    In this video, we asked football fans who they'd support if their football clubs no longer existed.

    If your team didn't exist, who would you support instead?

    @2:20 He's at least giving an honest answer. Kudos to him. Anyone else not saying the other PL team from the same city are not understanding/respecting the question.

      @@fcdoublea The Man U fans surprisingly seemed the most realistic in answering this question.
      Of course those answering as if their current teams went into liquidation are not answering the question as asked - That's a different question entirely to if your team never existed.
      If you support the team your dad supported then you have to look at which team he would now support not just which team you would choose.
      The QPR and Crystal Palace fans saying they'd support local non-league teams is pretty unbelievable - They both have more than enough choice in London that they'd have gone for a different league team were QPR or Crystal Palace to have never existed.

    As an avid football fan, I have always had a deep passion for the game and the community surrounding it. If Liverpool FC didn't exist, my heart would undoubtedly belong to Brighton & Hove Albion.
    The choice of Brighton would come from my appreciation for their attacking style of play and the innovative approach to football led by Roberto De Zerbi. Brighton's commitment to attractive and dynamic football resonates strongly with what I always valued in a team.
    In addition to their playing style, the rise of Brighton, their growing fan base, and the strong bond within the club community also appeals to me enormously. It is a club that seamlessly combines tradition and modernity.
    Therefore, if Liverpool FC did not exist, Brighton & Hove Albion would be the club that would receive my support and passion. Their determination on the pitch and the commitment of their supporters make them a club I would be proud to cheer for.
    And ofc Mac Allister 😁

    Growing up my local teams were either Crystal Palace or Millwall so if I wasn't an Arsenal fan I'd be fully behind Palace.
    Got a lot of love for Dulwich Hamlet too.

    Salford's connection to the Class of '92 means having a bit of a soft spot for them , too

    If Wolves never existed or indeed if they hadn't been so good in the late 50s my dad would have probably remained a Villa fan {even with Villa's relegation in 59}.
    That would have meant my dad taking me to Villa Park rather than The Molineux in the 80s and early 90s.
    But I can't see myself ever being a Villa fan....I feel I would have been much more likely to make the choice to support Nottingham Forest had my other choice been the Vile!
    Forest have always been my second team {the first away game I ever went to was at The City Ground - We lost unfortunately} and if Wolves for some reason went out of existence I would have no hesitation in making them my first team.

    • @fcdoublea
      @fcdoublea  Před 28 dny +1

      That's what I think. You're more likely to support the other team from your area rather than another team in the same league or someone successful. Unless you have family in those parts of the world or no parent/relative to guide you

    Man United Supporter but if I had to pick another team it would be probably Liverpool or Spurs because my parents support either one but internationally, I am and still am a big Inter Milan fan because of my love with Serie A, Italian football.
    United have done a lot of bad to me over the years but the thing that would tip it for me is if the standards of the club is just not up to what it was. Sounding like a glory hunter but I grew up with teams winning trophies and not seeing a team that doesn't want too or think about not competing for top honours, I loss passion because I'm not just watch a sports for the sports sake, I want to see the tribulations of what it means to win and support a person or team win. I'll even admit this season I've skipper on a few games because I just knew it wasn't going to be anything special win or lose and I'd rather play football with mates or do work

      @fcdoublea sadly Liverpool I'd say, just because one of my first football memories was also the 2005 final. Even though I wasn't supporting either teams in the final, seeing the comeback in a final like that and winning on penalties was crazy. I remember I was even trying to save penalties in school yards like dudek. But once my dad bought me that United nike/Vodafone shirt, that was my team.
      GGMU, got no hope for this board or this team but I'm hoping for some big changes this year. I'd rather even see us start a team of Kambwala, Harry Amas, Collyer, Mainoo, Garnacho, Hojlund and Amad all included

    As a Villa if we got liquidated or did something that would stop me from supporting the club like doing a Newcastle or City with owners or becoming Manchester Villa or something along those lines I would probably support Solihull Moors. A nice local team without any hatred to them so probably them but there's a possibility for Walsall. Villa and Walsall have a good relationship with eachother and is still quite close so it's an option. I do also like Union Berlin for their culture but them being based in Germany it just wouldn't work as my main team.
    If my club didn't exist well the league system wouldn't have kicked off the way it did but I digress it would have to be Small Heath some of my family supports them whilst the others that don't support Villa they support Bournemouth as they moved there but as I didn't really know them when I was first getting into football then it would be Small Heath whose just got relegated to League One btw how rough would it be to support them.

    • @fcdoublea
      @fcdoublea  Před měsícem

      It's crazy how your team not existing could open up several possibilities for you could support, rather than just the nearest team to you. Solihull Moors is a great one though. SO unlucky not to get promoted this season.

    • @franohmsford7548
      @franohmsford7548 Před 28 dny

      If Villa never existed then you have to look at who your family would have chosen to support not just who you would choose.
      Your dad or grandad may have been more likely to choose West Brom, Walsall, Coventry or Wolves than Blues depending on where in Birmingham you're from or even based on who was the biggest when they were young.
      -
      Funnily enough if Villa never existed then William McGregor may never have been in a position to push forward the creation of The Football League and The Football League may have featured more London based teams and others from outside the North West and Midlands.
      It's unlikely Blues would have got in as it's unlikely McGregor would have gone to Blues had Villa not existed.

    • @dennisgoatimer1079
      @dennisgoatimer1079 Před 28 dny

      @@franohmsford7548 Dude I mentioned that in my comment that the formation of the league would be different but we can't be sure what exactly would happen including were William McGregor would be and whether he would be in a position or not to do what he did in this timeline so you just have to A ignore it and B it wouldn't affect the club in question existing anyway they may be different but unless something major happens they would still exist.
      As for your other bit they wouldn't support the other clubs we grew up closer to Small Heath then the others just generations of villa fans on my fathers side is all. No one born in Birmingham would be close enough for the other clubs mentioned apart from West Brom hence there's a bit near the mainly Villa supported areas on the edge of the city but one you didn't mention is Solihull Moors. It's doesn't matter anyway which like I said is neither here or there as we didn't grow up in that part of Birmingham. I think I know my family more then you do pal.
      I didn't really mention about choosing in my Villa didn't exist bit just mentioned that some of my family support Blues and the some that don't support Villa support Bournemouth but one thing I didn't mention as it's irrelevant there's a rouge Citeh fan.
      I mentioned choosing in a scenario that Villa liquidated or did something horrible without obviously mentioning a phoenix club as a possibility as that's pretty standard response and in the latter part of it would there be enough to make it happen who knows.
