David Coverdale doesn’t get half the recognition he deserves. He is one of the best rock vocalists ever. His vocals on slow & easy are out standing.
I agree.Although Robert Plant did see them as a Led Zeppelin copy.
Underrated. amirite
@@mauricetrotter6010well fuck that guy Led Zeppelin in my opinion respectfully. Are overrated. Never liked them. They make goofy ah Harry Potter type beats
Pretty sure he's recognized as one of the top rock vocalists of all time. He was when Whitesnake were huge, that's for sure. There was no-one else close. One of my favourite all time vocals.
According to who? Maybe if you were born yesterday.
For me, Coverdale. one of the best hard rock vocals!
The second best for me, just coming after Freddie Mercury.
For me is the best with sebastian Bach young
Don't forget Paul Rodgers and Bon Scott.
What a f*cking great song
Scared Joe Elliott of Def Leppard sh*tless from what I understand, when they were recording in the same studios
Never more humankind will have another David Coverdale. He has got the most powerful voice in History of Rock and at the same time most tricky- changing short and long distances, sudden stops, amazing emphasizing of words at the right time, giving all of his soul in the song. Simply, the best ever vocal in History of Hard Rock. No more another like him- 1000% sure. "Fool for Your Loving No More" epic and never surpassed by anybody.
hes great, but come on? 😄 there are better. Plus his vocals weren't always on form live (however, he seemed to always give it his all, so...)! Legend, yes. The most powerful voice in history of rock... sadly, no!
@@briancunningham9037 Freddy Mercury? Devin Townsend (not strictly rock)? Rob Halford? Axl?
I like Coverdale too, but honestly, did you ever heard RJD?
Back when there was real rock.
One of the best Rock singers ever.
yes, they are led zeppelin. 1 Whitesnake 2 best hard rock band
So true!
Steve Vai on guitar and the beautiful Tawny Kitaen. RIP, Tawny,. You made the 80s burn bright.
Steve Vai крутой гитарист!
80's is the best... I want to go back..
Me too good old days life was good then now it sucks.
R.I.P.TAWNY you will never be forgotten
I can’t believe she died wow
A rock goddess
Memory Eternal to her.
How she was beautiful ...
What?! What happened to Tawny?
I am grateful for having lived in the 1980s, as there will no longer be a time like this, unfortunately even in this century that there will be an 80s will never be the same as the 20th century.
in general music went downhill after 1975.1977. The 80s were full of plastic people, disco, rap and hiphopshit, synthesizers where there should have been Big Hammond organs, drumcomputers in place of the imaginative schwungmeisters thar buld on old jazzmasters, vocals from 3rd ratenew wave idiots, and so on....... And thats just a part of it.
@@marknolde3541 Your dead on about the shitty synths that replaced the analog keyboard and organ sounds. Hammonds, fender rhodes, these things are "timeless" where as those early synths practically scream 80s!! Some otherwise good albums of the time have gone back and replaced some of these horrible misjudgements with better sounds like Floyds Momentary Lapse album. Dave Gilmour said we were trying to embrace the technology of the times , the only problem was it was the 80s😄
listen BAND-MAID if u dont already ;)
TRUTH!
Me too born in ‘76 80’s are my foundations!!!!! I still kept a lot stuff like high tops BMX cars and a lot 80’s paraphernalia! 80’s are one of the greatest decade ever ❤
EVERY incarnation of this group is a super-group...The talent that has moved through this band is mind boggling. I wish we could've heard another album with Vai in the lineup. I gotta think it would've been crazy good.
What bands are you talking about? I just started listening to 80s rock after buying an 84 trans am
Facts.
For me the original 1987 line up was the best, still got he original LP..
This is the comment I’ve been searching for
@@barred16 NIGHT Ranger Y&T Judas priest Iron maiden Scorpions Motley Crue YA THOSE ARE MY PERSONAL FAVORITES SO HAVE A DRINK KICK BACK ENJOY
What an era to have lived through, so many fab songs... memories ❤️
So true my friend. Best decade ever for music, movies and TV imo.
@@williamwilliams293 1989
@@garycarr3857 you’re right my friend
Hair. LOL.
I think this version has one of the best rock vocals till now. And vai is amazing as always.
I remember some people complaining that Vai was to flashy ofa player for white snake
David sounds like he was imitating Sammy Hagar on this version. The original is better IMO YMMV.
Amazing vocals by Coverdale and guitar by Vai--what a combination!
Just imagine Sykes playing on this. Vai is a great, no doubt, but Sykes style would destroy Vai''s contribution within this context. Sykes would energize this tune with his tone and attitude. Not to mention his style fits better than Vai. Missed opportunity due to mutual egos.
@@spacejockey4746 some would say Whitesnake just guest played on this Steve Vai album...lol
@@DonaldKoller Yes. It's certainly weak-sounding record compared to Whitesnake '87.
