  • fixing a roller blind, in particular putting the string back on a roller blind.
Getting the chain back on to the blind mechanism can be frustrating especially when the cord comes of the blind and you don't know exactly how to get the cord back on the blind.
in the video you will see how i put the string back onto the blind to allow it to be opened and closed. nice easy fix.
if the blind is in warranty i would try to take it back if its covered, before trying to fix it as it might void the warranty on the blind.
IMPORTANT : the blind and cord should be installed correctly and in accordance to the guidance, legislations and instructions from the manufacturer, and can be seen on the GOV UK website, the cords/string/chain ect.. on blinds pose a strangulation risk especially to children. so it is important they are fitted safely, correctly and kept out of reach of children.
    thanks for watching

With all due respect, there's no need to go to all that trouble of dismantling the mechanism, I did mine in seconds by gently lifting the closed lip part with a flat screwdriver and slipping the bobble cord under, works like a dream.

Take the blind off the window, remove both ends, reverse the end with no chain and stick it in the back of the end with the chain, connecting the octagonal bits, then the mechanism moves freely.

This thing was frustrating lol but I got lucky by getting it apart by not cutting it so it is definitely possible without having to cut but this video gave me hope to fix my roller blinds 😂

Thanks mate, you saved me from getting a new blind and saved me from the wife! : )

  • @luke_s-b

This just happened to me. You don't need to dismantle, just pop the end of the cord in the roller and use a key to spin the roller so it pulls the cord through.

  • @handeableful

Finally someone has this type of mechanism thanks a lot !!

Brilliant! I pulled the cord out of my kitchen blind today whilst getting ready to paint. I finished at 4 o'clock and have been tearing my hair out for an hour and a half trying to get the cord back in ... watched the video and it was back in in a flash ... thank you very much 👍👍

Thank you, so glad I found your channel 😊. My new blind did not pull easily & was getting stuck, I could not return it as I had it stored for quite some time. After following your directions it works perfectly, very happy old lady!
