Aja Dang needs to be a vocal leader for the Asian American community. She's setting a great example for young women like me living in America. Thank you Aja Dang.
I would like to see a video on how you find work as a freelancer
Love this video idea, fun to see how much things cost in LA. Impressed that you don't buy take away coffee!
I don't drink coffee! I also don't like spending $5 on tea, I think that's stupid.
:) I think once you realize how much take away coffee costs you in a month you start living a caffeine-free life :D
Every time I visit LA I always forget about the high costs of parking. It can really eat away at your spending. I'm a snacker as well. I'll generally eat left overs to help save a few extra bucks.
TruFinancials parking is seriously the worst. The funny thing is that Beverly Hills has the cheapest parking in LA lol!
Yesss, Aja! Get those budget sponsors, honey! Your finances series is always so refreshing, so this was a great partnership. ❤️❤️
trynna make that bread while still staying true to my content
Hi Aja! I really enjoy watching your budget vids. They have made me conscious about my spending. Thanks so much!
100% in love with these videos Aja! Thank you for being so open and honest with your budget, super refreshing and inspiring x
Thanks for motivating me to get my SHIT together before I *HAVE* to REALLY get my SHIT together. Being mindful and proactive about how my role as a consumer affects me mentally is a difficult task. Lots of habits to break.
This is even better than what I eat in a day!
more interesting right?!
Aja Dang absolutely! Thank you for being so open and real!
I'd definitely spend my $100 on Amazon buying books for my family. We love trips to the book store and reading together to become more knowledgeable.
Oooo looooved this version of your money diaries, Aja! It was super interesting seeing spendings/investments broken down from a monthly budget to how things are actually spent realistically throughout the week. I agree that when you see how much you've spent when the week goes on, it'll make you think twice on spending on other things. Thank you for sharing!!!
love this type of vlog! would def love to see another!
I love these types of vids from you aja. Safe travels!
I loved this. I hope you turn it into a series.
i love ebates! i would use it for new running shoes because a girl is in need of some new ones and nike always has the best cash back percentages!
This was really good! Definitely do more of these types of videos!
i so love that you do these videos. its incredible!
Love these vlogs!!! Please keep doing them!
Substituting vegan mayo in place of regular mayo is the safest vegan substitution u can make. Regular mayo is just oil and egg yolks. Vegan mayo is essentially just oil (and natural flavoring). The egg yolks don't impart much flavor. I totally encourage u to try that dip recipe with vegan mayo. I'm pretty confident u wouldn't be able to tell any difference.
It's so cool how you genuinely help the shelter animals rather than just saying it even though you are on a budget and it's not cheap to take in all these animals and take care of them
I love this kind of videos!!! Please do more.
Love this! Vlog meets budgeting, I’m in!
Love these types of videos. I’m a new subscriber. Love the channel!
Love this kind of Video!!!
This was so cool! Thanks for sharing. Please do more of these videos!!
Also you could monetize these fairly easily if you start doing them regularly because you are talking about products and services the whole time. 😉😉😉
Yes more money vids always. I live in Orange County and find your financial journey super relatable ❤️
Awesome! I'm really enjoying the budgeting series so far. I think you did a great job on your spending this week. Sometimes you have to make a mistake to learn from it, happens to everyone. Keep it up!
Love this idea !! I might actually do this for myself to help watch my spending habits
The thing I learned from this video, is that I love my chiropractor even more. He charges me $25, because he does this as a side job now. It use to be free with medical insurance, then he retired but still took me in. Once you find a good chiropractor, it's hard to find another good one. Took me 15 years to replace my other good chiropractor. It's like trying to find a good dentist.
$25?! WHAT? $100 is cheap in LA lol
Aja Too bad you live far away from me, I could hook you up. :) My wife started going to him and she likes him too. I also love that he doesn't pressure you to come in like some of my previous chiropractors.
i love this video its a vlog and a semi financial thing all in one
I would love to see more of these!
I loved this video!! Please do more :)
I’m an elementary teacher for students with disabilities, and $100 would be so helpful for me to buy new supplies for them 🖍📚
Why do you have to buy supplies out of pocket?
Me Me a lot of teachers do, every state is different but the budgets for public school don’t provide everything students need
Lynn Ly, that is terrible. I never knew that. Thanks for letting me know.
I'm a private special education consultant from Canada. Do you have a paypal account? I'd love to help you out with buying supplies. I know the struggle firsthand.
Me Me yep I spend close to $600 a year on my students. Not only on supplies, but clothes and food. I also provide them with money for things like field trips.
