    Thank you for an excellent video. I watched several videos on this topic, but they all came up short. If you have an old E36, the common failure is with the little rubber grommet on the pedal lever. Once it cracks, the cable just disconnects and you are stranded. Fortunately mine disconnected at home. Great job! You covered everything without glossing over the hard parts.

    Awesome tutorial/DYI - thank you! I'm about to do this tonight and I'm praying my pedal will lighten up just as you've described. Thank you for putting this together! Great camera angles and very detailed. A+

    I just drilled the damn thing out. It was way to hard to get both sides pressed and then some how push it out. Question how did you get the rubber plastic thing to the top of the cable? Mine came behind the cylinder clip I’m going to go down now and move it to the tip somehow. No wonder my idle is all jacked up.

    So my cable become really super loose . Do i just unscrew the tightener to give it back tension?

    You mentioned the steering feels heavy. How did you fix it?
    I just bought a 98 M3 and I am having both issues, heavy steering and heavy accelerator. I will replace the cable.

    I had big expectations on learning how to replace the cable, but actually you do not explain it. At least, I know how to get to it... Are you planning a next video recording the replacement procedure? That would be very useful. Thanks for what you've uploaded.

      I am not sure how to make it more clear, at 9:30 you can see how to send the cable through the firewall. Have you watched all 19 minutes? Let me know if you have any specific questions I might be able to help you.

      Hi GS. You are right. Actually my e36 has a 318i engine and in that case it's much easier since the cable run over the engine and you do not need to remove anything. I solved it yesterday. thank you for your tutorial. I gave you a like

    My throttle body seems fine but the cable is very loose within the plastic cable guard?!?!

    is it really important to turn off the battery while doing this ?

    • @gsmecanica
      @gsmecanica  Před 3 lety +2

      It might not be that important at all. It’s best practice only but in this repair it won’t affect.

    You can just replace the bushing and not the whole cable

    • @gsmecanica
      @gsmecanica  Před 3 lety +1

      The cable suffers a lot the engine heat and it becomes hard inside.
