Dragon respect for someone who understands that Reflect is lowkey overpowered late game at least in terms of how effective it is for like 75-90% of the end-game boss fights, especially over the awesome yet overrated Drive Forms. But you lose points for not knowing that Summons are actually good.

Jeremy Stinson You had me going for a minute. I know how good Stitch and Chicken Little are, btw. Genie is actually my least used summon overall. Used them way more after I actually tried them out.

    • @jeremystinson2124
      @jeremystinson2124 Před 6 lety +14

Impressive, Peter Pan is good too, Tinker Bell Heals you over time, Peter does added hitstun on his attacks, and Tinker Bell revives you if you die once during the Summon. Genie was nerfed for the Final Mix and considering he is a FUCKING PHENOMINAL COSMIC POWER GENIE even in the original KH1 & KH2 Genie should've been WAY more powerful but of course then Sora wouldn't even have to fight anymore.

Fun Fact: The reason why the reaction command Reversal doesn't work in the final Xemnas fight is because the game runs at a faster framerate than its PS2 counterpart. This means that Sora is being checked for damage more often than the Reaction command gives you invincibility frames for.

Yep. Here's another tip that not many people know about.
You know how there's 2 Larxenes on the field at a time? Well, whenever they stand in place for a bit, their orientation with respect to you and each other actually tells you what attack they're going to use. Just don't be greedy and attack one of them during this, since she'll perform the attack anyway, just with the difference being you couldn't see it coming.

    13. Marluxia- Not much harder than his AS fight.
    12. Saix- Same reasons you mention, he's just easy.
    11. Lexaeus- Can be slightly annoying, but still pretty easy.
    10. XIgbar- Pretty similar to his story fight, not much other strategies needed.
    9. Axel- Agree with everything you said.
    8. Larxene- I have NO idea how you put at number 1. She's relentless, sure, but...she's really not that bad.
    7. Xaldin- Master the "Jump" mechanic, and you pretty much win. It's a long fight, but not that bad overall.
    6. Roxas- Agree with everything you said.
    5. Zexion- Screw that "red light" attack. He's annoying but not overly terrible.
    4. Xemnas- Two forms makes it more of a grind, but even his second form isn't THAT bad.
    3. Luxord- One of the hardest for me just because I can never get the mini game right.
    2. Demyx- Killing those Forms fast enough is the bane of my existence.
    1. Vexen- FUCK. THIS. FIGHT.

Nick P Denyx is easy, but before was really hard because I couldn't find a strategy until now. Best method, make sure you have firaga as short Commands, use ether only, and last, use wisdom form. Berserk Denyx with wisdom form with firaga. it will boil the water forms and Denyx too. For Vexen, same with Denyx but a little different. Use Final form. Make sure you have firaga as short Commands, and reflega. Final form must have Bond of Flame Keyblade for fire boost plus the fire boost from your support action. Use high potion only.

