@@TonyHobbs yeah my cooking never goes to plan even at home lol. When I'm out I mostly cook cheap packet stuff like noodles, pasta etc but the dream is to cook a nice fry up one morning out on the moors. I have a jetboil minimo and need to put it to better use then the above and coffee/tea lol.

Have you done a review of the PHD Jacket you are wearing Tony ? I am a massive fan of Mountain Equipment and always have been. I am on my 4th ME lightline now and i was gifted my first one when i was 15 and had it for ten years. I do own a couple of Rab bits but much prefer ME . All my Rab things have leaked down and feathers in the past and every time i use my 1100 sleeping back i get covered in down which has never happened to me using ME. I have an expedition ME Barbados jacket which is like wearing heaven but a bit bulky and i am contemplating in selling one of my Hilleberg tents and investing in a PHD jacket to take advantage of the lower volume ....How do you compare the PHD with other winter down jackets ??? It would be interesting to know your opinion. PS You could have jazzed up that chicken a bit better, Gordon Ramsey would have filled his swear jar if he seen that :)

Everyone just goes on about Rab sleeping bags etc like they the best out there or never heard of anything else lol I can't comment on them as never used them but my sleeping bags are all PHD and amazingly good. The jacket is good but bloody expensive and I went for the K edition which is nice lol light packable but no way is it -15c or I'm a China man 😅 Zero maybe and if your warm blooded maybe minus 5. I wear it comfortably in my minus 5 s bag at zero but take off once warm lol its often on when sitting up in sleeping bag keeps back and arms warm . So yes it'd premium but not rated to what they say imo
No video on it like I say in a upcoming video on the MLD liner I probably ought to do more kit videos type thing ....
I don't have any other down jackets to compare it too but this one packs down very small for its warmth but see previous comment. I do think generally PHD packs smaller lighter than many but that is a perception. I have several of their jackets all fab! Worth the money if possible. I like them tbh just wish rating more accurate lol but it's a jacket it's subjective.
@@TonyHobbs Thanks for that. I have a few down jackets and honestly believe the ME Lightline to be the best in its class as is the ME Lhotse gortext jacket. I currently have the lightline like i said and the ME Barbados but i also have the Rab waterproof one that cost over 400 quid and its shite for keeping me warm also the Arcteryx Thorium shite too . I also have the Arcteryx goretex Beta AR and its no better than any other goretex jacket but 500 quid . I have a Haglof down jacket and a Montura both much better than the Rab jackets i have had. The quality of Rab stuff compared to other leading brands is not worth the money unless you are getting it at a discounted rate. I can't get past it being called someones name too...can you imagine if Rab Carrington was called Richard or Brian etc. Zips on Rab gear are shite too and always catching. As for limits etc i wish there was an INDUSTRY Standard instead of the excuse for one that gets tweaked to suit each label. Bit more of a common sense approach would make things less complicated like the more of a loft the better insulation in relation to a category and class i.e a 1,000 down fill power will be warmer than a 700 because thats what everyone expects until they find themselves freezing wearing a 1,000 because thats what they would naturally expect in a common sense world ! Back to PHD you are getting a quality product with a pedigree from an old school master of his craft and the biggest benefit is volume and weight thats costing the hefty price tag...at least he didn't call his gear Peter because my vest iOS Blue and i wouldn't want to be seen wearing a Blue Peter. You are right though , everyone thinks Rabs are something special because thats all they know..i guess thats marketing for you . I bet if you did some reviews on the PHD gear it would be the next Hilleberg gold rush so just wait a few weeks before i get one of their bags after i have off loaded my Rab shite on eBay first please Tony :)
