- Thanks to bamboo training for suggesting to try the COC NO.2, this gripper is a lot harder than it looks. Sometimes i can close it and other times I am just short, I think it has to do with my technique for where i position the gripper in my hand. Hope you guys enjoy ! So i just bought all this peanut butter cereal for nothing
Captains of CRUSH not Crunch.
TheNylon100 I think it’s his accent lol
@@TXetc He definitely said crunch, neither aussies nor kiwis say crunch and mean crush lol
Freudian cereal slip
that's not a knife...this is a knife
I for one am a faithful follower of the cap'n crunch grip strength program. Thank you bud for the video.
Great video mate, Props to u for taking up the challenge. Im really interested to see how ur forearms are going to adapt to these insane loads.
Just bought the 1 and 2 (1.5 out of stock). This is impressive to see. I can’t close the number 1 at 140lbs so a long road for me. Great quality products!
I failed on the 1 aswell but I kept going and and I have closed the 1 for 6 reps now after a few months. When I am 18 years old I want to be able to close the 2 I have a littlebit more then two years
@@monkoko6441how you doing 6 months later bro
wow your grip strength is excellent. If that's the first time you have attempted a C0C 2 then your grip strength is way above average. you should keep training with the grippers. I think you would be able to reach a coc3 if you keep up the grip training awesome effort mate.
@TheAutostyle
Do u think closing the captains of crush on the very first time using one as a 15 year is good?
@@michaelcarrion5962 What number is it?
@@DaddysFastestSwimmer oh I forgot to say it was the number one.I am now able to do about 5 reps.
@@michaelcarrion5962 That's very good. You haven't even finished puberty yet. Keep training.
@@michaelcarrion5962 Very good and congrats micheal. I wish I had learned about strength training and the amazing benefits to the strength, core, health when you develop great grip strength. Keep at it and you may reach Coc 3-3.5 levels and beyond my friend. I also love the ghp grippers , heavy grip and GD 90.
Yea that COC no.2 is a beast.. I bought it in mid October, and only able to close that shit 2 days ago... almost 4 months of grueling grip trainings
Excellent first attempt out the box! CoC grippers are really difficult
2 week full body isometric hold training challenge would be awesome to see how effective isometric can be if they were specifically focused upon
dude holy shit respect. I can only close the trainer right now...and almost a 1...nevermind a 2....
Good video, Have u done the #3 yet?
Well done!
whoa that's amazing
Very impressive grip. Farm boy my whole life and closed it multiple times first time out of the package as well. Captains of Crush 2 was the first gripper I ever got, and just got the 3, about a centimeter off. Hoping to certify in 2017
NICE!!!
Matt Darling
That's impressive! It took me a while training with the COC No 1 before I could close the No 2. If you can close the No 3, you have world class grip strength! I'm quite a ways from it for sure!
Good job Bill! Keep your pimp hand strong!
Matt Darling how'd this go?
Bamboo Training lmao maybe
Any more progress how far have you come since this video. You on the coc #3 yet👍
can you do a 2 week sit up challenge? I want to do one myself but its hard and I know if you do it I'll be motivated to keep going
Keep up the good work bro
I have heard that they will exchange a two for a three for a small fee...ask them.
great video. and great grip!
Congrats on the close. You could do 1000 rep sets on that plastic thing and it wouldn't really predict whether you can cloee a #2. I've been working up to it for months.
Very nice man. My top grip on a dynamometer is 81.5kg. I can just about close a 1.5 CoC, but won't invest in a CoC no 2 until I can do a few reps.
Ps they go up in 0.5 increments so there is a 2.5 between the no3
No 3 is getting towards very elite range so good luck with it😁
You can also do negatives with a 2.0 and 2.5 to get stronger faster. Just dont over train. Get rated grippers so you know exactly the increments to advance to new levels
Jedd Johnson could point you in the right direction buddy. You have a very strong grip but there are many tweaks you can do, placement and set wise. You are strong enough to close it already - it's a set and positioning issue.
