1 crucial point. What it can do is maybe put some mls talents on the spotlight. It can lead to some of our players getting hyped more and getting moves to europe sooner. This could be a good thing as this could maybe help us develop a world class player. We’ve seen it in the wc where 1 big talent like a james Rodrigues performs world class and goes crazy so many big clubs chase him after that. We could see it with a young mls player
That would be true if there were more than 2 or 3 MLS teams in the entire tournament. I guess we could see a guy like Obed Vargas, Reed Baker-Whiting or Leo Chu get their DeAndre Yedlin moment, if they are able to develop a lot between now and 2025. Not world class, but Europe-worthy perhaps. But like Tac said, MLS will probably do their best to shoehorn Inter Messi into the tournament, and that will probably suck up most of the oxygen from the MLS coverage. Being a Sounders fan, I do hope that you are somehow right and we are able to pull a world-class player out of our hat. But I am not holding my breath just yet.
@@alphabrainwave cremaschi can be something tbh. Inter miami have some young players
@@sushipizza4439 Noah Allen has a big opportunity as well to learn from Alba and even yedlin. Ruiz and Cremaschi soaking up mid field knowledge as well. I’m willing to bet those 3 head to Europe for some good fees if they have a good 24/25 campaign with Messi etc. combined with a good club World Cup run
@@TheHighLife4ev exactly. It can lead to more USMNT players being noticed in general.
I’m also a Palmeiras supporter and it was surprising seeing a video in English with a guy wearing my team’s jacket hahaha
Nice content!
My club is the New York Red Bulls. But I don’t stress about them too much. I do get disappointed when they fail to win MLS Cup every year and that no one shows up to the games.
Starting watching premier league last year and Aston Villa really caught my eye. Hoping they can grab a UCL spot this year!
They actually got a Champions League trophy too.
I'm a Seattle Sounders fan. As one of only two or three MLS teams to qualify, the pressure will be on to field a competitive team, especially with Lodeiro leaving and stalwarts like Paulo, Frei, Ruidiaz, Morris, and the Roldan brothers only getting older. This club will not be anywhere near the same one that won CCL by the time this tournament occurs, and they will not go on a dark horse run unless they get serious about recruiting high-quality international players and poaching more promising young talent like they managed to do with Leo Chu. If MLS wants to make your headline a reality, they need to give us the salary flexibility to make Seattle an appealing destination not just for good players but also for good clubs looking to loan guys out. But realistically, if your headline comes true, it will be the part that comes after '2025.' We simply don't have the quantity or quality of qualifying teams to make a deep run feasible in the next year and a half, as much as I obviously wish that weren't the case.
I’m excited about this tournament ❤ Merry Christmas Tac 🎅🎅🎅💋
Thanks Jeff and Merry Christmas!!!!!
MLS will never get to the FIFA Club World Cup final if they don’t change their ways
No actual athletes in America care lmao imagine lebron at striker ggs
I definitely think something needs to change for MLS to be more competitive internationally
If Inter Miami qualified and made a semi final or further run, it would probably help a ton in America and globally for the MLS. All the other MLS teams will get bodied tho.
You over hype Inter Miami. They couldn't even get out of 14th place with Messi.
Messi definitely changed the team's morale but the rest of the team is still the same trash bottom of the league roster
@@wuxiagamescentral that’s only half true. I agree they’d probably also get beat bad by the top teams, but they’d be by far the most competitive MLS team we could send and they couldn’t move up because Messi started getting injured right as they finished the US Open cup and basically didn’t play the last like 8 matches or whatever. I would bet they finish much much higher next year.
@@VIVE305 they couldn't defeat Chicago Fire what makes you think they're beating Braga or Salzburg much less Chelsea or Real Madrid
MESSI is over hyped and washed past his prime definitely retiring in the next three years need a different young mls team to get farther than Miami it would mean way more for the league.
@@wuxiagamescentralDude the team only played together a handful of times, and their season was over before Messi, Alba, Busquets came.
I recently (just now) decided to become a Roma fan. We’re winning it all this year
It makes me wonder. If this does work and if it becomes more prestige than the world cup, does this incentivize some world class South American soccer players to play in their Conmebol club knowing they have a chance to qualifying the club world cup? Commebol club team were as strong as the euro league back in the 50's through the mid 80's/early 90's.
The expanded Club WC won't become more prestigious than the FIFA WC. However successful it is, it won't alter the fact that the best club soccer is played in Europe and every ambitious player around the world will still want to play there.