To be fair, Vai contributed very little to this album. The songs were written by Coverdale and Adrian Vandenberg. Vai came in to do overdubs and the odd solo after Vandenberg injured his hand. He then went on to tour the album with them. If you want to hear what Steve Vai’s take on the song is listen to the version in the link below after listening to this one. Then you’ll really hear Vai’s stamp on it.
czcams.com/video/M4sNckiZ2U8/video.html
For information the song was on Reading and willing (1980) ...its micky moody and Bernie madsen.
Its not , american probably you are may believe a composition of the Slip of tongue album .
Its a re recording.
Like Crying in the rain and Here i go again were re recording from the saint and sinners album (1982)
so Sykes and Steve had nothig to
Do with the Song writing of the tune .
some of the Whitesnake music will never ever age.... rock forever....
Steve Vai is freaking wizard behind the guitar.
CC Deville was 5-10x more of technical wizard
He's never behind the guitar lol that guitar is his bitch
Agreed !!! He and Reb Beach are the best hired guns ever
He’s one of the best ever
@@thekongstocks What?! He doesn't even come close to Steve lol.
The best rock voice David Coverdale!!!
What band!!! Unsurpassed Coverdale and Steve is doing the most beautiful 30 seconds (2:40 a 3:10) of Hard Rock's solo in the 80's!
Oh facts lol...i like vai but always preferred vandenberg to be honest.. Vai did hype this album up though.. Some fans like his contribution some don't I guess.... But gotta admit he did school Adrian on this one 😂
Sykes.
Vandenberg and vai in those moments
Whitesnake forever !
I'm 19 but I love this band
This is because you are smart, have good tastes, and have standards, values, great perspective, and everyone want to make mad sweet love to you!
Nice, haha. I wish _I’d_ heard of them 10 years ago!
Whitesnake was my favorite concert EVER!🔥
I love 80's metal !
really ?)
Me too
You just love it? I live this 😁

Whitesnake & Vai: One of the best partnerships of all time!
This version is killer. The whole album is a banger and Steve Vai's guitar playing is incredible ❤❤
Best guitar duo, Adrain and Steve
though Adrian dind't play on this one, as he had injured his hand.
My favorite Whitesnake song. I could listen to WS all day long, But there's so many other good ones and they deserve our attention too.
Great guitarist that Steve Vai. He’s himself. Natural brown hair, smooth moves on stage. Just ultimately cool!!!
If you ever get the chance go to a Vai concert. Saw him on g3 tour back around '04. Believe that was with Malmsteen and Satriani. Great guitarists in their own right. Before the show heard alot of fans putting vai down. He gets on stage, starts playing. Silence. Blew them away!
But Bernie did better solo! Way more memorable.
The combo of vandenberg and vai! Great!! Plus sarzo and his wicked bass playing! What a dark but inspiring song!
Doesn’t get much better than this. The perfect song to listen to when you have a breakup
The perfect one is the first version
I just can't stop listen to it over and over again!!!
A dead body could come alive with the energy from this song!!!!
Tommy's fill at 3:24 is classic Aldridge. He just has something that is so unique in his playing.
I just randomly got this stuck in my head and had to listen to it now
Me too...just now
This was my breakup song. Which involved stupendous quantities of air guitar each time I did my 2 mile walk home from work.
Hahaha.. Same i did..
But what a break up song huh? Lol... Fair play
Still so amazing after all the years. Sounding so good, getting better by the day.. A long way from playing at St Georges's Hall Bradford, West Yorkshire early 1980's.. Fab event... Hope to see them again on my 60th birthday next month April!! xxxx
STILL my favorite WhiteSnake song ;)
Back in the time when music was real music..
That winning combination of long hair, power Stancing , that white Jag and the same hot babe doing the splits. Awesome.
Whitesnake was and is one of my favorite bands and still is. Their concerts, videos and songs are just so kick ass and awesome‼️. Also RIP Tawney‼️
This group is so underrated but I'm glad I grew in the 80's I love them. This song was my heartbreak song. My first true love in Jeannette she broke up after we graduated highschool. So went into the Army. And she got pregnant from some older guy and that hurt me even more while I was away from home. I'll never forget her sadly she passed away a few years ago R.I.P
Verse>chorus verse>chorus, bridge>guitar solo 90% of 80s music
Nothing wrong with that ;)
David Coverdale uno de los mejores vocalistas del rock duro, increíble voz
1989
Miss the days when rock had style... hopefully it's in cycles..and it will return.. style and good musicianship.
Except we'll be probably missing
This aint coming back.
Man did the band rock was awesome! David Coverdale gave his all, they are no words that can top his performance.
I remember thinking how beautiful Ms. Tawny Kitaen was in this video. I believe she set a standard. I feel like I lost my friend from college that I never met.
She wasn't in this video. I think he wishes she was in the Jaguar, though.
this is pure joy...
