I don't think the channel lands will drop much if at all seeing as they're still played in pioneer and modern, slow lands should see a huge drop tho as they're only really desirable in commander and obviously you only need 1 copy.
I love these videos focused on saving money! They're easily my favorite videos you guys put out! There are times where I wish I could tap Krenko, Mob Boss and double the number of dollars in my bank account, but alas his ability only works with goblins. It's nice to know when the best deals are available and think about what could possibly slot into my decks.
I love this kind of video, but as others have mentioned a bunch of these don't see standard play, so won't see price drops. Maybe for future videos like this it would be good to split into two sections - one for cards that see standard play (likely to be getting cheaper) and the other for a "set highlight" to remind us of other cool cards in the sets that won't necessarily be getting cheaper :)

Unfortunately I don’t see how any of these actually go down outside of slow lands and SNC lands. I’m not sure any of these saw any standard play and idk if anyone was buying paper cards for standard anyway. Pretty sure all those prices are commander driven. But appreciate the video regardless❤
Yeah I agree. This is less a “cards to buy after rotation” and more-so a “remember these exist” video. It would be great if they went down but most probably won’t.
I remember opening so much midnight hunt and crimson vow. So many deathcap glades and dreamroot cascades.
Tried hunting for ninjas from Kamigawa. Got Jin Gataxis and not a single rare or mythic ninja outside of biting palm ninja.
After that, completely took a break until Phyrexia all will be one.

I’ve said it once and I will say it again, Bootleggers Stash is a house in Chatterfang….to say it’s only good in treasure decks is a little myopic…if you have academy manufactor in play, it gets supercharged. Shoutout to Mirkwood bats too!….I run all in my squirrel deck 😊
I took bootleggers out of my dragon treasure deck. I found that I never had the other pieces I needed for it to make it worth while(token doublers, revel in riches, etc). I can see how it would slap in squirrels though.
Bootlegger’s is so nutty in my Rigo 1/1 token deck, I think I have almost every token doubled in that right now so when it’s out I’m usually at least quadrupling mana. It’s almost too fun. Almost.
Remember when people said this card would ruim commander back in the day? Well, this card is THAT good in Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest, as each land gives counters to your whole board.
I've put it on my Mazirek Insects go wide replacing Wave of Vitriol as a finisher because it was kinda of a feel bad card for my playgroup. Bootleger's Stash is a slower card but more resilient

The channel lands definitely aren't dropping much, if at all. They see play extensively in every format under the sun, so Standard, the least played constructed format, isn't going to affect Boseiju and Ottawara much
Yeah that's why I scooped up playsets in the first weeks of the set.
To be honest because of the extention from wizards i forgot standard was a rotating format. Thanks for the suggestion

Some of these are really good, but a couple aren't being played in the current standard. Expect a good amount to drop, but not every card that you're looking at in these will be going down. Great video!
I saw that too. Some of these cards are already only being held up in price by commander, so why would they drop?
Shattered Sanctum and Deathcap Glade are so much more expensive than the other slowlands because they're in the only two two-color combinations that weren't featured in the Doctor Who precons. Each of those precons had all the slowlands in its respective colors in it (which means that if you bought them all, you didn't get a single Deathcap Glade or Shattered Sanctum, but you did get three Stormcarved Coasts).
That really does grind my gears. My OCD hates the inconsistency on how lands are (a) printed and (b) reprinted in precons.
@@JustinNovack They even had a chance to correct for that with the bonus cards in the first two Doctor Who precons, but they decided to go with the checklands instead (Isolated Chapel and Woodland Cemetery). Which is even more annoying, because there were reprints of some of those in the precons, but not all of them (Sunpetal Grove and all of the enemy-color ones were missing).

Early in my magic playing career I ended up taking a really quite high power table hostage by using a slightly janky Progress Tyrant deck, getting 4 Vexing Puzzleboxes out so I could tutor an artefact onto the battlefield basically every second turn certainly helped lol
Looking forward to Kamigawa to rotate out just to pick up The Wandering Emperor so I can put her side by side with my Secret Lair Yoshimaru in my binder
I’m already loaded up on all the slow lands that got Dr. Who reprints, will be great to see the others get cheaper. Adeline is great too, my Shilgengar deck will get her if she gets cheap. Already run her in Eowyn and Caesar.
Kodama of the West Tree dropping would be awesome too, I have two of them but could use a third one. I’m not sure Standard is where the copies have been going, but any pressure off should help.
I sold my Ledger Shredder a while back, now that I play a Narset, Enlightened Exile deck, it would be cool to get one for cheap. Conniving is perfect there.