The reason for the Intercontinental Cup is very simple, clubs can continue to compete for Sextuples in Europe
Signing the register from South Africa for Mamelodi Sundowns, who have recently qualified for the Club World Cup. Hoping to see them in action against my other club, Man City
Yh man 👍
Honestly as an Al ahly fan❤️🦅
I knew that sundown's would qualify even if they didn't win the Champions league
MLS has NO status with FIFA without USSF designation as the U.S. D1 league. USSF should pull MLS's D1 status and give it to the USL.
Tbh yes. MLS is a joke of a league
It all depends if Europe will take this serious
It is highly likely they will because of the prestige and financial benefits the expanded Club WC will present to European clubs.
@@jamesvass737 The clubs taking part might, most fans probably won't(particularly if their club isn't part of it), certainly not in England. Rightly or wrongly there's an increased resentment of FIFA's top-down strategy for marketing football/soccer which fans here think will make the game increasingly unaffordable to watch and could potentially kill off lower division clubs because the big clubs then get to hog all the money. I'm a Man United fan, my team won the current incarnation of this tournament back in 2008 and it's an achievement I was proud of, particularly as we hadn't won an intercontinental competition before(and haven't even won the Champions League since). My friend's a Burnley fan and she actually prefers to watch English second-tier football than Premiership football or Champions League because she thinks the competition is more equitable.
Very good video 👍
San Jose Earthquakes. If we had an owner who wanted to win things would be very different.
i believe the reason for the return of the intercontinental cup is nostalgia. here in south america, specially in argentina, the intercontinental cup is missed and almost nobody likes the formats of the club world cup.
also most of us do not like the new format of the intercontinental cuo that FIFA proposes. we only want a two leg match between the European and South American champions, we dont want asia or africa involved.
Football is not for south america and asia even some of the african teams can beat south america
Cry.
UEFA feels their grip on Soccer slipping.
I agree. It’s crazy mls is not trying to capitalize on this opportunity! Clubs should be allowed to spend however much they want. Who cares about parody
Parody is important. Especially if you dont have promotion/ reg. People need to feel their teams have a chance.
@@user-dp6ve5ng8h I think many people would pay to see an MLS game if they could see famous soccer players. Look at what happened with Inter Miami. I think people were more excited about seeing Messi than about seeing Inter Miami. Here in America it's more about celebrities than the actual sports.
@@nerychristian I think that only goes so far Nery. I get what you are saying but MLS is 30 teams now. If you start a season where 20 or 25 don't have a chance? It will destroy the league. Its not Europe who support their " clubs" in some sense regardless. If these teams cant compete for titles? They will fold.
@@user-dp6ve5ng8h When Messi joint Inter Miami, ticket prices for all teams doubled over night. And stadiums were packed whenever he was playing away teams. So imgine if there were at least like 10 world class players scattered across MLS. Stadiums would still get packed for almost all those games. And even the losing teams would be making money.
Parody is necessary to level the playing field. Without it, powerful entities would not be held accountable by comedians telling truth through humor. Parity, on the other hand, has valid arguments on both sides.
My club is santos Laguna in the liga mx and boy has I been hard being a santos fan

Palmeiras more likely Real Madrid never sends their best
Have you heard of Toronto FC
Independiente del Valle wins it
Seattle sounders. i was at the first game in 09 when i was 10. i was at the CCL final when we beat pumas 3-0 when i was 24. sad to see lodeiro go. morris is overhyped. christian roldan is our best all around player. Joao paulo is awesome. Raul ruidiaz needs to not be injured.
CWC will benefit Concacaf Clubs the most.
Feliz natal meu Porco 💚🐷💚🐷
As someone pretty new to the sport, I'm a bit surprised by the lack of hype around the Club World Cup. I understand having these competitions every year for its history hasn't brought the anticipation of the actual World Cup, but the new format seems cool. Historically the country World Cup is the most popular sporting event in the world, but we don't even know the host cities yet for 2025 meanwhile the full schedule is out for the event that is 1 year later. Also, with all else equal, I would be more excited to see the same teams I watch throughout the season compete worldwide since I would be more familiar with the players and narratives. Overall, I'm looking forward to this cycle of World Cups with Women's '27 too
No one cares about the Club World Cup. I’ve watched this sport since I was 3. No one is hype cause it’s a joke of a tournament as a whole. It’s like a middle school soccer game. No one will care. That’s why no one is hype. Making a 32 team tournament and playing it in the summer just makes it even worse. Players in May have CL matches, then in June you have international game, July would replace their vacation for the CWC, which will injure more players. In august, the season will start. This is a horrible idea as a whole
Plus they replaced it with a tournament people actually used to watch, the Confederations cup. The national champions of each continent, joined with the host nation and World Cup champions battle it out in an 8 team tournament. 5 games played at max, the winner is the champions of all champions basically. And FIFA replaced it with a tournament expansion that no team or fan base takes seriously. It’s a disgrace
@@pauleragbai The idea is to use the expanded Club WC to help elevate the status of club football outside Europe. Club and national team football are inter-linked and - ultimately - if football is to grow outside of Europe and South America we need club football to grow in harmony with national team football, not independent of it.
Ac Millan baby!!!!!!! Been a Millan fan and when pullisic came to them I became even more of a fan!!!!
Manchester United. Yes generic answer but Rooney celebrating at old trafford was the earliest memory I have of soccer in life and that passion he had was the first I remember from any sports athlete
Alnasser is out already so wat can de do now to qualify
Club America Vs Real Madrid would be a dream match up to watch. LAFC or other MLS teams have no chance on reaching the final
Club America has no chance either.
Newcastle united!! I've been a fan since the movie Goal came out.
My favorite football club is Aston Villa, kinda odd for someone in the US, but it us what it is.
Honestly I’m not a fan of this new format. It was fine as a yearly tournament. It needed better promoting and a better format. This just adds too many more matches for the clubs that would play in it. If it was straight knockout like a World Champions League type where you lose you’re out
Super interesting. With the format, and it being every 4 years, I could see UEFA, and maybe fans, take it seriously.
Watch the host club be Inter Miami 😂

