  • In this episode I address my brothers 2017 BMW M4 with 20,000 miles. The point of this series is show you what happens when you put more then 3 miles on a luxury car cause lets be honest people don't drive these cars so no one knows what to expect.
    Enjoy!

@@zaylo9254 Manual. I daily drive it put around 60miles a day mostly high way. Currently doing 62k miles. All regular maintenance were performed at BMW dealer. Including, all fluid and spark plugs. So far I have changed 3 sets of tires including tires came with it. I change tires every 20k miles. Car been garaged taking care of. Hand washed and using quality product to keep the interior in brand new condition. Car is very powerful. Fuel economy isn't bad, clutch extra easy to use. Pulls hard everyday with zero issues. Never regret buying it. Will plan to keep it for another 5yrs. I don't like automatic cars tho. I would definitely recommend it as daily. It depends where you live tho. I currently live is Saudi Arabia were the weather always hot. It's a good thing because weather is consistent. Unlike when I used to live in Boston were a lot of components wear quicker because of lack of lubrication due to cold weather. I would say most things to worry about in BMW is mechanical components. They always have issues in leaks, timing change, vanos and other.

I have the Mineral White M4 Convertible (2015) and I learned that when you get used to the DCT you realize that like a manual transmission, you have to let the clutch engage for a few milliseconds before you totally hammer the throttle. ...otherwise, it ain't pretty, as you discovered.
Also based on acceleration numbers and BMW's propensity to underreport HP, many believe the M4 puts out 500HP stock.
    Nice review.

  • @jakeesco4573
    @jakeesco4573 Před 5 lety +9

The jerkiness in the first gear, with the throttle response mode in sport +, is a result of driver-induced throttle ocilation. The sensitivity of the throttle can leave you applying more power than you had expected, lurching you back and bouncing your foot in and off of the throttle. At that point you’re just lurching back and forth

I’ve had my M4 since 2015. Yup this is it. The jerkiness has a lot do with your throttle. It also tends to do that a bit if the engine is still cold. But you can get used to that and be smooth with it after some practice with foot work.

Hi. Interesting review. Thanks. Just for information I own an M4 with the Competition pack on and its a totally different car from standard M4.... different suspension which transforms the slightly weird handling of the standard model. Bit more power but doesn't really matter or notice that. Exhaust sounds better especially in sports mode.
However I would definitely agree with you about the seats... mine has been back to the Dealers four or five times for repairs to the seats.... stitching pulling apart ( twice ) back plate came off and the last time they had it all the controls got messed up. NOT brilliant for the car that it is.
You can also very easily get an ecu flash for £500odd and release 500PLUS bhp..... Beware doing that though as it invalidates the warranty.
Harman Karmon hi fi is much better than the standard offering aswell.
LOOKS far better than C63 AMG aswell.
Comp pack SOUND inside is fine aswell and there is an easy way to get rid of it if you want.
But overall. REALLY REALLY good car you can use as a daily driver or go totally mad if you want to.

Hiya..... Standard M4 exhaust doesn’t sound that brilliant but if you chuck on a sports exhaust from Remus or Akrapovich it transforms the whole sound of the car. Also just a tip for you. Mate of mine has got a C63 AMG and it sounds great when you are cruising around.... but JEEZ on a long journey it’s really really unpleasant and intrusive and is just a bloody NOISE!!!....
Stick a sports exhaust on an M4 with switchable valves so you can have it noisy or quiet ( you will appreciate the latter on a long journey or to save annoying the neighbours every time you use the car )
M4 with Competition Pack DOES have much better ( switchblade) exhaust and if you look on You Tube there is even a way to disable the “piped” exhaust sound inside if you want.
But for me. M4 is the “thinking man’s” Grand Tourer.
AMG more for Cave Men! lol .... and me for one I much much much prefer the looks of the M4 both inside and out.
      But whatever.... Happy motoring.
DONT EVER go on wet grass though!.... I promise you the car will give up and get stuck.

    Feel a bit jerky?
That’s means your rev are too low, if you ever drive stick and knows double clutch and smooth connect it, when you are jerky, you should know your matching rev is way too low

I went to a BMW dealership just to test drive the competition Package and I also have driven my friend's competition Package for 2 solid days. I’ve driven both and really notice only minor difference maybe? And the salesman at the dealer said competition version only gives you a little bit more power and a few body kits IMAO. So I went with a standard M4 for a very good deal I couldn't pass. I am not a car expert by any means I just needed a dope looking coupe with some good power so please don't bash me on this one LOL
