As a Black America I really appreciate your commentary on the slave mart in NYC. I've never heard of anyone speaking of this before. You force us to subscribe with your brilliance! I'm tuned in!!!
Brother I'm from NYC and use to work on Wallstreet , there was a Slave Burial Ground I use pass everyday on my way to work.
I use to Work for Goldman Sachs,
Spiritually I couldn't handle it and walked away from a six figure salary
I stop telling stories from the inside because it fell on deaf ears, and my friends would dismiss them, they were so far removed from the places people and thing I was prevy too
That it sounds like a SiFi or Folk Tale
Story to them.
Working there I saw first hand that
Satan is very real...
@@Peakfreud Wow! I would like to hear your stories.
@@christinajones7696 It would sound like science fiction ...
But I'll tell you one thing to see how you'll digested it..
The Probabilty of World Trade Center
Bombings were discussed yrs and yrs before it actually happened.
At the time, in 90's it was like "Yeah Right never happen" in 2021 30yrs later it's a conspiracy theory 🤷♂️
I'm uncomfortable talking about some of the stuff, it's just one of those things you'd have to be there .
I was there, before, during and after.
You could literally go on CZcams and see other black people talking about it
@@Peakfreud so it was discussed? What now?
I interviewed for a job in lower manhattan. The energy down there felt very heavy and dark. It Makes sense now with the history and everything that happened.
Interesting stories of lower Manhattan, and thanks for keeping it real regarding NYC's role during slavery. Great tour as usual, Tom.
🧐🤔
Loving these "Dark Side of" series. More more!
Dark side of Lower Manhattan
with no mention of 9/11.
My grandpa told me about the Subway Vigilante earlier this year. A few years ago there was an art installation in the old Domino Sugar factory in Williamsburg highlighting the slaves who worked on the sugar. There were statues made of sugar including slave children and a huge mammy-spinx. It smelled terrible in there, but it was a great exhibition. The artist is Kara Walker.
He wasn't a vigilante, his life was threatened and he defended himself.
@@penskepc2374 I’m just going by the name that they referred to him as. I guess they named him that because he was prepared, idk 🤷🏾♀️.
@@MONET8iAM I haven't been over there in a while. I thought they were taking that down the sugar factory. I guess not yet? Surprised they haven't put up luxury condos yet
@@user-nj1zu2nf1x actually yes. They’ve built around it. There are luxury buildings and a cute little park on the waterfront called Domino Park. Not sure what they’ve done (if anything) with that particular building. I also haven’t been out there in almost a year, so I’m not sure if the photos on google are just renderings or not.
@@MONET8iAM interesting, thanks. Will have to take a ride over there on a day it's not freezing
Needed this today. Love ya Tomski!

I love your video tours ... but also love the history you add to these ... awesome stuff, guy!🟪
Awesome Tom. I’d like to hear your take on the tunnels of NYC and what’s beneath Grand Central!
Love these videos, they are so entertaining!!! Always very informative about NY events that have taken place. So interesting, please keep them coming. Any Teddy or Franklin Roosevelt type tours in the future?
Wave Hill maybe
Trivia: at the 2:04 mark… the 3 windows above the pock marks was JP Morgan’s private conference room, overlooking the corner of Wall and Broad Streets. You had to pass through his private office to enter it. I managed the company’s move from 23 to 60 Wall Street in 1989
He died in 1913 so I imagine that was his former office
Entertaining and interesting facts. Better the other nyc tour guide video I’ve seen, truly.
Fantastic video Tom as usual funny informative
Good stuff. Very informative and I like the delivery. Your character cracks me up. Haha

I was waiting for the lush vocals and Tom delivered! I truly love wagon wheel
Hi Tom. Another great video. I'm glad you mentioned Henry Clay Frick, since I'm from Pittsburgh, where he also had a mansion and was laid to rest. Keep making more interesting videos.
Frick was a Prick !

Quality work. I am sure you’ll have a hit show. Thank you
I live in the lower East side Manhattan and I work all thru there wall st, Fulton st, pearl st, and it def has a “feel” to it like some messed up things def went on around there..
Just found your video today and subscribed. Great video.
Awesome video Tom. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Great job bro love your videos 👍🏾
I enjoy the hell outta these! History is fascinating, despite some of it being grim and bummer-y.
Side notes:
1- Models and bottles sounds like a godawful nightmare.
2- I don't think I need to tell you who "wrote" Wagon Wheel.
3- Your gopnik pose is on point, comrad! 😉
FYI - models (which he refers to as fashion models) are actually financial models…which may be more / less douchey depending on how you interpret lol
Great informative tour! Keep it up 👍
Thanx Tom. Love ❤️ your videos. Can't wait to get back to NY. ❤️ from Sydney Australia.
You rock Tom ! In the space of such a short time you give us very facinating history . With the fun factor too . Thank you
Another masterpiece.Id love to see a Rockaway Beach Tour.Merry Christmas!
Great tour of the dark side. I remember the days of random muggings well. Seems like we may be headed back there again
Love hearing your take on our little home town
Your Bernie geotag story is wrong the 3 men surrounded him and asked for money, that’s when Getz felt threatened and discharged his gun. He was found not guilty and those that were shot and still able to walk have been arrested numerous times since.
Absolutely love these tours 😂 humor and commentary always 11/10
As always… thanks for the education ✊🏽
Thanks for the great history lesson , you the man . Mr Delgado ❤️
Great tour my friend, thank you for your story

