    1. QWERTZ layouts exist
    2. That button in the back is probably a dead man switch, trams don't reverse in normal operation because it is unsafe to do so.
    3. Trams don't get wax and blow dry... also, I would love to see Prague included, in the main depot in Prague you actually drive the trams through the washing machine... and also Škoda 15T are just cool
    4. Power is still on because trams have batteries and can actually run on batteries for quite a while, they only need grid power for traction and sometimes lighting and AC
    5. There was probably a section divider in the hall or you exceeded the speed limit, you need to disable traction when passing one of these because there will be no power for a split second. In Prague trams you do this by pressing the junction >0< button.

    Austria uses the German layout which is QWERTZ. This means Z and Y are swapped. That's probably the reason reverse is mapped to Y.

    Paul; on a German keyboard, the "Y" and "Z" keys are reversed. That could cause confusion to someone who is unaware.

      It always causes confusion if an app tells you to press Y.

    According to the website of the Wiener Linien (the tram operator in Vienna) each tram is washed about once a month and a single wash takes about 45 minutes.

    These devs need more competition. Because what they charge for and what you get isn't very much at all. It's rather bare-bones.

      Niche products (in all industries) are always expensive. When only a few thousand people will ever buy a given product, you have to divide the development cost between far less customers than if you expect tens of millions to buy it.

    At the back there is a button that says "Tür" or something like that. If you push that one the door stays open and you may even drive with that one open.
    You can also open the first door by pressing the upper right door botton (Numpad 9) and close it by using the "secret" button on the outside. Then you don't need to run that much ;)

    So basically. Hall 5 is the destroyed one. You can see where the trams are standing on the outside without a roof thats were hall 5 used to be hall 3 is not accesible as its only for repairs or so. And then Hall 1, 2, and 4 are the ones that have roofs

    There is no main depot in Vienna, this is one of several depots around the city.
    Vienna has one of the largest tram networks in the world with a line length of 225 km and 28 lines, one main depot would not be feasible.

    and yeah it is completely normal to have your panto down and the vehicle maintain its power.
    We also had the possibility to open the last door, so we wouldn't had to walk all the way to the front all the time, that would be nice to be implemented as well though
    seems like a fun game though :)

    • @Steve211Ucdhihifvshi
      @Steve211Ucdhihifvshi Před 3 lety +1

      Yep computers need power etc. So there's battery power for lights and things, but without the pantograph there's no power to the traction motors.

  • @shisukenakamura6679
    @shisukenakamura6679 Před 3 lety +3

    Pretty sure trams have a internal battery to operate some systems when the pantagraph is down. Otherwise, how are you supposed to get into the tram or put the pantagraph back up without any electrical power? Everything is computer operated nowadays.

  • @hadiamrane
    @hadiamrane Před 3 lety +2

    Now a couple of things to say: First of all, the "deformation" bug is a bug that is still ongoing in this game. We reported it milion times to the devs, they fixed it but a certain moments you still get it, like when you emergency brake for example. The tram goes "in" and "out". No idea how to say it but I guess you get to know this the more you play the game. It feels like a physics thing.
    About the "free extension" for the game. There is a new "line" coming: the U2Z. Tomorrow actually, which is actually nothing new, the only "new" thing you get is at schottenring, the turn around point, that's it. But it goes to the stops that are already in the game. There is a proper long, new line coming for free, but when, we don't know.
    Also, I see you going back and forth when getting out of the tram and back in. Let me give you some tips on the door controls. Press the number 9 key to open only the front door, it stays always open until you press the number 3 key. But instead of going back and forth, press the number 4 key, to let all the doors go open and close, but instead of you going running back to the front, just open the rear door. You can see if you can open it or not when the green light around the button appears. If so, the door is unlockable, if not you can then go back to the front. This would have saved you a couple of minutes of video ;-)
    Also, if you want the doors always to be open, just press the "door" button in the middle of front screen where the speedometer is. When pressing this button, it becomes red and all the doors stay open until you press the number 3 key to force close them or the number 6 key.
    This is all the standard keyboard layout, I can't speak for those who have changed their keybindings.
    I hope this helps ;-)

    Well, the future in gaming should be cool. One day we'll start up our gaming day by driving our sim to an airport, fly into Cologne (Koln), take a river journey up the Rhein to Mainz, grab a bus to Frankfurt, take a fast train to Vienna, then drive the tram there.... and probably manage a hotel as well with some kinda job simulator addon... I've seen weirder things materialize, so we'll probably get the all-in-one-dlc hopefully somewhere in my lifetime. (probably by the time either games are more compressed, or having 32 petabyte DDR624 memory is the standard. Give it a few years... gamers and geeks will figure it out!)

  • @Consequator
    @Consequator Před 3 lety

    The 'breakpoint' would be after an hour of trying to figure this out, the 'brakepoint' would be a little bit further up the track :P
    Also they should allow you to be in the tram while its being cleaned.

    I had been watching many of the "SPAD risk" railway videos starring Paul Tyreman, and in the first of that series, he said to "use the DRA", driver's reminder appliance, in case of a starter signal being at danger, or starter signal not present ("The remedy is simple: Use the DRA. Use of the DRA in this situation is mandatory," points with his index finger "check your rulebook!"). I had a question on the "Not-Aus Sicherheitsbremse" with the white arrows pointing anticlockwise. Is that something like a continental European version of the DRA? I saw a mockup of a ETR 600 train in Lucerne at the Transport Museum and saw something like it and somehow thought - ah, this must be the DRA! After seeing the SPAD videos so many times, I could not help but wonder if I was right or not.

    • @danielbarla-szabo2487
      @danielbarla-szabo2487 Před 3 lety +1

      Train and tram sims are a pretty odd niche, and specifically for trams, there aren't many alternatives. On the positive side, while the state at release wasn't great, the developers have fixed a lot of issues, and added one extra tram, and a smaller line extension for free. That said, it's still essentially just one line, which few people are going to be very happy about. However, the detail on this line/city is spectacular, especially when compared to other sims in the genre. It's hard to overstate this; almost every other sim is cookie cutter buildings and autogen, while here you recognise almost every scene from the real thing. Still a bit on the pricey side, I agree, but I'd rather have one good line than 3 mediocre ones.
