@@TheSimsLore I know this is an old post and that the sims 4 is also a different timeline if I'm not incorrect,but maxis has been recreating old households from previous games to download and they recreated the beakers along with two children of theirs. It states in the description their children are clones so perhaps this is more possible evidence he was cloned?
If you go to Sims Fandom, there are two Nervous Subjects in game files, one of which is Olive Specter's biological son which can not be resurrected as Olive has a memories of Nervous gave birth and Nervous took away by social worker when you first load in either Beaker family or Specter household.
The thing is sims who are taken away by the social worker wether it be a baby, toddler or child lose their family connection to the relative/s they are taken away from. Which could explain why Nervous isn't related to Olive
In my game he shows up on Olives family tree and he recognizes her as his mom in the game and while I was playing he asked her to hang out because he wanted to spend time with family. Or at least that was what the game gave a pop-up for. (Ive played the game very recently btw)
good point. On my replay i wanted to move Curious to live with Ophelia but thought that might be weird since theyre not listed as family, but i forgot about how they lose that connection when taken away.

One interesting thing about Nervous Subject is that if you look at his zodiac and personality points he only has 10 points and they're all in Lazy/Active. If you look at where the white lines under the beans are you can see he used to have other personality points but now he doesn't. Others have speculated that Circe and Loki may have influenced him to the point he lost those points as sims can gain or loose points due to the influence of others.
The Sims Lore The bella goth mystery has been revealed by someone (i forgot the link sorry but if you go to plumbellas account she made a video on it) and he kinda went through the whole storyline. no ones sure if it’s 100% correct but it seems very plausible. (sorry i thought i should mention that for some reason)
Lol, that story was more hype than fact, but it was a fun read! The gurus who created Sims 2 used to have chatroom Q and As before and after Sims 2 came out on the Sims 2 website. I remember they claimed that the towns released in Sims 2 were the towns they played while developing the game (hence the detailed storylines). That's why some original pics have hairstyles not found in game. Those hairstyles and clothes were later revised before the release. The gurus also said they accidentally deleted Bella's original character file before the game release. Mods had been trying to resurrect her through SimPE, but it wasn't working due to the deletion. The gurus created a new Bella in Strangetown, then they hinted at her possible appearance around town in a patch. Strangetown Bella was a new sim/afterthought/easter egg, so she never had memories to begin with.

I remember playing this family and I still let them torture Nervus. But Cerci actually got her promotion. Then I played as Nervus and I wanted him to actually enjoy his life so I made him fall in love with the first person he met (who was surprisingly strangely quick to marry nervous). One day, Loki brought Vidcunt home from work (despite them being enemies, they are coworkers I guess?). Funny enough, Nervus was in the garden, meeting up with his soon fiance as suddenly, out of literally nowhere, Cerci kisses her ex Vidcunt in the kitchen with Loki being around. Loki beat up Vidcunt, kicked him out of the house and smootched Cerci. I sat there in shock because everything happened by itself! I was so busy with Nervus that I didn't noticed at first what happened in the kitchen until I heard that wierd sound when people find out someone has been cheating! Sims 2 is so chaotic at times, I sometimes can't keep up.

The two Nervous's could mean the original was murdered by the Beakers. They cloned his DNA and replaced him. Still technically a son of Olive, but a clone who mutated to have a slightly different face. They passed him off as the original. The murder and replacement was so successful nobody noticed and Olive remembers the old but cannot really tell him any different as she has not seen him in years.
I just love The Sims 2 for having names that say a lot about the character. Some of them are made by wordplay (like Earl E. Demise) and some require knowledge about antique cultures, lores, you name them. Loki is the Norse trickster god, who is often believed to be evil. Circe on the other hand is not cruel. She is a daughter of the Greek Sun god. Her skin tone, and her maiden name might suggest greek heritage. Circe appears in the Odyssey transforming Odysseus and his men into animals, thus not letting them return to their homes. In this case she is a villain. If I am right she is also a daughter of the Greek godess Hekate. She is associated with dark magic, witchcraft, amd the night. She is not considered to be evil, but is feared by many. Dark magic and modern science may paralel eachother, so if Circe's mother was a scientist, then it might confirm this theory. Anyway, I love these characters, and there will always be more stories to tell about them.
I always make Nervous runaway with Pascal, because when i found out about his sexuality and the fact that the first time you play in the curious family he is there visiting the family, i was like is there something more here? And I came to the conclusion that yes there is something more so I always make then stay together! Nervous deserves some happiness and love (I mean everybody deserves to be happy and fell loved)
All children who get taken away in Sims 2 lose their memories (and knowledge) of their previous family in-game, so I think that's why Nervous doesn't remember Olive. He was also a toddler when all this happened. But your explanation definitely makes sense in relation to the Beakers expriments 😉
@@sea5063 Like the original commenter said, it's possible that his memories got wiped during the Beaker's experiments and that's why he can't remember; or as other people have suggested, Nervous got taken away as a child and as a result has no memories of his mother.
The secret nervous subject clone was actually used in a promotional video for the game, but he died. I guess they couldn't bring him back so they had to make a new one

