  • The brand new AR-40 intensity light bar just got put on the Drifta 200, so heres a comparison to the AR-32 Spot lights on the Drifta 76.
    Made by ARB in the USA, and designed in Australia, these LED lights are the best in the business, producing heaps of light for on and offroad use. The light bar has some unique features, such as tamper proof bolts and a curved back to fit on the bullbar top tube. We have been testing out the Intensity Spot Lights for a few years now, and they have been great, no problems with them and still going strong.
    Check out the Drifta website: www.drifta.com.au

    I've got 3 of them and use the middle one as spread. It was expensive but 4 years on and 1000kms later still have the power of the sun on my bullbar lol

    Great video Kaito, I'm getting some a32's and the ar40 fitted up next month. I went for the combo light bar and one spot/one flood ar32. Iv'e been doing a bit of night driving lately, and my night vision isn't getting any better lol and hope these help. Cheers !

      Fitting it up to an Rg mk2 Holden Colorado, had the car for three years or so, but caught the off-roading bug lately. Many fun times to come I hope. Subscribed to ur channel bud, keep the good stuff coming.

    Good video mate. Just wondering if that bit of glare visible from the back of the AR40 is annoying or is it just the video? I'm having AR21 spots and an AR40 combo fitted to an MQ Triton.

    • @kaitosutton
      @kaitosutton  Před 6 lety

      Cheers mate :) yeah the glare does get annoying, its pretty bright. Id suggest putting some electrical tape over the edge to try combat it a bit. I'll give it a go :)

    • @JarradDRS
      @JarradDRS Před 6 lety

      Kaito Sutton thanks for the reply bud. Fair dinkum? Wow, that's maybe enough to turn me off getting it. It looks really bright in the video, but I thought it may have been the video camera exaggerating it. Thanks very much for the heads up mate.

    • @kaitosutton
      @kaitosutton  Před 6 lety

      All good, Its a great bar and the cover could be removed to fix the problem. I'll give the tape a go and get back to you :)

    • @JarradDRS
      @JarradDRS Před 6 lety

      Kaito Sutton cover? Do you have one of the polycarbonate covers over the bar? Is that what's causing the glare?

    • @kaitosutton
      @kaitosutton  Před 6 lety

      Yeah the cover comes with the bar and is causing the glare back, without the cover I'm pretty sure it'll fix it. I can test it tomorrow and let you know ? :)

    Great vid Kaitio I’m trying to decide on one or the other leaning towards the light bar do you know what the distance is on the light bar and would it be adequate thanks Denis

    • @kaitosutton
      @kaitosutton  Před 6 lety

      Hey dennis, thank you :) in terms of distance im not really sure what they would be but they sure are adequate. As you know though light bars tend to spread the light over a larger area, rather then shoot straight down the road like an HID would. :)

    I'm just investigating spotties v bar, and I think you have shown me the bar is for me. Mind you, this was 4 years ago. So I had better see how technology has altered the outcome.

    Do u get over heating issues with the spot lights in front of the radiator?

    • @kaitosutton
      @kaitosutton  Před 6 lety +1

      nah mate, the cruiser is always running pretty well. they do obstruct the radiator though, cant avoid it

  • @markwhit
    @markwhit Před 7 lety +1

    Hey Kaito, having both of them for awhile. What's your personal preference, what do you think is better?

    • @kaitosutton
      @kaitosutton  Před 7 lety +6

      Mark Whit hey mate. Have had the spotties for a few years but only got the light bar a week ago (this video was the first test using it). The spotties defiantly put out more light, reach further up the road, but the light bar is not far behind. It also doesn't block the radiator like the spotties do, so there's a plus. Also, the light bar is cheaper than the 2 spotties. If you already have decent spotties, adding the light bar would be perfect. Other wise, go the intensity spotties, they are a great bit of gear :)

    • @markwhit
      @markwhit Před 7 lety +1

      Kaito Sutton thanks bud, look forward to hearing back in a few weeks of your thoughts about the light bar. Looks like a nice bit of gear.

    • @kaitosutton
      @kaitosutton  Před 7 lety

      Yeah, but wouldn't leave much room for spotties if you wanted them as well. you can buy mounting brackets for them so they can get bolted to a flat surface I'm pretty sure.

  • @markrossi5627
    @markrossi5627 Před 5 lety +1

    It’s piss poor how the light bar reflects light back at the driver, that’s a complete fail. The cheap eBay ones are one 20th the price and probably just as bright👍

  • @vevohoeyo
    @vevohoeyo Před 6 lety +6

    Both are actually very average. And for that price it's criminal. There's plenty of superior products out there for a fraction of the price. I'm not talking about the Chinese junk either
