    Ive got a set of these on my old cruiser and have also owned the original intensitys.
    I found these to be a fantastic light.
    The dimming feature i felt was a gimmic untill i used it on the hyway. My biggest hate with my old light was when the epic reflections from sighn posts. These new ones i run on the intermediate brightness on the hwy and save the super bright for winding country roads.

    Fantastic review! Really thorough and appreciate the work that goes into all the additional shots to really illustrate what you’re talking about, well done 👍

    Hey mate, what’s the spread like on the flood beam compared to a lightbar? I’m more wanting to light up as wide an area as possible to see those creatures off the roadside before they jump out in front. Would it be worth fitting 2 floods instead of a pair of flood and beam?

      @tlr4x4  Před 3 lety +2

      It’s a 11 degrees spread , I feel that they should be a bit more but they do a great job lighting up the sides of the road/ Bushes. As for running one of each if your looking for wide spread lighting i’d stick with the 2 floods or look at putting a light bar in addition

      @@tlr4x4 thanks for the reply mate. Do you think 2 floods will still light up what’s in the distance decent enough? These stats of 1 lux at 1.2km or whatever it is for the spots are kind of useless cos I doubt our eyes can even see what’s that far ahead. The cars booked in at arb in a couple months time so I’ve got lots of time to decide what I get fitted.

      Mate for the price and the fact that you can dim or Brighton depending on if you’re in the bush or on the highway they do a fantastic job , Real world I’d say you’re probably getting around 400 metres of usable light , add that together with What is generally good products that ARB put out I say that’s a bit of a winner

      @@parkesy82 Hey mate, which way did you decide to go?.. I’m in the same predicament you were as I want a wide spread also so I don’t hit animals but want to see a bit up the road also. I was thinking of getting the intensity V2 AR32 in flood lights being a bit more powerful. Thanks 👍

    • @parkesy82
      @parkesy82 Před měsícem +1

      @@ARCHIES_79_LC hey mate I went with 2 floods and they’re great, they light up plenty of distance ahead too. I’ve got them pointing a tiny bit outwards and can get a fairly good throw width and like 500+m ahead easy. Most of the time I’m using them the roads are winding so I dim them a couple clicks or they’re too bright bouncing back off trees/embankments etc. I’m glad I didn’t go for a spotty.

    Good video. I'm also looking at these lights. Could you do a more extensive video showing the difference between standard factory lights and then the 5 settings on a dark country road? Pretty please.

      I’ll definitely be looking into doing a follow up video and I’ll incorporate A more extensive look at the different levels these lights offer in there settings

    Good video however to be honest not my cup of tea. I can’t see the “ dimmer” feature catching on in the market place.
    I’ve owned a few different driving lights over the years and regularly do long distance night drives when touring. For me, I want plenty of light, spreading out from the front of the car ( a wide angle). I’m not really fussed about seeing 1.8km down the road. It’s all about that first 200 meters and spotting that animal or other hazard near the edge of the road / track

    i understand your reasons for choosing these lights. but my own thoughts are the dimable feature is really nothing more than a gimmic.....in your video the flood version doesn't seem to put out as much light as i would have expected nor do they seem to have much spread. fair enough, you speak of being able to see animals etc with these lights, but not having enough side spread in the right places (which these lights clearly don't have) is a recipe for an animal strike. i personally do a lot of night driving both long distance and low speed off highway, and the one thing i want in a spotlight is good spread. your never going to hit a roo 1km up the road....but you WILL hit the ones that jump out about 30m to the side of you at 100km/h. in the end i know this all comes down to personal choice and what suits your expectations, but for myself i cannot justify buying these lights as they simply don't have the "expected" features that a flood type spotlight should have......cheers

      I tend to angle my lights outwards at 45° angles, let my light bar handle the straight ahead. It really helps me see deer on sides of the road

    Useful review. Skip first 2 mins. Only went to existence of dimmer, reputation and price though so not comprehensive review. Thanks

    Just not worth that price. Too many other options from all over the world and much cheaper. Seriously who needs dimming spot lights? Its just another gimmick.
