Many large celebrations have been cancelled across the UK, with nightclubs closed in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, but earlier today Mayor of London Sadiq Khan confirmed that London will have a fireworks display.

There was a 3-minute long monologue after Big Ben bonged before the firework display started, so the fireworks started around 3 mins 40 secs past midnight. Sky News, an American Comcast subsidiary, were in all the wrong places at the wrong times.
Big Ben never chimed.

It was officially announced as cancelled way before this and at the end of the day it’s just a bunch of fireworks that happened every year, it’s not that big of a deal! And people knew what they were getting into, nothing major lost. There’s always something to complain about I swear

The event, which was originally cancelled, is actually going ahead following announcements from City Hall today.
They did.....further down the river Thames. BBC had it all.
They did do fireworks exactly as they said- and they were amazing people who went into London put it on themselves- they could of just watched at home like the government had said.

What a complete shamble
Spent the evening in London. This reporter obviously wasn't around Waterloo Bridge,parliament Square and the London Eye area as it was absolutely packed from 8pm.
Restuarants busy as were many pubs and bars.

Horizon to horizon out in West London. Secret public display so 12 people don't get covid for 3 days, meaning across London 10,000s of back garden displays took place, with probably 100s getting injured, and dozens badly injured! The logic is amazing!

Sky News messed this up massively. This coverage is embarrassing considering the display that BBC showed. Sky were in the wrong part of the city! Watch the BBC clips for those wondering ‘is that it’ .. no, there is waaaaay more.
What was on BBC was CGI. This is real coverage.

It was the same thing like in Seattle year ago. people were filming tower through their windows and TVs at the same time. nothing was happening around the tower. Whole show was just a bunch of videos created in computer progrms
