I want to tell you that your evaluations, despite not knowing much about beatbox, are accurate, this Napom routine in terms of level is super difficult, but the structure and transitions are very abrupt and not very delicate, but since they are incredible techniques, it didn't matter. much against. There are parts where you pointed out the attitude of people in basic deliveries, but really it is not so much because of the pattern itself, but because of the power of the sound, it is not so easy to make certain sounds sound powerful.
Incredible analysis, I hope soon for a reaction to Jairo's (tag team) gbb 2023 eliminator, maybe you can understand them more since their beatbox is not that complex but they are still incredible.

this was essentially a 'greatest hits' medley, hence seeming a bit disjointed. the interesting thing is the choice to do this in a competition context. he's essentially rolling out all the old shit, which is 'good enough' to progress to the next round, without giving his opponents any insight into anything new he has cooked up.
the reverb snare is like that in real life, it's like a whisper + cough almost, very achievable
Napom has a sick cough snare though, one of the better ones since he uses a lot of liproll (inward), so he needs to expell a lot of air (cough snair)

I call it semi-freestyle, altough this term could be interpreted in different ways.
The "saw tooth" sound he is doing is called a lip roll, and napom is the king of lip rolls.

@19:18 I actually relate to this as a brass musician turned beatboxer. I use double tonguing techniques for articulating hi hat sounds, and the lip roll technique has a similar rhythmic foundation for learning to do it consistently and metrically correct

Edit: you could get this dude Napom on a podcast or interview I’ve hosted him before for my friends podcast. He’s a true legend. Has battles going back to the 3rd world championship, has won world champs and grand beat box battle and is still competing getting vice champ to this day. He is elite

Always appreciate the details you highlight you have a unique perspective. In terms of hearing beatboxers talk about what they do, a lot of pro beatboxers do livestreams and would probably be open to chat. Napom streams and could be a possibility and I think Remix or Vocodah might be some others to try contacting.

Btw, I think it's not that hard to contact a beatboxer to talk with them, sice they are usually open to show beatbox to anyone they can. The Fairy Voice Mother (a vocal teacher) also has a reaction channel where she analyzes videos like you do but from a different perspective, and through that she was able to make videos with some beatboxers
Napom are the one that make the inward and outward sound called 'liproll' famous.. there is also some variation of them as well.. for example liproll bass, and hollow liproll.. and i think Trung Bao can do more 20 types of liproll in his channel.. some of them are mixed sounds and combination..
Okay sorry for writing a 3rd comment :D but I there is actually kind of a story to why you feel like that at around 21:50
The part where he slightly sped up didnt came through the sound system as he intended (throat kick barely hearable) so he switched the rhythm one pattern early and started to freestyle to cover up the "weak" part and then unfortunately kinda lost track of tempo.
But he instantly came back with that super dope ending, what a beast he is!
Honestly, the best person to talk to in regards to all the intricacies of what’s going on in the body, is definitely Reeps One. Absolute legend and massive pioneer in the beatbox scene. Love the reaction bro 🤟🏾

I can only recommend you to try to get in touch with or at least check out The Charismatic Voice.
Elizabeth is a professional opera singer and knows A LOT about vocal anatomie.
She got introduced to metal a few years ago and started analyzing all the various vocal techniques used in metal.
She is yet to be properly introduced to the beatbox community, but she has encountered it before in Acapella groups like Voiceplay and Home Free, so she's not completely unfamiliar with the craft.
Might also just be my fan boy fever dream to see you two collab and geek out over music...

You bring to beatbox what it needs, not more sounds or more understanding of them, but an actual musical perspective of (more then) experienced drummers
you can pretty much make 3 layers at the same time with beatbox: 1 voice (humming), 1 tongue , 1 with the lips.
All the other stuff is just fast combinations of those
Commented on the last beatbox video too, but you should definitely consider reacting to “Upside” by Osis it’s truly some of the best beatboxing I’d heard in 2023! Ofc Napom is also an incredible beatboxer who founded a lot new techniques for the community

You probably get lots of recommendations but you need to check out anything by Helium. He is the king of Drum and Bass beatboxing and would be perfect.
You should check out some of Codfish's solo videos from his channel, he did a mad world cover recently that was really good and technical
you should watch tom thum ted X for the biology behind basic beatbox!!
There's a ted talk video featuring Tom Thum (an OG beatboxer) and Dr Matthew Broadburst (a laryngeal surgeon) to take a look inside of Tom's throat during beatboxing, I strongly recommend you do a video about it!