Jedd is the best around at this stuff and he's helped me close a 2.5. He's a multiple Grip sport champ and his reputation is gold.
With a grip that strong and the right training you'd be smashing a 2.5 in a couple of months.
Good job brotha
hello bill.... a little question please
how big are your hand ? can you measure the length of it ?
also what is your height and your weight stats ? thanks :)
How do you choose online which level to buy? 100 or 150 lbs?
I got the 2.5 off bat. Too hard at the moment to close. I just got the #2 today . So close to closing the number two . These are my first two heavy grippers and been out of gym about two years . I think that’s not to bad .
Impressive with an improper set
Good work
Nice!
great vids keep it up
Cerealsly, though what a Kellogg workout for the forearms. Any other trix?
I'm close to closing my #2 now, some days I can't get far, think it's more tired than technique need days to relax
Nice! No doubt you've closed a 3 by now?
I just heard of them too. I don't quite have the strength I used to. I am starting with a number 1. Eventually I want to get them all. Bought a number 4 as well. Just because stock was low on that one for some reason 🤔
Yep the trainer and 1 and 1.5 are great starting grippers to build to phenomenal power and over strength
Good video. Can you do a few reps with a 100 kg power twister?
Wow I haven’t seen one of those in years. Currently injured 🤕 , but definitely once I’m back to training 👍
Well done big guy, trust me you are fit to close number 3!
Nice caption of crunch...
You know your grip sucks when you can't open the damn package without a knife.
how much lbs it is?
Do you work at General Mills? 🍯
So, you didn't do 100 reps with a number 3?...
Looks like one of the few genuine captains of crush videos! 👍
Had one man close the number two in my workplace. I did it myself. Shit is beast. 2.5 soon.
Great job! im currently trying to close 1.5 :)
Luce throndr good luck it doesn't take long to build up strength with these
Have you done it yet? I just checked how storng my hands were and apperently I could close the no 2 two to three times.
I tried captains of crush 2 i can close it very easy for many reps but i cant close the 2.5 yet like 3cm left
Look up grip and lift they are in Australia and sell the captains of crush grippers mate
If there is a 5 mm gap left for a No 2 CoC, you're missing about 8 kg of force.
Approx formula is: (70 - mm left)/70 * 89 kg
if you assume theta ~tan theta (small angle approximation) and linearity of spring force relatively to the angle of deformation
This gripper's torsion spring gets a bit harder at the close even though the graph looks linear, its not exactly linear(maybe because its rubbing against each other harder at end range). Plus its not 70. Its around 72-74. Another mistake is this analogy of your about missing force is theoretical and incorrect practically. There are people who can close a #4 but average person can maybe move it by 7-8 mm. That doesn't mean that the person closing coc #4 is 10 times stronger considering the coc #4 is 75-76 mm in spread
Just got my 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 in mail. Was humbled to find I couldn't close 2.0 with either hand (very close with both), and I pull 495 for reps and have large hands. Time to go to work, baby!
Damn I pull 345 and Im thinking of getting 2.0 . Im going to have a lot of work to do
@@GR-uc1gq The Iron Grip GD 90 might be worth checking out. Six different settings, from a nice easy warmup level all the way through to true grip monster level. They cost more than COC grippers, but I think it's worth it.