I love this kind of videos and I'd love to see more :)
Hi Aja, I love these videos!
This is very insightful. Thanks!
I could definitely use this for some medical supplies I’ve been holding off on. For my sister who’s battling leukemia. 💕
Moving out to LA soon. I would use it to definitely stock up on some essentials for the new apartment!
I would love to see more of this type of content.
Loved this video more please!
I love you for doing videos like this. And you're looking radiant. I know I haven't been as up-to-date as I normally am with you, but that just means I'm hustling hard. Always in support of practical, useful, relatable content like this. xoxo
ya girl, you're busy. Take care of your hustle
More of these types of videos please!
I love this!
I'm moving to new town to start a new chapter. Will definitely need to save every cent to furnish the new place!
Loved this video! do more aja(:
I love that you use passion planner !!
I really liked this video! I hope you make more of these in the future! I know it's difficult to spend money only on the things that we really need, but it's not impossible :)
So sweet of you to help foster that dog! 😭
I’d spend the gift card on household goods for the move at the end of the year!
I would use it to add on to my baby step 1. Yesss girl! 🙌🏽
yes girl, get that baby step 1!
Love your budget videos. And I saw you paid off a big chunk of your debt! Congratulations! I am lucky to not know what a student loan is, but can imagine how much stress that puts on a person.
When I was a student I was going out with my friends to presentations of toilets and floor tiles for food and drinks only, as we could not afford “real” going out.
Love ❤️ to see these weekly spends!
Found them very interesting though I don’t spend what you spend in a week at all or even half of that to be honest!
Aww Wylder’s is where I rescued my furry best friend, Mochi! Good for you for doing something so kind and opening your home to that cutie! Sending you love and hugs, and hoping to run into you one of these days in LA!
Really like this vlog style video. It helps to put in prospective our spending habits. I would buy a pair of summer sandles and some shoes for my kiddos with the $100 Ebates gift card.
GURLLL. I'mma buy the whole 9 items that I have saved in my cart but never had to balls to checkout... amongst those are cat coasters, gua sha, pusheen mug and reusable produce bags!
I think you did really well. That parking in LA though...I wish I had more events that don't require me to spend.
I already have an ebates account! Ebates is soooo helpful. If I had $100, I'd used it to help me with grocery shopping or new clothes for this upcoming semester! I'm a struggling college student so the last thing I need is to worry about food and clothes.
Excited to start using Ebates! I am going to buy some luggage using Ebates and if I had $100 I would buy some new makeup
I'd spend it on getting furniture and kitchen supplies for my new apartment :)
I would buy skin care products because my face needs it this summer ! Thanks aja :D
Stuff for my new apartment before grad school:)
Things like driving in LA traffic and parking make me double think moving to LA. I really liked this video Aja- and I love your monthly budget videos too. Currently using your budget spreadsheet. I just recently moved from a room in NYC to my own apartment 🙏🏽 I don’t even have utensils or toilet paper 🙈 You’re inspiring! Thanks for the rover link! :)
wow, from a room to your own room... in NY?! that's amazing
Aja Dang Yes- it’s cost me over 13K to do that and I’m constantly hustling! #NoDaysOff to afford it in NYC. Luckily, the building is pet friendly so after I pay the debt, I’m going to a pet rescue and expand my home with a loving dog 😍
Doing your financial journey marathon 😍
I'd be interested in seeing a grocery haul as part of this series!
I didn't do too much grocery shopping out of my spinach roll haul but I'll definitely do that next time
Yes makes more if these videos please 😊
Another great vid from you, thanx for making me feel a little better on this shitty day. PS: I love mayonnaise too. Take care :)
MAYO IS THE BEST! (and we all have shitty days, don't let it get to you)
You inspire me to foster doggies one day. I lost my dog of 16 years recently, so I don’t feel emotionally ready. Plus I wanna be more financially stable. I’m finally going to start teaching this August. Yay!
wow - that would be amazing! Fostering is the perfect situation for you bc the rescue/shelter will give you all the supplies so (ideally) you won't have to spend any money. Congrats on the job!
I would buy more supplies to make my cooking videos with!!
I love this type of video! I hope you continue it as a series. If I had $100, I would put it towards my student loans. I'm still in school, so I don't have to pay them back yet, but I'm trying to pay the interest off so that less money gets capitalized when it's time to pay them back 🙃
you're so pretty!
