September 4, 2011 was my first smoke-free day. Today, I celebrate ten years of no smoking! I'll tell you the story of how that came to be, but first, I'll give you my initial impression of the movie, "Black Swan". I hope you enjoy it. :)

Congratulations Mary! I smoked maybe five cigarettes total in my twenties and it did nothing for me. I’m so glad because when I hear about the severe cravings people get, I couldn’t be so strong!!! I can’t even give up bad carbs!!!
I am so proud of you Mary! My mum passed away in 2009 from tongue cancer from smoking all her life, so for you to quit for your own sake I am so proud of you. I can’t imagine how difficult quitting was for you or anyone as I don’t smoke myself, but I’ve heard many stories. A huge congratulations on 10 years that’s just amazing! 🥳🎉🎉

Mary...hearing your story about smoking, the cravings and the doctor's office was like hearing you read out my own story... except it took me until 2018! It was one of the hardest things I've ever done...and you are so right, you have to be honest with yourself and do it for you! So proud of you! ❤

My mom quit smoking close to 25 years ago. Unfortunately she replaced it with food, which brought on a plethora of new problems. Addiction is rough. Congrats on 10 years and here's to many more.

Congratulations!!! My mother quit smoking when I was around 12 years old and she had smoked for years. I am now 37, and she said she still gets cravings to this day, but still has never smoked since then.

I don't know what it's like to have a have a bad habit but I know someone who does. So I understand when you say it's hard to kick the habit. So for whatever reason your Dr spoke to you in that manner on that particular day, it helped you to react and see life for what it is, precious. So I commend you for making that change. Your a stronger person than me Mary. I gave up smoking about 21 year's ago, but I don't have any cravings. I found it pretty easy to quit, I can't imagine having to fight cravings for ten year's!

Way to go Mary!!!! I was never a smoker but my husband was, and watching him quit was tough. He would still be smoking if it wasn’t for the juul. He eventually stopped the juul as well but definitely needed that as an in between!! This is something to be proud of!!!! Happy for you :)

I'm so happy for you. My brother was on two oxygen machines, confined to his living room because he couldn't walk more than a couple steps (the firemen had to arrange his one doctor's appt) and he couldn't really talk and breathe at the same time. Well, he couldn't really breathe at all. The lung transplant didn't pan out. His wife really misses him.

I started smoking at 15 and quit at 21 yrs old...I'm 43 now, I once in a while will have a dream about smoking or have a random craving and then it passes. Congratulations on 10 smoke-free years!!! 😊😊
Congratulations and thank you for sharing this story, you are inspiring. I went through the same thing you did. I started smoking at 17 and quit May 5th this year, for a total of 19 years. I've been ok until here recently, having gone through a breakup and trying to get out and meet new people again but I have held strong so far. Both my father and maternal grandmother passed away from Lung Cancer so I can only hope that I haven't completely ruined my lungs. Stay awesome Mary✌❤🙂

A milestone worth celebrating, congratulations Mary! I loved smoking and smoked for over 30 years and quit 8 years ago November 5th. I will say that Ecigs helped me because I was so afraid of having a craving and not having cigarettes. My best friend quit smoking using Ecigs too. I have made the same declaration, that if I get a terminal disease, I'm picking them back up.

Wow your smoking story is just like mine. I only stopped smoking when I was pregnant 4 different times. The last time I had twins. The twins are identical boys. They’re the babies. When you said you have 2 young boys to take care of . It hit me hard. Bronchitis all the time. Thanks for sharing. And I don’t like for people to get mad at me either.. I want to try using a vape. I was looking at them online. This feels like this video was for me. All day I’ve been thinking about it. It’s the biggest mistake of my life. .