I think a detail you could have elaborated on a bit is the fact that it's hinted at that the Grim Reaper is Nervous' father -- since Olive woohooed with the Grim Reaper and afterwards had Nervous. So maybe, after Nerous got taken away by social services, he somehow ended up with the Beakers; maybe it was money-related (like alluded to in the PSP version), maybe he just wanted to get out of the foster system by himself. In my head I always play it out like he's immune to dying (not by a lack of trying o the Beaker's part, of course) due to his relations to the Grim Reaper; so they figured "Why not keep experimenting on him in order to potentially create an elixir of life?"
I remember when I was younger I had him marry Pascal. Pascal moved in and they adopted two kids. I had Circe and Loki move out. My sister then told me that I was playing the game "wrong" because he was supposed to stay with the Beakers and be their subject.
Plus, that is only his backstory. Most people tend to get him out of there asap because we love Nervous and don't want him to suffer. Sims is about life change just as much as backstory.
OK so I thought that maybe Beakers took Nervous from Olive and blackmailed her to keep the secret that she is a serial killer, but I forgot the possibility that indeed the playable Nervous is probably another clone created by the techichians, so I'm joining your speculation about the twins but also so many other theories are being created in my mind! Ugh! Maxis needs to give us answers! Right?
You forgot to mention Loki is a figure from Norse mythology whereas Circe is a figure from Greek mythology. Also Loki is Scandinavian looking (and his parents had Scandinavian names ) whereas Circe is Mediterranean looking (and her parents had Greek names)

I think the reason for the 2 different Nervous Subjects is that the Beakers wiped his memories and developers had to make 2 Sims for it to work. As for their appearance, non-playable Nervous seems to have fuller cheeks so maybe he looks different now because the Beakers starve him. Could be a stretch but if I remember correctly when you start the game Nervous is performing the "stuff face" interaction that Sims in TS2 only do when they are extremely hungry. Orrrrr maybe it's just a clone. Could be the Beakers killed OG Nervous accidentally in one of their experiments and cloned him...
This household was too sad for me to play as a kid. I think his clone is the same as the Bella found in the Sims 2 code/wandering Strangetown. They're just separate beings for coding purposes. Though I guess for lore, its interesting to wonder if the aliens had done something. There is cloning mechanism in Sims 3 university and cloning machine in Sims 4. 🤷♂️
About that Nervous doesnt have any memories, once when I was little and played TS2 I had a family and...uhhh somehow forget that my sims have a child (duuuh) well and it was taken away, I was so angry that I maked another family in the same city, it was two men and I wanted to adopt a child and when the child “”arrived”” it was MINE child from the originál household but that kid doesnt remember anything and when I look in the family tree she had there only the two men but her real parents still have her like a their kid in family tree, dont know how is it possible but maybe it would helps you with that ‘Nervous and his clone’✌🏼
I had nervous run away with a male sim, they are living together, both at climbing the corporate ladder steadily, nervous is in the gaming career and his husband is a in law enforcement (my story is that he saved nervous from the beakers while investigating them) they are madly love and are now wanting to adopt
What ea was thinking when they made the Beakers? High-key torture and kidnapping. I always deleted them of my game, it made me feel horrible even if I was only 10. Couldn't play my household knowing the next house had a torture chamber...
I had a lady sim who ended up meeting, falling in love and married to nervous. They had two kids a nice house and nervous was a brilliant dad and doting husband. I loved him he was a special wee muffin. If the beakers came over to Visit my sim would destroy them.
The Clone Nervous that can only be found in the files is probably an Older version of Nervous Subject. The sims 2 has A TON of duplicate sims hidden in the files, and most of them are very glitchy and are missing alot of Data. The most likely reason why they remade nervous is because the hidden one had alot of outdated data. As some of us know, the sims 2 went through lots of changes during development, which would obviously cause some sims to start behaving in ways that can only be fixed through optimising them to fit the new data so to save time they had to remake as many sims as possible and hide the old versions. But for some reason they never remade the glitchy Deceased sims in strangetown. For example there is a hidden sim Called "Knut Futa". Who died on Olive specter's property, but his grave appears to be missing. Knut does have data for stuff like his age appearance etc. but it's completely incompatible with the sims 2 a majority of us have. If you revive him he will appear as an adult deliveryman but acts like a Baby. If you make a sim interact with him in any way you will get an error. And he will corrupt your save file as you play. So revive him with caution. If you want to look more into these hidden glitchy sims. The Sims fandom wiki has got you covered so go check it out and endlessly browse the "glitchy sims" category like I do.

