That would be a beautiful story to see the boys grow up and be champions like their father. Dan left a wonderful legacy, and I’m glad he is still being remembered today.
#LIONHEART
I think they're go-kart racers so yeah they will
Give their grandpa a heart attack! He doesn't want them to race indy cars!
@@RacerGirl48 the Wheldon family told you to speak on their behalf? Lol
@@GarrenTAquatics i know Susie's family pretty well.
I respect her for letting them race.. I wouldn't let my children do it if I lose my husband in such a tragic way
Their grandparents are nervous for sure.
You cannot hold people back from their destiny.......and you shouldn't try too.
I can understand that feeling.
As humans we can have such a weird perception of risk. Even though it seems the opposite of what you expect the irony is that there’s probably more risk in driving to the track in their family car than there is while racing when they get there.
We take what we see as acceptable risks everyday without thinking about them but hesitate at others that “seem” more dangerous. If we restricted our lives to only the “safe” things we might be surprised at how small they actually became.
At what point do we stop living because the risk is too great.
Honestly her eyes see it as Dan would have wanted it
@@denehardy949wear your mask and get your vaxx! 😅
Respect to this strong lady. Sebastian and Oliver are going to be a force with their father’s talent and their mother’s strength.
Oh Dan, hard to believe 10 years has passed, still remember it like it was yesterday. Race in paradise Dan we still miss you!!!
Today marks ten years to that fateful day in Las Vegas when we lost Dan, he was a great man on and off the track, and he's still missed to this day. RIP Dan, and thank you for the legacy and the memories.
Wow ten years on, can't believe it's been that long. RIP Dan Wheldon.
It would be more than fitting for Dan's sons to become champions. I am sure he would be looking down smiling.
Hes not. He dead. Forever. And now she wants to kill her little boys. No one is looking down from heaven smiling because they left their children without a father. Delusional ass people.
Oh man, I remember it just like it was yesterday, when Dan Wheldon won the Indy 500, it was magical. I also sadly remember when he was sadly killed at Las Vegas, the horrific footage, like many I was shocked, with my eyes wide open when I saw the footage. I would love to see both Sebastian and Oliver race in IndyCar one day, and the icing on the cake would be one of them winning the Indy 500
I'm so happy to see you all doing well despite the tragedy. I was there that day. I worked the Sunoco gate. Dan and I talked a bit over that weekend. We talked about family because my son was a cub scout at the time. Some were coming from camp to the race to see the Boy Scout Car. I showed him pics on my phone. I explained I was new to the track. My second major event. But I loved it because I had a friend who I grew up with who raced. He was just super nice and easy to talk to. He told me he enjoyed making new friends. I remember the day B4 he was rushing to meet his friend and family to go to Dinner that night. The next day. He said dinner was amazing. I said Have a great race. Be safe. He said thanks. Until we meet again. See ya soon.
It still breaks my heart to this day. I think of you all often. Dan was one of a kind. Even in our short few days as "new friends" Bless you all. Sending love to you. Shannon❤️
Knowing that they have Andretti Autosport backing puts me at ease. I know they'll do their dad proud and carry his legacy on for years to come
Keeping their dad's legacy, she could've kept them from racing but she knows they connect with their that. Sending love to them🤍
I respect parents who leave the choice to their kids achieve their dreams despite how dangerous. Parents who don't let their kids follow a dream because THEY are too worried are the selfish parents. I storm chase and it's always been my dream. My parents of course will always worry because that's what parents do but they have always supported me. It's in my blood it's a part of me and I've dreamt of it as a young child. Same goes for these 2 boys and their mom - so despite everything mad respect for her.
Hopefully one day I will see Dan's boys race and win world championships. Good luck lads...
What an incredible mother she is.
Wow, 11 years now as I watch this. Great to see the family flourishing. Whatever their future entails, I wish them the best. Would be great to see them carry on the legacy if possible.
When a kid grows up with no pressure and loves to race cars DO not stop their dreams from coming true.
How precious and beautiful! God Bless this family. Dan lives on forever in our hearts!!
So happy to see his kids racing and obviously dreaming of being like their dad
What an awesome story ! Thanks Dave ! R.I.P. Dan ...
Big respect to mom for supporting her sons racing I say supporting rather than allowing because they would find a way to race behind her back and it’s good to have a parent supporting them
Dan... A man, a father, a husband, a champ, and A LEGEND.
Those boys have huge shoes to fit in.
But, I am sure they can do it.
Good to see them smiling
Champions never die!!!he has 2 sons to become champions again!!the race is undone!!
Always in our hearts RIP Dan Wheldon 🖤🖤🖤
Such a damn shame! Dan Wheldon was a super star and hilariously funny. Suzie, you're the real MVP for letting those boy's experience greatness, like their Father! God Bless Dan and His Family
God bless this strong woman. God bless these strong kids. We’re all pulling for you guys!
If either Seb or Oli win the Indy 500 in the future what a legacy that'll carry on.