I've been trying for a few years. I could never close it completely, always 1-2mm short. Maybe my fingers are small
Have been about to close it now? I think we both know it has nothing to do with small fingers because if you can close any CoC gripper under a 2.0 fully then that logic falls apart since the grippers are the same distance apart and size except for the spring at the top... 😄 Hope you got it closed now. Not giving you a hard time because I’m still 2-3 mm away from closing the #2 right now and I have been using these grippers for the last 3 months and when I started I couldn’t close the 1.0 so it just takes time and effort to work up the ladder. I have small hands but now can close the 1.0 and 1.5 so I know it has nothing to do with hand size in regards to the ability to fully close those grippers but I’m sure bigger hands help with leverage to an extent but it doesn’t mean small hands are incapable of closing the gripper if the strength is there. 😉
@@firnameweren5311 you are wrong on so many levels that I think it would be too much to explain. Not always all grippers have same spread distance. You definitely don't understand distal and proximal joint mechanism. Its easy to tns grippers with huge hands. Its not a simple logic. Op is right cause ofcourse he has trained and put some serious efforts with grippers. But I know what the future responses will be. So let it end here
@@firnameweren5311 you actually have zero clue on what yiu you are talking about my friend, the bigger the number the bigger the spread of the gripper, hand size has a lot to say on these grippers
@@charizard6969 you actually have zero clue. I own ALL Captains of Crush grippers from the Guide all the way to the 4.0. The spread is the same on them all.
Hand size is probably also a big factor.
yeah, smaller hands are an advantage (not very small ones though)
captains of crunch lol, holy shit i dont wanna crunch on these.
I have one different brand mines 40 kg 88 pounds and i struggle with with that !
Super weird, I'm suddenly craving cereal for some reason...
🤣
I've been grip training just to open a jar of pickles I bought a while back... I'm now moving up to coc 2 and it's still not open
Lol Justin. You'll beat that jar up in time..Im training now to no set crush my strong 3( around 155-163 rgc) and my ghp#8 rgc rated 179lb..( got the ghp 8 to beyond parallel now 🤠👍) So takes time but careful training you'll get results. Be sure to subscribe to my channel and join conversations in the comments my brother. Lots of brothers of strength on there and man it's so awesome to see the progress in levels of strength. Also recommend you getting a ironmind blockbuster pinch block or the genie pinch block training for grip and over all power for punches kicks and just a great strength builder. Lets get stronger in 2022!🥊🥊🗡🗡
@@shel0016 thanks for the advice :) I'll look into it
Almost closing the 2.5
For any future australian viewers coming to this video, GripAndLift sell these in australia
I just got the CoC number two yesterday and closed it 2x on the first day. I didn’t set the gripper with my off hand and didn’t use chalk either - I just “winged it.” It’s my first CoC gripper. I’m not trained on grip strength, don’t lift weights, and have a desk job. My hand is definitely fatigued today from those closes because I’m really not used to the exercises, but I do think I could work up to a number three given how relatively easy it was to close the number two without training. I’m guessing my grip strength is just above average naturally even though I don’t think anyone would guess it by the looks of me (not huge, no visible veins popping out everywhere, etc.). I want to see if I can go up to a number three and get certified. I can’t say it was a lifelong dream of mine, but it would be cool to have something unique to brag about 😁
Bro I ordered a 200lb one from amazon and I’m so close to closing it. Fit like 2 pennies and I’m there. But holy crap it’s so hard to close this lol
That’s the hardest part getting them to close. You will get it 👍
I can close the number 3 of golden grippers and almost number 4. number 4 is about the same as coc 2
how do I best get from 1.5 to 2?
the 1.5 I manage only with difficulty
Judge Dredd Do as many reps as you can and hold it closed for as long as you can on the last rep. Have a sort of regimented routine of number of days a week you train grip strength (4-5 for myself so I still have recovery days).