Barca and Bayern flex their sextuple a lot, with the new Club World Cup happening every 4 years, (not to mention the new UCL format) from now onwards it would be insanely harder for any club to win a sextuple, and that's unfair. So, I think there should still be an intercontinental cup taking place instead of the club world cup happening every season to give clubs a fair chance of winning a sextuple.
Marking a register for a team from South Africa called Mamelodi Sundowns, if you are here like this comment🤭

Why do you say that USMNT is more important than MLS to you? They should be equally important because you cannot develop the NT properly if you have a weak league, unless you export most of your NT squad to better leagues, which sadly far too many countries outside Europe have done for years. One other thing the expanded Club WC will hopefully do is raise the importance of the Concacaf Champions Cup to MLS clubs and fans.
Im excited for the new format. Really stupid to bring back the intercontinental championship after getting away with the format change. A big selling point is that it wasnt every year!
Which football club tries to kill me? The Mighty Arsenal.

Why is the gold cup during the club world cup. Bruh
I think Alnassr will qualify to the CWC because they are the second strongest team in asia the first one is Alhilal which already qualify so what do you think 🤔
Please, take off this jacket. Palmeiras doesn't have the club's World Cup.
Here is Flamengo 🔴⚫
Viva Palmeras we love you Brazil❤ Cumming all the way from the continent 🇿🇦🇿🇦
just one problem. Majority of the footbol fan base favors European footbol over others especially not caring about what goes on elsewhere outside of Europe regarding footbol
Whats worse is majority teams are Europeans which same as countries I find it unfair. I get it that European footbol is where it start, but at the same time, it shouldnt even be completely European takeover as expected we will see all European clubs qualifying while everyone else doesnt and its literally a UEFA World Cup, same as with countries with its being UEFA Euro world Cup
Why hold the world cup in India
What it'll show is how bad MLS teams are compared to teams from other regions.
It could be quite painful....
F.C Internazionale, supporter @ San Siro for 15 years.
mls isn't even competible against Saudi teams, what makes you think it will be in a mayor tournament. 😒
More games more injuries
They should just have the cup with the same format. BUT have the lowest tier team host.
Only about money
ussf is bae
It will not flop at all, Friendlies are already packed to the max with these European and now that they’ll be a champion at the end, it’ll get even more attention
It’s gonna be free on fifa plus 😂
To a certain extent, top european clubs will just send their B teams with academy players to this tournament.
Why would the top euro clubs risk their best players to injuries in the summer and affect their chances in the domestic leagues?
@@myownlilbubble money money money
In less than a decade this will supercede the Uefa champions league and with the rise of the saudi league, and the spark messi is bringing the mls, we could see parity arise outside of the traditional powerhouse of uefa. Probably the most 200 iq move fifa could do right now and very good for the game going forward.
What makes eufa makes SO SPECIAL??? WHY ARE THEY ALWAYS GETTING MORE SPOTS???
So much potential in the new format of fifa club wc. Every 4 year😱🔥. Now the importance and valuable of this trophy will increase like fifa worldcup.
But clearly a dumb move for bringing back intercontinental cup.
It’s the Flat Earth World Cup
The Madrid ❤
I just dont see UEFA teams treating this competition as nothing more than a friendly pre season tournament. And they will still win it every time.
Liverpool played bad when they were an this tournament and still won just shows how weak this tournament is
I am supporteur of benfica but we all know real madrid is the big monster there as always
Arriba los Tigres!
I dont watch the mls because I don’t have a team to support. Without promotion and relegation if a team comes to my state (Arizona) it will destroy my USL team (Phoenix Rising). So why watch mls? I don’t like soccer enough to just watch random mls games. The only reason I watch foreign leagues is to support specific teams I follow. I don’t see that changing even if mls gets better.
The problem is that there will be too many games. FIFA changed the format not because they wanted to make the competition relevant, they just wanted MORE MONEY. Clubs don't want to put the effort that should be put into the League and Champions League into this crap. I prefer that one-off game for the CL winner.
Chelsea Chelsea Chelsea
From an English/British/European perspective...I'm going to say that I will probably watch this new tournament and support the English teams involved but that the selection/qualification process for this is an utter joke. Yes, Chelsea won the Champions League back in 2021...since then they have completely collapsed, aren't even competiting in any European competition this season and are unlikely to compete in European competition next season, certainly not the Champions League. They shouldn't be anywhere near this sort of tournament and so most European fans will continue to not take this sort of tournament seriously.
I have no idea how clubs qualify for this "ranking pathway" and neither do most European fans.
You want 12 UEFA clubs in this competition? Here's how you do it:
2024/25 Champions League. That also will have a new format, OK fine. Quarter finalists from that competition qualify for this one. That competition will also have a seeding system for the knockout stages based on group stage performance so let's take advantage of that. Four highest seeds that don't make the quarter finals qualify for this tournament as well.
Similar deal for the other continents.
My favorite club is Chelsea FC.