Because I feel like it, I'm going to give a bit of advice that wasn't given here and answer some unasked questions for each boss. Most people who beat critical mode probably already know most of this, but there are still those who want to learn more. That's right, I'm talking to you, random comment surfer looking for clarification or entertainment. Anyway, these will be given in the same order as the video to simplify things. Also, spoiler, I'm following the same rules as the video and not mentioning the many OP things you can use to obliterate the Data Org with ease.
Luxord - Not much to talk about here. Most of the video is on point, since all you need is the dodge skills needed to get this far and good timing. Just make sure to do every game and do it right, and you'll be fine. The only thing that tends to be a problem is Luxord's final reaction game. The trick for the last O and occasionally the next to last is to pause and unpause and select at the same time when the symbol is on X. It may take a few tries and will require some great timing, but time is quite literally the name of the game. Like with all the fights, just stay calm, look for patterns, and you'll win in no time.
Saix - The video covers most of this. If you're really bad at timing things or are (for some reason) scared to get close, you can also use a combination of thunder and glide to chip at his health. That is, of course, if you don't mind fighting him for about an hour or two. The main thing to do here is try and grab one of his weapons and berserk him to death. He melts really easy once you get the hang of fighting him. Just make sure glide is maxed out, or this will be a much harder fight.
Marluxia - Honestly, he isn't that dangerous unless you are very low level. If you are though, then why are you reading this? You'd be more than good enough to beat him if you can get to him like that. The biggest thing to remember is to get out of his range when he starts sucking you up, that way you can use a reaction command on him to either restore your count or deal decent damage to him. The only other thing you need to know is to glide in a large-ish circle when he "hovers above your shoulders, undressing you with his eyes." Once he starts to become Mr. SlashyMcKill after the aforementioned mental molestation, glide away from him ASAP, get on the ground, and prepare to dodge roll that big burst that basically all of the big desperation attacks have. Everything else in the video is spot on and is basically a step-by-step guide to pwning Marluxia.
Demyx - Everything in the video. The only advice I can really give, given the constraints, is to try and get him in a corner for the final 99 clones. If you do that and have elixirs on the whole trio, you should be able to *fire* Demyx from his music career after slaughtering his groupies. And now I feel dead inside.
Xigbar - Just like Luxord, timing is the real trick here. Unlike Luxord, there is not a bunch of reaction commands that win the day easily. Just block what you can, deflect the others with aerial dodge, dodge roll the rest if you have to, and try to drag out Xigbar's sniper game if you're recharging your magic when he goes into it. He'll shoot you a ton and stays in sniper mode for about a minute or two if uninterrupted, so if the battlefield is suitable when he does it, then you can actually get back to full condition here. Otherwise, just watch out for his giant shots, since they are ever so slightly harder to warp snipe than regular Xigbar's, and he likes to fire them while you're in the air.
Lexaeus - Probably the most irritating one of them all, even if not the most difficult. This is mostly a fight of figuring out the patterns. If you can manage to consistently use Mega Counter, block the blockable attacks and dodge the unblockable, then you just might be able to win. In theory, he's pretty easy. In practice? We don't talk about that.
Axel - I got nothing to say. The video explains it all, for the most part. Just remember the advice on elements from Demyx.
Roxas - I got one word for you: Block. Nearly every attack Roxas does is blockable until he starts spamming the Faith Pillars. Once that happens, you'll be fighting two enemies; Roxas and his posse of light. In the end though, it is almost exactly the same as regular Roxas, just more damage to deal and be dealt. Also, because it peeves me, the reaction where you can steal Roxas' keyblades can be done in the regular fight too. It's just so easy to kill his regular form that you likely won't notice unless you're giving Roxas way too many openings.