Loved this format and I love eBates! With $100, I would buy some home decor items because I just moved and some summer clothes if I had any $$ left over. Thanks for the give away 😊
Thanks for sharing your personal spending. I try my best to write my spending in a journal...but sometimes forget. I love ebates! I have $$ and it really helps me shop for my family. Can you imagine shopping with a 6 yr old? $100 would support needs for my little one and moi!
I love ebates!!! I try to get that double discount when I use groupon. Im probably gonna use the $100 for Amazon though
I am just now moving out to go to college in another town, since I don't have enough money to purchase/rent a moving van, I have to buy all my furniture, silverware and toiletries. The $100 would be a blessing since I currently only have enough for my rent, deposit and groceries. But good luck to everyone and I hope y'all are having a nice summer! (:
nene w I'm in the EXACT same position. Can we be best friends?
Madison Coleman Girl of course! (:
You can find some low cost used furniture on Craigslist, and sometimes you'll get lucky and find some for free! You can also check local church/thrift stores for furniture too.
Nathalie Jabbour craigslist has been super helpful, I also don't have access to a truck, though. My issue is layered like an onion, haha. Moving out for the first time is tough!
Oh wow, thank you! That'll help out a lot !
Aja have you read money diaries on refinery 29? They’re super interesting/addicting! It’s basically a money journal for a week and the diarist include their take home income and expenses and how they spend their 💸💸
ya I saw one episode, I didn't know they had more. I really like that series.
omg that pup 😍
Hi Aja! I love your videos! I’m moving to Portland to finally pursue a career in social work. I have many interviews coming up and $100 would be truly grateful to buy an interview outfit at Macy’s! It would be great to not have to hide the holes in my super worn business outfits lol. I’m all about budgeting and your videos remind me that my sacrifices for financial freedom are worth it!
wow - thanks for looking into social work.
I LOVE your personal finance videos!!! I am in the Baby Step 2 - just $4k left to go then I can start my 6 month emergency fund!! I'm so excited. I'm trying to accomplish zero spend days. It's surprisingly hard. You basically have to be a hermit, but ya know BEANS AND RICE AND RICE AND BEANS!!! ♥️✌🏼
Would love to see a grocery haul at Whole Foods.
Idk why but the $100 gift card made me excited about being able to finally buy ink! LOL Ink is so expensive and I've been procrastinating on doing that for months.
Thanks for the giveaway Aja!
Sharlene Lim it’s the little things! Lol
Flipp helps with looking through different grocery/pharmacy stores in your local area and you can scope out deals for the week that way.
Also Ibotta gives you cash back for groceries!
I’d use the $100 for my family of 6 (who’s about to be a family of 7)!!! Can’t wait to sign up for ebates now!
I would buy toilet paper and some other essentials because all of these things add up and I want to keep my money for other more important things like paying down my credit cards!! Thanks for your advice Aja
$100 would be so important for my school supplies that I need for the upcoming fall college semester!!
I've only started using ebates coz I mostly shop on Amazon as well but I live in Guam and the shipping is always ridiculously high 😥 that $100 giveaway could really help once I buy supplies for school this year.
I just started my new job so probably work clothes!
I need to buy more dog food too on ebates!
OMG I LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!!!! more more more more more!!!!!! if i had $100 i would buy haircare like deep conditioning treatments and hair oil. love ya
i love you!
Try the “just mayo” brand vegan mayo at Whole Foods if you haven’t already. It tastes just like real mayo
I’m a broke graduate student. Enough said. lol. I’m moving into a new place and I would by lamps and other home goods.
i thought that was my phone at 7:55 😂😂
I would use the $100 for face moisturizer and face mask. Beauty products for people with sensitive skin is not cheap :)
I would love to buy dog toys! And new harness for Luna and Nelson, my pups and Hanah my cousins rescue.
Hello! I would spend the money at Sephora.
I would use the $100 on a crib for my baby due November 💙
I am moving so I would buy some home decor and organization!
I’d probably use it for back to school clothes for my teenager.
I used to live in LA and I think I spent more on parking than anything else! It's brutal on the wallet. Just curious, why did you go grocery shopping the night before leaving for Canada?? A tip I practice, is to use whatever I have left in the fridge before going away to reduce waste or spoilage.
ya well.. I kinda thought Brian would pay for the groceries since I wasn't going to be home, but he didn't... still not happy about it
Im a student at UCSD, so I would spend the $100 on a new backpack, laptop case, and new work shoes!
With the $100 I would save it for my textbooks I am going to have to buy this upcoming semester. Cuz sis they expensive!