BEST SONG EVER !!!
Still listening to this in 2024. Amazing musicians all around. God, I wish I could have lived through the 80s. Long live rock n' roll!!!
"I was born under a bad sign " "Left out in the cold!" Love this track! " I gave u my Heart and u tore it apart, Ooo Baby you done me Wrong! Classic!
80s, when my hair looked better than my girlfriend's.
hahaha
:-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D oh boy....
Then your girlfriend what?
I really miss my hair.
What's wrong with that? 80's were the best, best music, best everything. If you didn't live then than you don't know how awesome it was.
Love the Steve Vai guitar playing on this track, This guy is on the Mt Rushmore of Rock guitarists.
David Coverdale is one of the best to ever do it! Hall of fame vocalist. Love this shit
What a song that he came up with. There are no words to describe his voice except mind blowing to hear !!! and the band and music is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Co written w/ Bernie Marsden (rythym guitars ) who sadly passed away today 72 he co wrote ' here I go again as well. Damn
Steve Vai is a brilliant! And amazing melodic hook in solo!
What an amazing skills of singing and guitar riffs.
And what an amazing amount of big hair, steel, guitar throwing, and tough looks.
😂
What a band.... new generations missed much!
Whitesnake what a belter of a tune in that year
first time I hear Whitesnake is today, and it's awesome! I wish I lived back in the 80's :)
Happy Birthday to David Coverdale; The great, enchanting voice of the band Whitesnake..
The first vid I ever watched on YT all those years ago, and the one that hooked Me!
slip of the tongue was a great album from start to finish
Yes!!!!🤩
THIS Is the type of music that should be played in shops, gym's, restaurants, NOT rap
People should play whatever music they want.
Still listening in 2022???? Dude I never stop listening 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
30 Years Later. David & the Music sounds Phenomenal. Great to see Steve Vai back. After a Brief stay with David Lee Roth,s Band.
i am and still loving it as much as when i was growing up and listening in the 80's this is probably my favorite whitesnake video of all time
Love Coverdale & Steve Vai !!
Love this song I remember playing this super loud in my car.... great music memories ❤️👏👏.
I can’t decide which version I like better, but Coverdale is amazing in both🤘🏼 Such a legend😍😍😍
Steve Fuckin Vai. Awesome solo!
dont forget Adrian Vandenberg....
Adrian did not play on this record.. he had some problems with his hands... this is all Steve....
montserrate77 True. But Vandenberg , even thou he wasnt on this track is very Awesome and kicked ass!
YES!!! SIR!!!! STEVE"FUCKING" VAI!!!
Wish Adrian had a bit more of the spotlight instead of vai ,looks like vai is schooling him in this video lol shame he messed up his wrist I guess bitchin tune and video tho
Long live rock and roll.Keep rocking forever more.
Whitesnake simply PERFECTION!

steve vai, monster.
Marcio armindo jorge he took that Gary Moore tanasity and john Sykes free form to another level, for a hack he done very well
him and Ibanez invented the seven string
Vai is a ponce, a poser, and a creepy, cheesy, widdle merchant
Vai and Vandenberg 🇳🇱👍
Vai is 1 of the best guitarists around....don't believe me then catch 1 of his gigs
Thank you!! I love Whitesnake!!!.
It's amazing song
Great GREAT band! Saw them live twice during the Whitesnake and Slip of the tongue era. Brought talent, grit and class in a genre suffering from lack of substance and parody.
Little Stevie Vai! Guy was awesome and still is!
This song is so amazing!!!!!!!
Whitesnake is just awesome
I love both this Americanized version and the slower, lower, singier Brit version. Both are great for different reasons. Whitesnake is one of the most underrated rock bands in history. David Coverdale was a beast.
Energetic. , hats of to David Coverdsle
Hit for all the time.Time can pass, but this song remains
REST IN PEACE TWANY KITAEN.
Been almost a year since I've been able to watch this. Crying as I watch this video..Since Tawny has passed, I honestly could not bring myself to watch this, or any other day video she was in......God bless 🙏
For me best song from Whitesnake
Steve Vais sound is unmatched!
RIP Tawney the beauty of the era
NOT
This remastered version with Vai’s solo piece is just awesome ! Bang on !! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
This song is so sick it should be in quarantine
Outstanding Vai's performance!
David coverdale ❤️ perfeito 😍
Greatest song ,white snake david steve and the band
Brilliant Line up and Video.....1990
Steve Vai always makes tender love to his guitar
Man that fucking vibe...
One of the greatest ever
Que cálidad!!! Ver a Steve Vai tocando ese solo!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️👌Y Coverdale...impresionante como siempre
In 1980 version, bass by Murray was a prominenty badass part of the track, in 1989 - Vai's guitar :))
I think the original song in total is better, vocal line, bassline, solo, whole thing