I always hate them and feel bad for Nervous and Vidcund. I don't understand people who still meeting and married Vic with Circe. It's abuse relationships. She don't deserve being with him. She is awful person like her husband. And Vidcund is just another Circe's victim.
Hey, nice to see you here! I totally agree, Circe and Vidcund is a NOTP of mine. From her mythological origin he's basically one of the men who got turned into animals that served her while pining. So yeah, he needs to break free from her! Luckily in my game it sometimes happened automatically in several different saves, because when he tries to make a move on her she always rejects him, and he always falls out of love (I guess his projection is being crushed). I always like to imagine that the Curious brothers help Nervous with escaping (or that they take him in when he escapes), and in the turmoil Vidcund has to face his painful situation with Circe in a dramatically satisfying way. At last he not only realizes that deep inside she's actually despicable, but also that he actually doesn't want to be in the place he has been in for a decade or so. Then she acts like he's betraying her through his breaking free, but that only reinforces his choice.
I've been playing Sims since childhood, but as the kind of player who always made and followed my own families, I only learned it had actual lore recently when I got back into the series and started finding videos like this. This channel is an absolute treasure trove! getting all this in depth lore for each of the families has been so interesting, and it really makes me want to get back into TS2 and 3 and actually try playing through one of the set families for once!
I moved Nervous out to a empty lot, built a nice house for him and now he has a husband (Pascal) and two kids, as well as a cat and dog. The lot's haunted though, but otherwise their life is great. I felt too bad for him, ok?

I've made my own interpretation based off of the facts I was given. So the real nervous subject was taken from olive and the beakers took him in (of course) and maybe throughout the time the real one was alive he dated annie. Soon after he died and they cloned him, but because he was dead and the fact the technology wasnt as good as the alien technology (and seen with bella goth) he came out looking different and because he is a clone he has no memories of his mother and olive doesnt recognize the clone as her child. It makes me wonder though.... did the original nervous subject have another name?
In my game Circe left Loki now and she had a kid with Vindcund but since i sorta regretted it I made them as new sims in a neighborhood I downloaded called Sedona!
My theory is that the Hidden Nervous is the original one, since he is the one which Olivia rememberes giving birth to. Maybe the Beakers accidentally killed the original Nervous, so they cloned him, so noone would know that they killed the original Nervous. Sorry for grammatic mistakes.
Nervous Subject is Olive's son because if you look at his family tree you'll see his mother is Olive.Also if you look at Olive's memories Nervous was taken away so that's why he doesn't remember anything and don't have memories of Olive or Ophelia

I always hated Loki and Cerci so much. I made Nervous run away and join the Curious household and then lock up Loki and Cerci as they just tinkered with their machines and eventually died. It was sad on the PSP game version that he died from their abusive testing :( I felt bad for him. Maybe their testing was so extreme that he forgot his mother and their memories? Which is sad.

