- Today's teams are the nominally Scottish team from Edinburgh University and the Durham University. Quite good teams, although Durham could do with more discipline and Smith from Edinburgh could do with less condescending look while answering. Maybe, just maybe, we'll get some non-Oxbridge teams that would go far this series. On another note, I'm quite worried that Queens' might not get their second chance. Original air date 12.9.2016

Two good teams! Durham is reliant on the captain a bit much, but I'm looking forward to seeing these two teams again.

Ha ha, Standard English in Singapore is not the same as Standard English in Britain (15:19). Met a Singaporean woman who told me she'd always thought she spoke Standard English, till she went to England and no one understood what she was saying.
A pleasure to see Mr Paxman really enjoy what was a top-notch contest.
To be fair, Smith can be excused a bit of condescencion after having written a classic like 500 Miles. Why he wasn't team captain, instead of that refugee from Jesus and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, is anyone's guess.

the question about the 5th prime number + the 5th decimal of pi, shouldnt it be 16 like boyle answered? the answer is that it's 11+9, but isnt it 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7? i guess 1 isnt counted, but shouldnt it be?
1 is generally not counted. So the 5th prime is 11.