Zexion - Haha! This guy is more of a battle of percentages than Vexen, and Vexen is a scientist of disturbing skill. The first thing is the percentage of him sucking you up the moment the fight starts is about 40%. If you aren't immediately sucked up, every time you hit his revenge value yields a 90% chance of getting sucked up. Oh, but if you can manage to never get sucked up by his revenge value, then he's the easiest fight in the game, since you can combo him endlessly until he dies, and he can't fight you outside of his book. Once inside, there's so many different things that can happen it's not even funny. He's even been known to immediately go to the meteor phase if one is unlucky enough. On that note, I've found that Zexion's meteor storm has a very easily exploited loophole. Basically, just stand in one circle the entire time, pick a favorite hand, quick run to the other circle on that hand side when the selection speeds down, then react how you may. Due to how the game works, this puts your chances of success at around 45%, as opposed to 33% by picking a random circle at the last moment or 5% by staying in one circle from the start. It won't always work, but it can make the data fight end a lot quicker (for better or worse) if done correctly. The real difficulty is actually getting the timing down. Can't tell you how many times I've sped in the right direction and missed it by a few frames at best. Overall, just don't get stunlocked by his regular attacks or, even better, don't get sucked into the book, and you'll be fine.
Vexen - Just check out the video. Interesting thing though. Apparently he can occasionally glitch and start out with max data gathered, resulting in a permanent Anti-Sora and borderline unwinnable battle. If that happens, just restart the fight. You'd have an easier time fighting Lvl.1 Critical Mode Lingering Will using no Magic, Items, Limits, or Drives, while blindfolded, with only one hand available and using a controller that D/Cs at the slightest movement, all while being drunk enough that you can pass out at any moment. Vexen's shield will regenerate twice as fast, he doesn't get staggered by fire anymore, Reflect of all things doesn't do damage anymore, and Anti-Sora will constantly be attacking you. If you even manage to damage Vexen to his desperation move under these kinds of circumstances consider it a victory and move on.
Xemnas - First form is easy as things get. Keep Blizzard on standby, assault him when he opens up, and keep out of range from his attacks. This is, of course, if you ignored the video above or just want to do things as consistently as possible. Use the reaction command to end him and proceed to Lunatic Mode. Phase two is explained perfectly in the video. "We shall go together" will be the worst thing you ever hear once the fight is over though. My advice is to prepare for the worst and don't even bother getting optimistic. Just hope and pray that you can one-cycle him, or you may end up dying 70% of the way through the fight.
Xaldin - Stabbity Slashyman does NOT like you or your life. Block what you can, dodge what you can't, and prepare to get destroyed at a moments notice. Nothing I can really say here except to learn the pattern that most benefits your play style and try to get it to be replicated as much as possible until the man is dead. Anything else, just look at the video. Do that.
Larxene - Max out on Shock Charms and hope for the best. If you can, try to get both clones in a shared combo, since that will deal double damage. Otherwise, just figure out what to do. A bit of advice: if what you're trying doesn't work, then don't try it again and you might eventually succeed.
Legitimately though, the video covers most of this way better than I ever could. Of course, there's always another option to all of these fights, if you don't mind getting shamed by the KH community. Remember that the lack of limits, drives, summons, and especially Reflect is an active handicap used for the purpose of making the game harder and thus more rewarding when you still stomp all the bosses. If you're up for the challenge though, then go, soar on your wings, and be prepared to get shot down mid-flight ever other second by the Data Organization. Just rise like a phoenix after every death until you either fly out of range or turn into a pigeon. Because at the end of the day, if you stay calm and keep trying, you'll eventually succeed.
... I wonder how this "comment" will be received? Eh, hindsight.