Doubt Toxrill's coming down at all due to rotation - nobody plays it in Standard. I haven't even heard of it for jank brews - in Commander it's going off multiple times before most opponents' turns, in Standard it's going off once and removal to get rid of Toxrill is more common while protection for him is less so.
I think Jetmir’s buff - flavour wise - is when he’s at the party, everyone feels good. But because he’s used as a win con usually, it does imply he shows up as the crowning jewel of the night and won’t show up unless the party is full. Like the final act of the night.
Like Rakdos LORs won’t show up unless someone has been hurt. Although it’s funny he’ll show up even if a goblin has stabbed someone for a cheeky one point of damage. That’s all it takes to impress him enough to rise out of his pit 😂

Most of these card's price tags and volume of sales are from commander NOT paper standard play. Proffesional face breaker for example is purely a commander card if anything its price will go up until its reprinted in another commander deck

It's strange to me how Mia is always worried about the worst case scenarios, such as an opponent having a bunch of indestructible permanents when you have a board wipe. Or an opponent having sacrifice effects/Farewell/Toxic Deluge/etc. to get around your Heroic Intervention or Tamiyo's Safekeeping. I know the "Commander Cards We Hate" vid is somewhat tongue-in-cheek, but hexproof and indestructible is still fire in green!
Like just because an opponent *might* have recursion doesn't mean I'm not gonna board wipe if needed (though yes graveyard decks likely benefit the most). Also, Vanquish the Horde is superior ofc, but 4 mana is still a fair rate to board wipe in 2024 IMO.
Removal doesn't only have to exile to the Blind Eternities, and protection doesn't only have to phase out of existence to be good. I still rock Damn for the flexibility of destroying a single creature or all creatures and think it's neat haha. My single favorite removal spell is Pernicious Deed. Maybe we just play in different metas, but y'all gotta give the texts "destroy," "indestructible," and "hexproof" some more love. ❤

A lot of the Standard cards that are/were played in meta Decks do not really find any play in Commander. The land cycles should be about the biggest drops in the rotation

They'll go down but then creep back up and probably surpass their price pre rotation
Slow lands are not coming down in price after Standard rotation. Unlike Surveil lands they're used far more in Commander already and after Standard rotation those sets aren't going to be opened. Those lands are going up in value after rotation, especially after the first couple of months.
A lot of these cards did not have prices effected by standard at all so rotation is unlikely to effect the prices at all.
27:32 "Copying" a spell doesn't count as "casting" a spell (most of the time), so this doesn't actually work the way mentioned with Ledger Shredder in the majority of spell copying situations. If you cast a spell and then copy it, that DOES NOT count as "Whenever a player *CASTS* their second spell." It's pretty important that you guys get this right.
From the official rules:
"707.10. To copy a spell, activated ability, or triggered ability means to put a copy of it onto the stack; a
copy of a spell *isn’t cast* and a copy of an activated ability isn’t activated."

I guess I didn't pick up on the hand of motion you made, meaning specifically" cast another spell that copies it" @@NitpickingNerds still pretty verbally misleading, but I do think it's worth pointing out specifically that copying the first spell doesn't count as casting the second spell. My Stella Lee spellslinger deck has plenty of triggers that copy spells, several of which copy the first instant or sorcery cast on a turn and those don't count as having cast two spells.

Noone is playing standard in paper anymore. So rotation won't affect prices at all
They forgot about giada the queen, offer, triomes, void remd, rumor, tspped fetches, slip...

He said the casting of the copy spell is what procs Ledger Shredder, so cast a spell, cast a spell to copy the first spell, that triggers Ledger Shredder
I was clarifying what Mia said, so if you cast a spell and then fork it, the fork triggers ledger shredder just because that’s your second spell

I have cultivator colossus in Aesi and I can confirm, it's great there. It's even better when you can copy it a bunch of times with rite of replication or something else. Nobody can stop a group of 20/20 tramplers without a wipe but the Aesi deck ensures I always have an overflowing grip full of counterspells :)

I would not part with any of the Lands - they’ll probably be re-released down the road. Lands are too important to decks.
To be fair every other set has good dual lands, so unless you always want the best of the best, there are enough to go around.