I work up the block lol this is dope man. Thanks for these vids!
Thank you from my heart for this very interesting video.❤
Thank you for this. My mother’s side of the family is from New York, Philly, and Massachusetts since the the colonial period. People assume I am descended from only free African-Americans but I know different. Family lore has it that one of my East Coast ancestors was an escaped slave from Trinidad. My 23 and Me results confirmed my Trinidadian roots. My maternal grandfather, born in 1900, was a New Yorker by way of Barbados. My father’s side is from Ohio by way of Kentucky. Perhaps from a large plantation because there’s a town there named after a white “settler” and “farmer” with our last name, a name which a lot of Black people from Kentucky share. I am a true child of the African diaspora. ❤️🖤💚
Just another American!!!!
@@bonezzzz6330: Facts. And with a diverse and storied family history that I did not go into. Except for the Natives we are ALL from somewhere else. You sound like a hater. 😂
@@hereforit2347 not a hater. My parents are from other places but I'm born here. So I say I'm American. Thats the beauty of the country. You can be a mutt, in terms of nationalities, but we are all American at the end of the day
And that's all I meant for you. Just another American!
@@bonezzzz6330: Okay. Thanks. I guess I was put off by all the exclamation points. I’m definitely an American.
Black people were already in the america’s. Slave narratives are told in reverse. Read some of the conquistadors diary’s and written accounts on what they saw when they reached the America’s. Most of those slaves sold at the slave mart in the 1700’s were white.
1st timer here !
Born & raised in NY and working throughout lower Manhattan. These are the exact locations I’ve worked super close by (Tjmaxx on broad st), Citibank by chambers. Thank you for this history. Looking forward to more videos. Keep on with the movement !
As a native new yorker who frequents the fidi/lower manhattan, this is truly fascinating!! So wonderful to learn all of these "hidden" bits of NY history! Thank you for the work you have put in to provide the audience with interesting and quality content.
Great video Happy New Year 🎊🎈🎆
My father was on the subway vigilante jury.
This channel is absolutely amazing
How the hell did this become my favorite YT channel?? Great stuff Tom...and break a leg kiddo!
Nice tour, dark but informative and entertaining. Thanks.
That’s a good looking Basset Hound.
Interesting stories on historical events not aware of, especially of the Sugar Houses and the Subway Vigilante. Thank you for being so down-to-earth and for your authenticity!
I found you while looking for NYC travel tips and this is exactly what I was looking for. But your scaring my baby with all those dark sounds lol. Gonna spend a weekend there in March with my wife
Hey Tom- Great video and it is clear that you have talent for presenting things in an intelligent and fun way. Hopefully you pitch these videos to a travel show- they are better than most things on TV these days. Best of luck and I appreciate your content!
You crack me up brother. I go to NYC for work 1-2x a year. Definitely gonna find some of these spots
Another Great Video.
I was just there last month visiting from California for the first time. Very informative and funny at the same time 😂🤣😂🤣

Dude this was so interesting. You have great personality for the screen,. No problem giving you a thumbs up and a subscribe!
This guy gets a big like for the humor and detail. Cheers to the camera guy as well.
I've been enjoying your videos and wondered if this is information you already know or do you research these places. Would have been interesting to see you in court as a lawyer. You are very funny in addition to being informative. May have to become a patreon.
New subscriber here! I go to NYC once a year from Singapore and this is really educational content. 👍
Brilliant video thanks for sharing 👍
Good looking host. The book in the back pocket accentuates another part of the physical. The last time I was in Chinatown was a dark cold evening. I was lost.
Your the best. I miss my home town so much. You’ve taken me back home.
Thank you for making my night of work go faster ✨
Ahhhh sheeeee new tomdnyc!!!
I was born in the city of New York,(Roosevelt Hospital ) graduated from Jane Addams Vocational High School, and I am embarrassed and upset that I never heard about any of this in my history classes! Thank You Tom D!
I definitely enjoyed this. My kids are wanting to move to manhattan for school so nice to brush up on my dark history. Thanks!
I just came to this out of curiosity but all this information is so intriguing I think I’m going to subscribe
I was in lower Manhattan just last month and never knew about this side of it. Thanks for sharing. Very interesting but dark too.
Great work Tom 👍🏻
