- It's Battle of (for?) Cambridge today. On one hand, we've got a quite fine team from (again!) Peterhouse along with their quite cute captain, sans the two most entertaining characters (well, the remake is quite as good as the original, isn't it). On the other hand, we've got a team from Queens' that promises a lot, but sometimes needs to muster enough courage just to open their mouth (and give some shit, so to speak). Seriously, if both of them could get their act together (cue to Mr. Lin), I'd be happy both of them back (yes, BOTH of them). Original air date 1.8.2016
Note: With heavy heart, I might have to stop uploading starting next month. Nothing is settled yet, so just an announcement for now.

Queens' were done out of that by the ridiculous amounts of time that Peterhouse took conferring. One thing about UC I've always wanted to see is more consistency with the time allowed during the bonus questions.

You can watch University Challenge outside of the UK on the BBC website if you use the Holà plug-in.
It's hit and miss. After a while the Beeb catches on. Sometimes the retry works, but often not. This is why I am so grateful to psimanjuntak (yaorito1??) for uploading University Challenge.
Why do numerous Oxford and Cambridge colleges get to enter? Durham and York colleges don't. Not because of the great unbearable injustice of it all, just why?
At Oxford and Cambridge the colleges are responsible for undergraduate teaching, while at Durham and York that is the responsibility of the central university. However, the line gets a bit blurry as graduate colleges also get to participate from Oxford and Cambridge, even though they are not in charge of the teaching of their students.
