anarcho-capitalist society.
Back when you could coup majors I saved the free world as Costa Rica by inciting Bavaria to rise up in 1941. It used almost all of my military production.

Cool fact about Costa Rica: In the 1800s, a random American Lawyer took over Nicaragua and pissed off all of Central America because he was a random American Lawyer who took over Nicaragua. Costa Rica lead the coalition against the American guy and successfully drove him out, in an event that's one of celebrated as one of Costa Rica's major national holidays.
Unfortunately for Costa Ricans, the last thing American dude did before skipping town was dump bodies into all the wells. This gave all the soldiers a wide range of horrible diseases that they brought home and spread to their families, killing roughly 1/3 of the population.
It sums up American-Central American relations pretty well to think that the most important even in another country's history was done by a random rich dude that nobody here has heard about.
