Thanks bro. Sensor went out at night 500 miles from home. Dash had stabilitrack- traction control warnings. Reduced engine power so I took an exit, killed it a let it sit for a min. Restarted and was good enough to get down the road. Luckily right down the road from an advanced auto that had the part. She was kicking like a bull lol. Peoria, IL 17 degrees, windy and in the dark. Got it replaced in half an hour thanks to you.

It would be nice if you’d stop commenting all over these type of videos with this comment when in fact you don’t have a clue on what you are talking about. You don’t need a high end scanner, and if you don’t have any scanner to clear codes if it in fact is throwing a code or put it in limp mode, then unhook the battery and let it sit for a few minutes. If that doesn’t clear it, all you need is a cheap ass scan tool to clear it.

Question: Are you certain the trottle body spring loaded butterfly plate is to "pushed and held in"...while deciding where to manually turn the TPS gear slot to "line it up"? Wouldn't it be more appropriate to allow the spring loaded trottle body butterfly valve plate to rest in an "as is" position,....while lining up the trottle position sensor slot with a flat head screw driver? Otherwise, the new sensor POSITION will be slightly off, as when the plate is let go, the spring will move the plate the rod back to their relaxed position, ...also moving the TPS slot as well. This makes the TPS slot in and other than neutral position when the vehicle is started cold. Make sense?

So basically you drive a vehicle and you're at a stop light. The vehicle will sometimes not accelerate anymore. That's what a faulty tps sensor does. You go into limp mode. You will have a check engine light and you cannot accelerate.

I had 110K miles on it at the time. If you’re getting a random misfire code then it could be the fuel injectors. I had replaced all 8 as well. I didnt have any issues after I swapped the transmission and torque converter though which got me to 128k mikes before I ended up trading in for a ‘21 Yukon Denali. Fingers crossed no issues with this one.

Thought it was going to be electrical / computer due to other recent problem with blown fuse and dash messages, which was probably due to using portable compressor too long.
