India's FOOD Temple! THE HOLIEST FOOD IN THE WORLD 🚩

  • India has a food temple where the Brahmin priests prepare food from age-old recipes in earthen pots over wood fires. They then bless the food and sell it at a market attached to the temple (Ananta Vasudev Mandir).
I'll take you behind the scenes of Ananta Basudev Mandir temples in Bhubaneshwar, Odisha as the priests cook the food (prasad). Then we'll go to the temple's food market and buy the blessed food from the priests and try it out! There are 11 dishes for me to try.
Here's what I ate at India's Food Temple:
    Mitha Dali (Sweet Lentils)
Potolo Channa Masala (Pointed Gourd & Chickpeas)
    Dalma (Lentil & Vegetables)
    Khatta (Tamarind & Dates Chutney)
    Saaga (Spinich)
Sarson Ka Saaf Makke Di Roti
    Besara (Vegetables & Mustard)
    Mohura
    Pachidi (Coconut & Fruit Raita)
    Kheer (Sweet Rice with Milk)

I absolutely love how India has age old traditions like this. You could have eaten the same variety of prasad from this temple going back hundreds of years. That deep sense of almost timeless continuity is definitely one of the most beautiful things about incredible India. Long may these things continue and not be tainted by globalism.

    • @dhven9337

This India is fast disappearing. Temples, Villages all are becoming too commercial. Plastic & Styrofoam have replaced the age old tradition of biodegradable leaf plates & mud containers in most villages & temples.

@@dhven9337 I agree. The march of bland commercial globalism is killing local cultures and traditions everywhere. It has actually affected western countries too, with the loss of local family firms and businesses and every high street looking the same. I really hope India can learn from the folly of the west and stand up to this menace!

It is so important to preserve this. People don’t realize that things like chilies peppers tomatoes onions garlic and even potatoes are not from there. Keeping the purity and the tradition matters a lot. Yes of course it’s fun to eat fusion foods but this is so important for the preservation of wisdom. India is probably the only culture that has been able to preserve 10 to 20,000 year old cuisine.

@@ichbinich1775 Lord Krishna, according to the sacred Hindu scriptures was the 8th incarnation(avtaar) of Lord Vishnu. As the story's told, once he protected a village from severe rain and flood, by picking up the 'Govardhan parvat' or the Govardhan mountain on his pinky finger. The storm and rain went on for 7 days, after which it all stopped by the blessing of the Lord Indra. So these 7 days the teen lord Krishna didn't eat anything, and it was said that he used to eat 8 meals a day(because according to Hindu jyotishi, there are 8 prahar, i.e., quarters, in a day, and each prahar has 3 hrs..hence 8*3=24hrs of a day) hence to serve him,at the end of the week, all the villagers made him food of those 7 days and hence served him 56 food items.(7*8=56). this is called as 'chappan bhog', where chappan is the hindi counting word for 56 and bhog means offering. hence during the season of Janmashtami(celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna) every year, Hindus offer their deity the 'chappan bhog'. however, it has also become a sort of tradition, and many temples offer chappan bhog to other deities too, and it is now not only restricted to janmashtami.

@@sankadines he said Sanatan Dharma, not the one you understand. Doesnt matter the adultation was done by the Brahmins or somebody else in the past but it has nothing to do with Sanatan Dharma and has to go away for good. Modern people have to weed out the regressive extensions made and bring back the original Sanatan by fixing the elements that people think to be from Hindu religion but were actually socio-political. And to begin with that understanding of the original scriptures is necessary. Most people choose the easy way out and start tainting a rather wonderful way of life. It is said that little learning is a dangerous thing. If we do not understand it and keep going as is or jump the ship, how can we expect non-Hindus to take a chance to read and analyze it without bias given that they themselves have a lot to fix as well?

    1. Bhramin people who cook the food are very religious conscious and they maintain their body very neat and most of the time they do not even speak while cooking. They don't even touch unwanted things or people (This is typical Indian practice being followed even before COVID-19 era)
    2. As said in the video, to the cooking area outsiders are not allowed (outsider they mean ANYone (not just foreigners) who does not belong to the team of people who cooks for GOD)
