    Don't dump it away, remove the suckers, and only let one side shoot grow (From between the leaves, not from the roots or flower stalk). It will use the already grown root system without needing to grow all the roots again. the plant will actually flower more than once this way without killing it and needing to regrow it from the start. The following pineapples are usually even larger.

    If you can't get the crown of the pineapple to root, don't give up, many producers drill the crown to insert the label and by doing that they make it impossible for you to plant it, look for the right supermarket which sell non-drilled pineapples, eventually you'll find the one!

So, I understand Part 2 correctly - the brand new pineapple fruit grew from that pot, the original pot you planted the top in? that's cool because I thought I would have to plant mine in the ground, now I know it's not necessary. Calcium carbide will burn the tip , the plant may get burn mark if the water too little. So you pour like a glass of water to produce the gas. If you are in Malaysia, you have better option, go shoppe or lazada and get the ANAA pill or pill nanas.

    Dans quel pays habitez-vous pour que cela pousse aussi vite ? Je vis en Corse 300 jours de soleil par an et mes pieds d’ananas sont encore tous petits après presque un an !! Je ne suis pas près de manger ma production 😅

      La Corse!! c'est une si belle île. J'habite sur l'île de Penang, au-dessus de la ligne de l'équateur. L’ananas a juste besoin d’un soleil très chaud et très chaud pour produire !

      I believe Dole definitely can grow much bigger if they want.....probably from an economical standpoint,they prefer to have standard size, and ease for packaging as well

      @TonysExploration  Před 2 lety +7

      End up in compost bin! Haha... I continue for a while and finally give up..the growth is way way too slow, I wasnt sure that is the nature growth rate or stunted growth, because that is mine first time experiment on seeds.

    How long from sucker to harvest? 2 years again or less? Had no idea pineapples took so long to flower and I can’t believe they only flower once, seems such a shame 😮

      I am in se Alabama and grew 13 this year. All much smaller than yours due to potting and being new to growing pineapples.
      We planted some of those in ground this year. They are alive even after a hard winter(for us).
      I didn’t know about any of the tips I just learned…but you can bet I will plant pups, fertilize and “burp “ as instructed…can’t wait to see.
      Also I have a tub with 6 plants in my greenhouse…stay tuned🙏🏻✌🏻❤️

      the store bought pineapple had a "Dole food company" label, so its probably a genetically manipulated, proprietary species .