For Zexions Meteor Shower game, after the book “shutters” between the highlighted areas 13 times, the circle it lands on is the safe zone. You can pause buffer to make sure you can quick run there safely.
For Xaldins “sup bro do you like death” segment, you can jump and aerial dodge him. While doing so, you can perform magnega to change his pattern to him striking the ground while collecting a few more jump commands in the process.

"We shall go together" can be successfully reversal-ed every time if you just tilt the camera as far downward as possible, stay completely still, and mash triangle the whole time until he says "Enough!". Even on final mix, this has never failed me, not once, in the many tries it took me to beat him.
Hardest bit of that fight is making you save sora as riku. Its complete RNG if Xemnas' clone decides to spam the double-ball bullshit magic attack and fuck up your whole run.

    My list:
13: Xigbar - Consistently the easiest for me, I've never died once to this guy in the 5 times I've fought him.
12: Marluxia - Pretty much all the reasons stated in this video, I feel his absent silhouette variant is actually harder because if you're a lower level then you take less hits to be one shot. But in the data version you should be max level and that makes it all the more easier.
11: Saix - I only died once to this guy on my first playthrough, after that I never died to him on every consecutive playthrough. This guy just stands around most of the time not even hitting you he just stares at the moon until his bar fills up.
10: Lexaeus - I embarrassingly died 5 times to this guy on my first playthrough because I couldn't figure out how to stop him from reaching 60k power at the start of the fight. I also sucked big time at dodging his ground slam combos but as soon as I got good, this guy became a cakewalk.
9: Zexion - I gotta say, this is easily the most mind f**king fight out of the whole lot. That's not to say it's hard though, it's actually relatively easy. The only part of the fight that is kind of intimidating is the meteor phase, sometimes I can get lucky and be protected by it but most of the time I don't and those meteors obliterate my healthbar. Thankfully, with second chance and once more you can outlast the onslaught and heal once it's done.
8: Vexen - This is probably going to be the most polarizing placement out of the bunch, it seems that everywhere I look there are always people complaining about how Vexen is SOO hard and I just don't get it. I don't know where everyone struggles so much but I found that being really aggressive works well in this fight. I've only died twice to this guy in all my runs but overall, I think he's pretty manageable for the most part.
7: Axel - This fight could've been harder if it wasn't for the fact that it's literally the exact same fight as the beginning of the game only made slightly harder by the fact that you don't have Roxas' insane damage output. That being said, I still die due to my own greed every now and then.
6: Roxas - The story mode version of this fight absolutely tore me to shreds on my first playthrough, I seriously think I must of died 20 times to this guy. And even after fighting him so many times, he still gives me trouble. This is one of those fights where I need to be constantly on my toes because if not, then I spend the majority of the fight out of MP which means I can't reflect when I need to.
5: Demyx - This fight feels completely mixed. This fight can either be one of the easiest, or one of the hardest depending on a certain factor: Drive Forms. If you use your Wisdom Form for his clone phase and stock up on Elixirs, then this fight becomes a cakewalk. I've done it this way every time and I have never lost to this guy once. On the other hand, if you don't use drive forms then this can be a serious challenge. Let's just say there's a reason why so many people remember the phrase "Dance water, dance!"
4: Larxene - Oh man, I fucking despise this parasitic little cunt. If we're going by how many times I died to a single fight, then Larxene easily comes out on top. I seriously think I must of died 30 times to this hellspawn on my critical playthrough. But then I embraced Reflega spamming and this fight actually became really easy. Still though, I will never forget how much trouble this bitch gave me on my critical playthrough. I don't think I've ever yelled "fuck you!" so much at my screen in my entire life.
3: Luxord - Man, you have some serious balls putting what many people consider the hardest data battle at the bottom of your list. I'm not disagreeing with you though, it's your opinion at the end of the day. But good god, those mini games are brutal! I seriously can't imagine doing these without cheesing it by pausing the game over and over. Sure, with enough practice then you can get it but that would require you to practice this guy way more than any other fight ideally should and that's enough for him to be considered one of the hardest.
2: Xaldin - Remember what a colossal pain in the ass this guy was on everyone's first playthrough? Nah, not me. I actually found out that if you use Beasts' situation command then that fight becomes a cakewalk. But I digress, this takes an already insanely hard fight and cranks the difficulty up to 11. Only this time, you don't have the option to have Beast in your party; in addition, he adds new bullshit mechanics like the teleport which seems to go on indefinitely until you muster up the courage to take him on only to have your health bar obliterated in the blink of an eye. My successful kills with this guy have always been when I got lucky enough for him not to use that move.
1: Xemnas - I'm sure a lot of people will disagree with this, but none of the data battles on this list pushed me to my limit as much as this guy did. Not only is it the longest fight lasting anywhere between 10-20 minutes, but he has easily the largest damage output and the smallest window to attack him in out of any battle. On top of that, he has the most attacks which can end your game at any instant; I cannot even begin to tell you how many times he used that bullshit attack where he grabs you and forces you to control Riku while I was low on health. This is also one of the only fights which actually required me to use a Drive Form (Limit Form in this case) because I just could not find any windows to attack him in. And most of his attacks seem to glue to you and you need to react in an instant in order to avoid his crazy damage output. I'm sure there are still plenty of reasons to argue why fights like Demyx, Luxord or Xaldin might be considered harder. But I feel less confident fighting this guy and I overall struggle more with this guy than any other fight and that's enough for him to be considered my hardest fight.