MLS is the most competitive league in the world but when compared to others? They need more money
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣💅💅💅🤣🤣🤣
not even competitive lol.
they should of made this 16 teams 😂
Juve amore mio 🤍🖤
Real Madrid is my fav club
The point is to bring about a balance of power.
Now let me ask ..U know that since 2013 UEFA has Dominated this competition with a European team winning it since then with Man City being the most recent champions..U really think that if COMEBOL had continued their success with that Corinthians victory over Chelsea Till now winning the tournament. Do you really think that the Champions league would be seen as a Equal to the Copa lebertadores 🤔😒😒..
The answer is No...The Copa lebertadores champion won't need to even bost of their superiority because the Stats will speak for them.
The club world cup isn't meant to produce the best in Europe, South America, Africa, Asia, Noth America or Oceania...No it's to know the best team in the world and it's not something you just win...u actually have to dominate a continent before you qualify for this tournament. So don't say it like the standards can change.
This club world cup might actually be the biggest treat the U champions League will face.
But to be honest... based on the numerical Advantage and And quality Disparity it's most likely that a European team will win it.
So that just shows their pedegry as a Confederation but don't underestimate the others. Football is becoming more Global and The balance of power is becoming more... how should I say this.."BALANCE" as there is more even distribution of quality around the world and this new format of the Club world cup will be what ignites the fames to a new Era of football.
So let's just sit back and enjoy the show ❤🥰🥰

No one will respect this, is a complete mess that will screw players fitness, players contracts (due to the awkwardness of date placement) and it's ultimately just a big cash grab with no coincidence that it's being held in the US, a place where sports are businesses and shows before being sports.
Shame.
European fans don't care about random clubs outside Europe.

Why so many UEFA teams
Competition for places is higher in Europe due to more countries that play high quality football than any other continent. So to make it fair, Europe is given more places so that as many high quality teams can qualify
They need to allow USL play in the CWC as they already are thinking about adding Promotion and Relegation

Will the FIFA Club World Cup surpass the UEFA Champions League??????...
The answer to this question is simple, the Club World Cup "WILL" become the number one club completion, surpassing the European Champions League, and for one very good reason. In fact, it would already be the premier international club competition if it had done what it should have done in the first place i.e.... STAY IN ITS LANE!!!
What makes the FIFA World Cup so delicious has always been the fact that it happens so infrequently, by mirroring its big brother, it will reap similar reward. The European International Champions League cannot hope to compete with its global equivalent once FIFA stops trying to compete with it on a year-to-year basis.
Once upon a time, the English FA Cup used to be the most sought-after trophy, even more important than winning the league.
Why?...
Because once upon a time (unless it happened to be a World Cup year) it was the only live football game you would see on television. That made it soooo special to both players and fans alike. The two main TV networks would give it priority programming starting from early in the day. Nowadays, with so much live football on TV, nobody really cares that much about it, certainly not right up there at the EPL level.
The FIFA World Cup on the other hand has not lost any of its appeal in the face of so much live football. And it never will. That four-year wait is always worth the wait and the FIFA Club World Cup on a four-year cycle will reap the benefit of this as well.
SIDE NOTE: Had FIFA Implemented this format when it first had the idea, it would have been even more interesting and garnered even more interest, because back then there was a lot more parity between the leagues, certainly more parity between the European and South American Leagues.
In fact, if the history of the Intercontinental Cup is any indication, the South American Clubs would most likely have come out on top.
And Africa would also have carried much more weight because most of its best and brightest players (like Cameroon Legend Roger Milla) would still have been playing for African clubs and no doubt would have viewed the tournament as the best way to get snapped up by bigger clubs.