I wanna bet that Cersei Lannister is in some way inspired by the same Circe from the Odysseus extended universe. She bewitched men and turned them into animals which she held captive, and which simped for her. It's a bit like what Sims 2 Circe did with Vidcund, and it's also like what Cersei does, especially with Jaime. And I think Cersei also tried to seduce Ned but he's immune against thot lmao.

I once actuly made a story with my created sim that kind of generated automatically when my game glitched and i couldn't leave the beaker lot for some reaspon. after I visted their house hold..insted of getting annoyed I just created the story that they captured her. Tortured and experimented on her..and the entire game session was spent attempting to escape the beaker household with limitations on how I could do this. when the glitch cleared up on restart It was cool..ended up with her fleeing to the big city to blend in and escape persuit by her captors.
In my game I got the cowplant and set it to the beakers backyard. Every time they greet an npc passing by the house, they will go straight for the cowplants cake. So in my game they really are also serial killers 😂

I think the two nervous are a result of some.e devloper oversight. Strangetown bella goth is supposed to be the same as pleasantview bella but they look different as well
Circe doesn't get the promotion if you send her to work because she doesn't have enough friends. I usually have Nervous skill up on cooking and let Loki use the vacuum to steal his skill points. If you send Circe to work, she will bring home a coworker and they can play chess to build their friendship. Circe starts getting the heart farts for her new friend - she's bi. There is a lot of LGBTQ going on in that household. Not only is Nervous gay, but there is an implication that Loki and Nervous have some kind of BSDM thing going on, so Loki and Circe are both on the Q spectrum. Also, clone Nervous inherits money when Olive dies. I think there was some server fire that caused a lot of the corrupt files. A lot of the back story comes from Metropolis.
Gah older sims games has the best lore and I always find myself recreating these unique families in the sims 4 and getting rid of the original ones like the pancakes because they’re not nearly as cool and mysterious as older sims families :,)
There's two just because of development purposes and the Strangetown corruption. Especially with the memories and olive buggy lot. Probably a lot more safe to make a new sim. The reason he looks different is because he was probably a lot later on before they remade him and there was changes to create a sim, or it would've been impossible to clone. The other reason maybe that they just wanted to edit him. Don't give the developers top much credit, they'd have never thought back in 2003 we'd be looking at the game in this detail 😂
Loved this video! I never played much with the Beakers nor with any families in Strangetown all that much but this is so well made and it just reminds me of how much I loved playing the Sims 2 on my slow 2002 HP laptop back in 2006 and 2007; it would take half an hour to load the game and going to community lots was too impracticable!
I think there's only supposed to be one Nervous Subject. I don't think the two versions look all that different. I think that it might cause game problems if they're the same sim.

i think that the two nervous subjects are clones and that whoever is making the clones is just not that great at it which is why they look slightly different, just like the two bella goths look slighty different. maybe the same people who cloned nervous also cloned bella
Yeah, that's the same person. One of them looks different in memories cause he was probably made in cas, when the other was coded. This is why some simps are diffefent like Bella Goth and her clone

@@sea5063 Like the original commenter said, it's possible that his memories got wiped during the Beaker's experiments and that's why he can't remember; or as other people have suggested, Nervous got taken away as a child and as a result has no memories of his mother.

I think a detail you could have elaborated on a bit is the fact that it's hinted at that the Grim Reaper is Nervous' father -- since Olive woohooed with the Grim Reaper and afterwards had Nervous. So maybe, after Nerous got taken away by social services, he somehow ended up with the Beakers; maybe it was money-related (like alluded to in the PSP version), maybe he just wanted to get out of the foster system by himself.
In my head I always play it out like he's immune to dying (not by a lack of trying o the Beaker's part, of course) due to his relations to the Grim Reaper; so they figured "Why not keep experimenting on him in order to potentially create an elixir of life?"
We must protect Nervous Subject at all costs, I feel so bad for him 😣 Also, I REALLY hate Loki, although Circe isn't that much better
I remember when I was younger I had him marry Pascal. Pascal moved in and they adopted two kids. I had Circe and Loki move out. My sister then told me that I was playing the game "wrong" because he was supposed to stay with the Beakers and be their subject.