@@TXetc Crap read only now, get no notification. I will try it. Thank you
@Grip Mania India below average grip strength i would say. Starting off i had enough strength to deep set a trainer. Now i can deep set a 2 and tns a 1.5. What got me that strong was a mixture of heavy volume with lots of sets say 5 sets of anywhere from 1-6 reps with perhaps an amrap afterwards with say the .5. As well as high rep work to condition the tendons and ligaments as well as just give the heavy work a break. Say sets of 10-20 with the trainer slow eccentric. I Also train grippers 4-6x per week and supplement with an alive multivitamin and creatine. the vitamin is good for tendon recovery and the creatine for overall strength. I look forward to continueing progress with the same method, it took me 5 months to get this far and i expect a long road for the 2.5. It seems to take 3x as long to reach the next gripper so since it took me 3 months to close the 2 after the 1.5 i expect it to take another 6-9 months for the 2.5. I also used handbands and finger push ups to build stability
Train yourself to get 12 reps on a lower rating
So say your starting point is a trainer once you get 12 reps there move up to the 0.5 for 12 reps then the 1 for 12
The 1.5 then you will be ready to do the 2
@@user-ci3go7qk5y Ouch, okay, I can only do the 1.5 once every time. maybe 1-3 times but then it becomes difficult. And I think I sold the 1 series :/
Hey how to buy this product and give me link to this product
amazon
I can close a #1 about 10x with each hand, so I just jumped to the #2.5 but am about 4 mm short...
me to i can rep it 15 times
Number 2 is warmup
No one ever mentions tendon strength which this is SO much about..............................
It's nothing like crushing a potatoe lol. Just try to crush one and you'll find out.
Can you please do a giveaway
What a Price of coc2
If I'm wrong but and they are the same then you're very fuckin strong, if you get to the stage that you can rep it 10+ times then you're ready to try no 3
I closed the 1, 1.5,and the 2 first try even made the handles clack together enough to make noise you can do it buddy work on how you hold it for a day or 2 and youl have it on bouth hands
lol crunch
Captain crunch 😂😂😂
Nice - you will need to do 10+ reps with the 2 before you have a shot at the 2.5. The 3 is a ways off.
Bamboo Training You might have an abnormally easy 2.5
look at your happy little face.
i have close number 3 your right there is a element of techique number 2 you have here does need serious hand strength im 5ft 11 and weigh 78 80kgs .number 3 is considered elite level crushing strength.i hold few world records in oyher grip feats.

*You couldn't do it then, you can't do it now. You'll never do it!*
i can do it 5 reps
beginner level
Dude, I find it hard to believe that someone untrained can close a number 2 first go, these new ones must be rated
umbered differently. I got mine in around about 2002ish I think it was, took me years to progress from 1 to 2, even 1 is hard to close when you're starting
There are some very strong people out there you would be surprised that coulf close it without ever having touched a gripper.
he's stronger than you
Yeah, samtimes if youre unlucky you get a really hard #2.0. My new #2.5 feels as hard as the 2 actually.
How can you tell that?!
COC 2 is a good achievement but not so hard for strong people with trained hands.
Hands can be trained for crushing in many other ways, not just by using grippers.
There are farmers, iron workers, roadworkers, powerlifters, gymnasts, carpenters, builders, plumbers, climbers, heavy furniture deliverers, woodmen, fishermen, wrestlers, mechanics etc. They all have trained hands, often to extreme levels. If you select the strongest 10% of any of them, challenge and show them how to set the gripper, they'll close the CoC 2 right away at least with their stronger hand.
The most I ever reached was closing the CoC 2.5 on 3 occasions and CoC 2 for 6 reps, both with the right hand, and closing CoC 2 for 1 rep many times with the left.
It took me like 2 years of light or odd training to get there.
I then quit training 5 years ago and just kept squeezing the grippers very rarely, like once a month, and now I no longer close CoC 2,5, just number 2 for 2 reps and 1,5 for 5 reps with the left.
When I started I had little trained hands but slitghly above average strenght and had done some climbing and manual labour years before.
On the first try I could only close CoC 1 twice right hand and with the left the Trainer 5 reps and I was millmtrs off to close the number 1. COC 2 was out of reach. But again, my hands were untrained and are not so big to have any good leverage on a big gripper like that
This video lured me back to the grippers... . A better lifestyle must have helped me regain some strenght despite not training: I just got 3 good reps on CoC 2 and I am back to 1 mm off from closing CoC 2,5 right hand and CoC 2 left hand.
Hand strenght, unlike other muscles, does not fade away fast...
Lol 2:11 thank me later

Why does no one have a pp