For Zexion's Meteor Shower attack, you can dumb it down to make it easier on yourself. The blue light will switch its area 13 times, every time, no matter the circumstances. Once you reach move 12, you can pause and unpause constantly until you see the blue light have a white circle around it. Once you do, you can Quick Run into it and be safe from the meteor shower, as well as get a combo on Zexion, no damage taken.

Xemnas's orb attacks can be by-passed with a full length Quick Run. Also during his laser attacks, when he says "Surprise!" he sets up the lasers. Guard when he says "Fire!" though he'll occasionally not say it. He'll follow up immediately with him and his clone spamming lasershots at you in which case just spam guard as soon as they appear.

Thanks for the commentary and walkthrough on how to beat the KH bosses. For some reason out of all the commentary I've seen yours was the most helpful and easiest to understand.
Why is it helpful because you explain what to do without using drives, reflect, or summons which is very helpful. Personally, I am not shy at all to use drives, summons, reflect or whatever else I gotta do to win. Whats important to me is winning & I don't care what kinda cheese I gotta do to win lmao.
My int ital response after getting my ass handed to me was to go drive final form and mash the X button or mash Firaga spell in final form with the two become one key blade. Does wonders against Demyx. Saix was also very easy I just had to summon Peter Pan and I pretty much own him with the "Neverland Limit" if you screw up no worries because as long as your Peter Pan summon is out if you die Tinker Bell will bring you back to life! It's like a free Micky save and I find it useful in case im about to get totally rekt which happens a lot on critical mode despite alrdy being level 99.
Anyway, thanks for the detail on how to fight these bosses without using drives, limits, or reflect. To be perfectly honest you are amazing thx. I couldn't do it man. lol
You also get a free "Stop" spell if your health is critical and you summon stitch which gives you your hades & titan orb points in the underworld. You don't have to do anything but have critical health then summon stitch and stitch will do the rest on his own but watch out it doesn't work on every boss.