OK so I thought that maybe Beakers took Nervous from Olive and blackmailed her to keep the secret that she is a serial killer, but I forgot the possibility that indeed the playable Nervous is probably another clone created by the techichians, so I'm joining your speculation about the twins but also so many other theories are being created in my mind! Ugh! Maxis needs to give us answers! Right?

You forgot to mention Loki is a figure from Norse mythology whereas Circe is a figure from Greek mythology. Also Loki is Scandinavian looking (and his parents had Scandinavian names ) whereas Circe is Mediterranean looking (and her parents had Greek names)

Circe’s father, Xanthos, has Greek roots. While her mother, Grainne, is from either Ireland or Scotland. She was Circe Salamis, also she has s as blood from McGork family from her mother.
I think the reason for the 2 different Nervous Subjects is that the Beakers wiped his memories and developers had to make 2 Sims for it to work. As for their appearance, non-playable Nervous seems to have fuller cheeks so maybe he looks different now because the Beakers starve him. Could be a stretch but if I remember correctly when you start the game Nervous is performing the "stuff face" interaction that Sims in TS2 only do when they are extremely hungry. Orrrrr maybe it's just a clone. Could be the Beakers killed OG Nervous accidentally in one of their experiments and cloned him...
This household was too sad for me to play as a kid. I think his clone is the same as the Bella found in the Sims 2 code/wandering Strangetown. They're just separate beings for coding purposes. Though I guess for lore, its interesting to wonder if the aliens had done something. There is cloning mechanism in Sims 3 university and cloning machine in Sims 4. 🤷♂️
About that Nervous doesnt have any memories, once when I was little and played TS2 I had a family and...uhhh somehow forget that my sims have a child (duuuh) well and it was taken away, I was so angry that I maked another family in the same city, it was two men and I wanted to adopt a child and when the child “”arrived”” it was MINE child from the originál household but that kid doesnt remember anything and when I look in the family tree she had there only the two men but her real parents still have her like a their kid in family tree, dont know how is it possible but maybe it would helps you with that ‘Nervous and his clone’✌🏼

What ea was thinking when they made the Beakers? High-key torture and kidnapping. I always deleted them of my game, it made me feel horrible even if I was only 10. Couldn't play my household knowing the next house had a torture chamber...

I had a lady sim who ended up meeting, falling in love and married to nervous. They had two kids a nice house and nervous was a brilliant dad and doting husband. I loved him he was a special wee muffin. If the beakers came over to Visit my sim would destroy them.

The Clone Nervous that can only be found in the files is probably an Older version of Nervous Subject. The sims 2 has A TON of duplicate sims hidden in the files, and most of them are very glitchy and are missing alot of Data. The most likely reason why they remade nervous is because the hidden one had alot of outdated data. As some of us know, the sims 2 went through lots of changes during development, which would obviously cause some sims to start behaving in ways that can only be fixed through optimising them to fit the new data so to save time they had to remake as many sims as possible and hide the old versions. But for some reason they never remade the glitchy Deceased sims in strangetown.
For example there is a hidden sim Called "Knut Futa". Who died on Olive specter's property, but his grave appears to be missing. Knut does have data for stuff like his age appearance etc. but it's completely incompatible with the sims 2 a majority of us have. If you revive him he will appear as an adult deliveryman but acts like a Baby. If you make a sim interact with him in any way you will get an error. And he will corrupt your save file as you play. So revive him with caution.
If you want to look more into these hidden glitchy sims. The Sims fandom wiki has got you covered so go check it out and endlessly browse the "glitchy sims" category like I do.

I always hate them and feel bad for Nervous and Vidcund. I don't understand people who still meeting and married Vic with Circe. It's abuse relationships. She don't deserve being with him. She is awful person like her husband. And Vidcund is just another Circe's victim.