He was one of the greatest ambassadors our sport has ever seen. Even if he wasn't going to take over Danica's ride the following year, he would have been excellent as a commentator. It's nice to see his kids following in his footsteps. The cars are a lot safer now, and their dad is a big reason for that. (Referring to him testing the new car design, not the crash)
Great interview. I love watching the Indycars, but with a little fear, hoping that it will be a safe race. The speeds are outrageous!! Brave and talented men's sport.
I love how she said those boys are my saving grace 😪🤧🥰
Just wanted to let you know that I met Dan at a Goodwood festival of speed early that year, and when I asked him to put his signature at the back of my pocket size BIBLE,
Dan did so...and I told him that, this(the Bible) is the ultimate vehicle to salvation!
He agreed!
God speed and every blessing to Dan's family
Best regards
Edmond Kostov
Thankful this story was told for the family ❤
Excellent, thank you.
They look so much like Dan ❤️
No they look like their grandpa, Susie's dad.
Thanks!
RIP to Dan Wheldon. Good luck to Sebastian and Oliver
Great competitor and an absolute gentleman 👍👍👍
God bless this family
Sin City is also in grief as Daniel left the world after an accident at LVMS. Words can describe what we express on his passing, as will the actions we undertook on this.
That breaks my heart.💔
strong woman. Respect
The music at the beginning hit me, it hit me hard...
Great story.
RIP Dan, & thoughts with all family's around the world that lose loved ones in normal day to day road accidents. NEVER drink or take drugs and drive. The road is for sharing & caring about our fellow motorists.
I miss Dan Weldon
❤️❤️❤️
What an impressive woman!
Go get ‘em boys!!!!
Go Dan
Amazing wife.
This was a very classy an honoring his legacy.
😪 R.I.P. Sir
Dan Wheldon was a great Indy Car driver.
I still have Dan Wheldon's signature at the back of my Bible
RIP DW!
I feel bad
💔💔💔💔💔🕊🕊🕊🕊
I hope those boys both get to winners circle at IMS.
A great Champion taken from us way to soon !! Thoughts and prayers to Susie & the boys !!! As for the boys y'all make Papa proud by winning races & someday become a great champ like Dad was !!!🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
R.I.P. DAN 💔🙏💔🙏
Now Sebastian is in cars and there's a film coming. All the Wheldons are brave and strong for continuing to race. I will never forget that day. Info about the film m.imdb.com/title/tt27543996/plotsummary/?ref_=tt_ov_pl
Dan didn’t die, he just went to give Dale, Eric, and the other racers in heaven some real competition!
So sad Dan is gone.
Dan won the Indy 500, yet didn't qualify for Vegas unless he would start last and basically become a circus (and rating's) stunt for a million dollars.
What do you mean he didn't qualify? He qualified better than multiple drivers, but recieved a penalty for crossing the white line. Of course it didn't matter, as in order to go for the $5 million challenge, he'd be starting from the back anyway.
@@v12tommy Dan won Indy previously that year but could not find sponsors so he could not field a team for the various Indy races during the year. He was invited to Las Vegas with the proviso he'd start last and try for a $1 million dollar prize should he be the winner.
@@jameshoran8 It was actually a $5 million prize, and had he won, he was going to split the winnings with a fan. He still had to qualify for the race though. He qualified 28th out of 34 cars, and then took the option of starting last to go for the $5 million. And I actually misspoke in my previous comment. It was Buddy Rice who was penalized for dropping below the white line in qualifying, not Wheldon.
They should do the day that he died or his birthday and have everybody or just some of the people that was there or on the race track with him when it happened I have a bunch of little go carts on the same track that the accident happened on I let his kids race with the racers that was once racing with him
Ask him and think for a second before you can blink
Weld on
why his son were a Faze Shirt?
Because he’s a kid
Of course she lets them race. It's how they can spiritually connect with their father, and I'm sure it's therapeutic for them. She's a great mom.
Dan wheldon came and gone too quick
I wish he was still alive but his death gave indycar increased safety for other drivers and introduced the halo screen cockpit and other safety features
RIP Dan Wheldon
Can't agree more
SO SAD 😔 THAT DAN WHELDON IS NOT HERE TO WATCH HIS SONS SÉBASTIEN AND OLIVER WHELDON RACING GO CARTS. SINCERELY KATHLEEN CONE APOPKA FLORIDA.
Hope by advancements we could bring these death down to zero.
Old guy??? That was rude as f.. lol poor Suzie
They need a step dad?
one of the boys wearing a faze clan logo shirt lol
Wait was that them driving the truck lol
It's dangerous but.. let's do it anyway
Everything is dangerous. You can slip in the bathtub and crack your head.
Looks like she is enjoying the money he made still though
Guessing your ignorant ass missed the part where they were business partners, her taking care of public relations, etc?
Try again, blue balls...
The boys are rude, she needs to work on that.
So are you but whatever
No they are not. I've met them both and they are sweet kids
I mean, they’re kids