I did it. I finally did. I finally f*cking did it. After a year (I wasn't always playing this game), I can finally say that I obtained the Proof of Nonexistence without the usage of Limits, Summons, Drive Forms, or Reflega. With a combination of skill, spamming guard and attacks, lots and lots of healing, and luck, I won. Here's my ranking, for those that care.
    13. Marluxia. Glide over his pitch-black pools, be mobile when the flower cage surrounds you, and guard his attacks to get the Aerial Strike commands which resets the counter. During the (doing my best Europe impression) 🎵the final countdown🎵, just guard and roll. Defeated his data on my first attempt.
    12. Roxas. Roxas is my favorite member, story and gameplay-wise. This is the quintessential "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee" fight. Let him throw his attacks at you while you guard because he will leave himself open. When he changes the background glide or hover run to avoid the lasers/pillars of light. Also, the "The End" reaction command is so cool! It's as anime as it gets, but damn, it's so cool to execute.
    11. Vexen. He whooped my butt a few times, or was it the Sora created from data? I took the "more opportunities" approach, using fire and shortened combos, so I can attack often. Break his shield and spam Fire if you can spare the magic.
    10. Axel. I cheesed this fight, sue me.
9.Xigbar. Equip Guard and Once More. Deflect his projectiles and assault him when he's reloading. When he changes the background, deflect his projectiles again. Assault him then at your own risk.
    8. Saïx. Just keep guarding and rolling. Glide is also a good evasive maneuver. Get a Lunatic when you can, rush towards the real lunatic, and smack him as if you were a lunatic.
    7. Zexion. Keep targeting Zexion even if Donald and Goofy are trapped in books. When Sora is trapped in the book, glide and then focus on the reaction command. When the book flashes and the books appear, you're going to have to be quick.
    6. Xemnas. First phase: spam square and use the reaction command when the third prompt appears. Second phase: just keep whacking and healing. Third phase; spam guard, spam Dark Firaga, spam heal, spam the Reflect reaction command.
    5. Lexaeus. If I haven't made it clear, guarding is your best friend, and more so in this fight. Make sure that you have a fast rate of MP Haste. Guard his scraping attack to activate the reaction command. Otherwise, you have to let him come to you, guard, heal, and attack.
    4. Xalding. If Lexaeus made guard your best friend, then this fight will make triangle your best friend and square your partner. That's the gist of this fight: guard, triangle, Jump spam. It will be painful, and you'll fail plenty of times, but you have to keep going. Eventually, you'll succeed.
    3. Luxord. The fight itself isn't hard. Why is this so high up here? One reason: my timing sucks. I avoid playing his games until the last one. Like the Axel fight, I cheesed this one. This time, I spammed pause and waited for an X to appear. That's it.
    2. Demyx. For a guy that's known for screwing up, he sure kicked my butt. I eventually got so impatient that I activated wisdom form and used magic. When I returned, the third "Dance!" (the one with 75 forms) kicked my butt so much that I just groaned and said, "Oh... Blew it again..." I can't tell if it's me sometimes, but other times, it's my controller (my control's left joystick sometimes doesn't work sometimes). My strategy for winning this fight without the drive forms? Keep Demyx near a wall so when he unleashes his forms, you can use the "magnet propeller" and throw it at the wall, you can easily stand in front of it and spam Firaga. It's a little luck-heavy, though, so retries are very likely.
    1. Larxene. In the words of a man whose girlfriend left him for his best friend Steve, "F*ck this fight!" I used Final Form on my first succesful attempt, but I had to work out a strategy for my "legititamte" run. The key that eventually won me the battle was using short combos. My strategy: Dodge away immediately, roll and glide around during her lightning strikes, and wait for her to duplicate herself. Attack her quickly, but you'll get ganged up on. Heal and use items. This isn't 100% guaranteed to work, as when I was waiting for my MP to recharge, I had to use items, which when combined with me only have 1 HP, left me with several losses on my record. Attack one of them when the other isn't moving and you'll get the Merge command. This is the whole fight. The more you do this fight, the more you get used to it.

The key to beating Zexion is minimizing the amount of time spent in his floating realm of books. Get a lock on him right when it starts so you don't lose him, retrieve your abilities, make sure you don't have any air combo pluses so you quickly do a finisher and get back to wailing him on the island. And I figured out that to dodge the rock shower with the 3 blinking red and blue spots, you just wait in the center and the correct one will blink for a split second before he casts. You can use dodge roll or quick run to quickly get there and rinse and repeat.
Beat him at around level 35 on proud mode.

Hey Sunburned Albino! For the Marluxia battle, I've figured out how to guard his rosebud spurting ultimate moves. I usually spin in a circle while gliding to avoid the rosebud spurting moves, then when he uses his scythe to circular hit me, I continue to glide spin farther away from him. And at the exact right moment before his final hit from above, land on the ground and guard. You won't get hit at all. By the way, love your boss ranking videos!

This video actually taught me some tricks that I can use against these guys. I never knew Blizzaga attracted water clones. and I generally was forced to Wisdom Form Firaga them to death. Thanks! However, I do have some notes that I think would change some of these rankings for you.
For Zexion, he can actually be countered incredibly easily by a single Reflect. If you hesitate a bit after Zexion teleports you into the book world, you can prevent Zexion from taking your commands away AND you can lock onto him, which means he isn't hiding from you. Also, for his DM (meteors), you can stand in the middle and, when the spotlight stops moving, slide over to the right spot. You have to act fast, though.
For Larxene, she actually telegraphs her moves more than any of the other data battles. Keep track of where the clones are. Depending on where they are positioned they will perform a given attack, and they never break from this pattern. Just don't wildly swing at her, because you can knock one or both out of position and remove your ability to predict their move. You can't cancel the attacks, but you can stop attacking her and watch her to see what attack she'll do next. Attack when you can without compromising your ability to predict. Also, you can reflect the bolts from the DM. Additionally, I noticed how you tried to arial recover when she was juggling her and, honestly, just accept the attacks. From my experience, she attacks at such a fast rate that Once More will keep you alive until you touch the ground. It might be boring and slow, but it keeps you alive.
For Xaldin, you were pretty good for the most part, but there's a way to cancel the wind shield. Don't ask me why or how, but Magnega cancels the wind shield. I don't get it either. This is the only boss Magnega is even remotely useful against.
For Xemnas, you can reflect his shots if you're struggling, but, if you really don't want to, you can block some shots using Air Dodge. When the Reversal comes up, just mash that triangle button as much as possible. Generally the goal with the reversals is to not take damage at any costs, so make sure to mash Reversal as much as possible.