I totally agree, Circe and Vidcund is a NOTP of mine. From her mythological origin he's basically one of the men who got turned into animals that served her while pining. So yeah, he needs to break free from her!
Luckily in my game it sometimes happened automatically in several different saves, because when he tries to make a move on her she always rejects him, and he always falls out of love (I guess his projection is being crushed).
I always like to imagine that the Curious brothers help Nervous with escaping (or that they take him in when he escapes), and in the turmoil Vidcund has to face his painful situation with Circe in a dramatically satisfying way. At last he not only realizes that deep inside she's actually despicable, but also that he actually doesn't want to be in the place he has been in for a decade or so. Then she acts like he's betraying her through his breaking free, but that only reinforces his choice.
I've been playing Sims since childhood, but as the kind of player who always made and followed my own families, I only learned it had actual lore recently when I got back into the series and started finding videos like this. This channel is an absolute treasure trove! getting all this in depth lore for each of the families has been so interesting, and it really makes me want to get back into TS2 and 3 and actually try playing through one of the set families for once!
I moved Nervous out to a empty lot, built a nice house for him and now he has a husband (Pascal) and two kids, as well as a cat and dog. The lot's haunted though, but otherwise their life is great. I felt too bad for him, ok?

I've made my own interpretation based off of the facts I was given. So the real nervous subject was taken from olive and the beakers took him in (of course) and maybe throughout the time the real one was alive he dated annie. Soon after he died and they cloned him, but because he was dead and the fact the technology wasnt as good as the alien technology (and seen with bella goth) he came out looking different and because he is a clone he has no memories of his mother and olive doesnt recognize the clone as her child. It makes me wonder though.... did the original nervous subject have another name?

In my game Circe left Loki now and she had a kid with Vindcund but since i sorta regretted it I made them as new sims in a neighborhood I downloaded called Sedona!
My theory is that the Hidden Nervous is the original one, since he is the one which Olivia rememberes giving birth to. Maybe the Beakers accidentally killed the original Nervous, so they cloned him, so noone would know that they killed the original Nervous.

Nervous Subject is Olive's son because if you look at his family tree you'll see his mother is Olive.Also if you look at Olive's memories Nervous was taken away so that's why he doesn't remember anything and don't have memories of Olive or Ophelia

I always hated Loki and Cerci so much. I made Nervous run away and join the Curious household and then lock up Loki and Cerci as they just tinkered with their machines and eventually died.
It was sad on the PSP game version that he died from their abusive testing :( I felt bad for him.
Maybe their testing was so extreme that he forgot his mother and their memories? Which is sad.

I once actuly made a story with my created sim that kind of generated automatically when my game glitched and i couldn't leave the beaker lot for some reaspon. after I visted their house hold..insted of getting annoyed I just created the story that they captured her. Tortured and experimented on her..and the entire game session was spent attempting to escape the beaker household with limitations on how I could do this. when the glitch cleared up on restart It was cool..ended up with her fleeing to the big city to blend in and escape persuit by her captors.
In my game I got the cowplant and set it to the beakers backyard. Every time they greet an npc passing by the house, they will go straight for the cowplants cake. So in my game they really are also serial killers 😂

I think the two nervous are a result of some.e devloper oversight. Strangetown bella goth is supposed to be the same as pleasantview bella but they look different as well
Circe doesn't get the promotion if you send her to work because she doesn't have enough friends. I usually have Nervous skill up on cooking and let Loki use the vacuum to steal his skill points. If you send Circe to work, she will bring home a coworker and they can play chess to build their friendship. Circe starts getting the heart farts for her new friend - she's bi. There is a lot of LGBTQ going on in that household. Not only is Nervous gay, but there is an implication that Loki and Nervous have some kind of BSDM thing going on, so Loki and Circe are both on the Q spectrum. Also, clone Nervous inherits money when Olive dies. I think there was some server fire that caused a lot of the corrupt files. A lot of the back story comes from Metropolis.

Gah older sims games has the best lore and I always find myself recreating these unique families in the sims 4 and getting rid of the original ones like the pancakes because they’re not nearly as cool and mysterious as older sims families :,)
There's two just because of development purposes and the Strangetown corruption. Especially with the memories and olive buggy lot. Probably a lot more safe to make a new sim. The reason he looks different is because he was probably a lot later on before they remade him and there was changes to create a sim, or it would've been impossible to clone. The other reason maybe that they just wanted to edit him. Don't give the developers top much credit, they'd have never thought back in 2003 we'd be looking at the game in this detail 😂
Loved this video! I never played much with the Beakers nor with any families in Strangetown all that much but this is so well made and it just reminds me of how much I loved playing the Sims 2 on my slow 2002 HP laptop back in 2006 and 2007; it would take half an hour to load the game and going to community lots was too impracticable!
