The driver that went high then went low has to feel so bad, he caused the whole thing. Didn't have to happen.

Today, 10/16/21, it makes 10 years that Dan Wheldon was killed in the Las Vegas race
this was a disaster born of sheer arrogant stupidity, the drivers were all saying the speeds were too high and the track was too tight, something bad is going to happen, well right they were
Too many cars in what became a bathtub. That race should have allowed 10 or 12 cars less.
I'm sorry to hear what happened.

LoL
What an exciting track and Wheldon could have won 5,000,000. Felt so bad for the family back in the day when this happened because the gravity of the situation was that his kids were so young. The driver that went high then went low has to feel so bad, he caused the whole thing. Didn't have to happen.
Sorry.i can't hit the like button ...a very sad weekend...Race in peace Dan!
My god, they were going so fast that day that this video looks sped up, but it is not
This rate is way too tight, there’s no way for the cars to spread out and the racing in packs of 200 miles an hour it’s only a matter of time. Very sad
My Ears Is Hurt On The Engines Of Indycar I Can't Hold It Anymore
RIP dan 😥☹️🥺😫
I never realized how short that oval was until watching this video. The drivers warned them; this was far too unsafe. RIP Dan. Shame on you IndyCar.
Love the "Oh my God" at 4:39.
I remember thinking for the first buncha laps how awesomely amazing the racing was! Guess it was too good :(
The fact they ended the race immediately after finding out, that shows they knew this track was too dangerous for Indy cars. Many have died mid race and didn’t end the race.
Dan wins Indy in 2011 and then can't get a ride for the rest of the season. He went for a totally crazy stunt starting last with big money if he finished first, having to pass 33 cars on a mile and a half vs. a two and one half mile Indy track. It was a disaster waiting to happen.
Every big time race driver race's for the glory & the trophy, its a crying shame that DW didn't get his chance to sit on the porch & bask in the glory of his sure to be HOF driving career after he had hung up his helmet. Even more painful was seeing it live & thinking Damnit!! Dan lost his life racing Infront of this small crowd of Fan's & there's just not a lot of Glory in that. RIP DW, gone far too soon ✝️ 🙏 😞
😢😢
Rip Dan
This proves the Indycar could care less about driver safety ....... they were told by the drivers about this track ....... but they didn't give a shit ........ a lot of these tracks are not designed for these cars or the speeds they do ......... hats off to the POS managing body at the time , they are to blame for Dan Wheldon's death ........ it is more about the money for the show to Indycar ......fu#king sickening ..... these cars shouldn't have been on this track in the fu#king first place .............
I was there so tragic. 😢
They shouldn't have even raced at Las Vegas.
Richmount?
RIP a great racer
To IndyCar's Credit, Substantial Track Safely Improvements (for all Tracks) were Instituted by IndyCar, after Dan's Death.

You know what they said: Gentlemen, start your coffins. No heroes here.
Ridiculous the amount of cars allowed to race on a one mile track
Very stupid
Kenneth Killeen Track is 1.5 miles, but I agree there were too many cars.
The number of cars wasn't the factor. Pack racing was the factor.
Miguel Canache 34 actually.
And cars that weighted like paper
they did no practice as a group until the race started
34 Indy cars on that tiny track? A fence above the wall "like a cheese grater" for crowd view?
I've been to a Indy race in Kansas they are extremely loud and fast
230 mph or more? 😕
2021? 10 years later Dan Wheldon death.
cars had advanced, track has.. not ridiculous RIP Brother.
fairly true, had these speeds been lower this would probably not have been a tragic accident
Every race is dangerous in these cars
So very sad.
Ummm are they four wide on turn three...? Too much ...
Its the sound of 1 million cats meowing
Then let me add one more: *MEOW* to all the cats in the world!!! ~ JonseyG 👲💖😹
Died a legend😞😭
Died a hero
To both, I say that he certainly did!!!

Oh my god, how dull is Indycar?!
I was sitting very near there
It could have been such an awesome race.
It really is too bad that SMI ruined a good track by adding banking for NASCAR.
Yes.I remember when it was flat.it was a lot more enjoyable
@@Herecomesthethruth Flat and bumpy
Im not a big indycar fan but i gotta say this had to be one of the dumbest ideas in recent motorsports history
Super prised only one person
pretty sad
IndyCar is liable for this garbage. You could tell on the first lap someone was going to get badly hurt during this race.
awful day for indy.
This is far to many cars on that track at the same time! That is an accident waiting to happen!
Sounded evil from the start.