The people who commented on the last video that you were "just a filthy casual" I HAAAATE THOSE KH FANS ... they obviously weren't listening when you said no drive forms, limits, etc. I'd LOVE to see the speedrunners try the data fights without reflect, drives and limits, cause i honestly thought that would be impossible but you've done it! xD TEACH MEEEEE. Doing demyx's 99 clones in 30 seconds without wisdom form seems like a bad time. And dodging vexens DM without donald's comet also seems like a bad time. So mad respect for that

    • @darkness9538
      @darkness9538 Před 6 lety +3

Colin Smith bizkit047 has actually done most of the data fights at level 1 taking no damage with restrictions

    • @m0nad0_b0y
      @m0nad0_b0y Před 6 lety +4

The reason speedrunners use the drives, limits, summons, and reflects that are shunned here is because they are typically level 1, or in the case of story fights, at a lower level than they "should" be because they don't fight the meaningless fights that you encounter while exploring each world.
I can respect that it does take a fair amount of skill to beat the bosses without these tools, like in this video and the last one. BUT, at the end of the day, this guy is still level 99 (which gives him access to Leaf Bracer for invincible heals, as well as Once More and Second Chance for literal immortality), using the Ultima weapon, and has stats increased by a multitude of synthesized stat boosters (he did explicitly mention in the last video synthesizing a bunch of defense boosts in preparation for one of the fights). With tools like these, the fights become much less about skill because of the time spent in preparation (which is the nature of most RPGs, after all)
This guy is definitely not a causal, considering he cares enough about this game to spend all this time making the lists, grinding the levels, synthing the items, etc. He's also definitely not unskilled, given the restrictions he put on himself. But, this strategy to beat the bosses is much closer to the casual end of the spectrum than the speedrunner strats. This strategy requires time and devotion, but not game knowledge or mechanic mastery.

It really is not impossible! I started playing KH2 this summer and i can already beat all the data members on critical without using any of it except Demyx's final dance water dance!Maybe i can do it without Wisdom form but i never tried because it's a pain in the ass to redo that fight when i'm so close to beating him!But there are times where i use forms to refill my hp and mp but i quickly revert afterwards! It is far better than farming munny for potions or synthesis for elixirs imo! Also ever since i played Dark Souls 3 and Bloodborne, i have a tendency to not block attacks and keep finding ways to avoid them! And i beat all the bosses in the game without guarding in Proud Mode! But i never tried it on Critical since i started getting used to blocking recently thanks to God of War 4!
And i completely agree with Words and Herbs, it doesn't matter how you choose to play it, Kingdom Hearts is not Dark Souls, it doesn't take away anything if you use what the game offers you! It's fun and challenging nonetheless! Unless you go to Final Form and spam Firaga of course!

Fun tip for the Xigbar fight: he only changes the arena layout after you finish a combo. So if you use berserk and MP rage You can catch him in the air and just cheese the fuck out of that three hit aerial slash until your MP recharges. Since he stays airborne he's locked into you. Only thing to be careful of is you slowly push him back, so if he's already changed the arena to one with a barrier you can't cross but he can, The cheese Will spoil and you'll have to try again.
