extremely satisfying. cities should really implement these into their urban decorating
Noise
@@no_one6749 these aren't the loudest thing, especially compared with stuff like cars and trains
worlds loudest decoration
@@6legend as if cars don't exist
if I ever hit the powerball I'll be calling you guys up, absolutely beautiful displays
Call us any time - ty!
please, the background noise,
This is sick. Good job
Thank you!!! Check out our other Split Flap vids.
I just want it to display all departures from my local train station in realtime...
could make an analog space invaders game with this maybe
play "bad apple" on this
Thinking we can make this happen!
@@OatFoundry let's make it go viral
wouldn't it be sick to integrate something like this with a smart assistant?
Normal display: giant flip clock.
Ask your smart speaker a question and have the answer display on the board!
Not great for night-time use, absolutely amazing for a morning briefing!
Would be pretty cool if this were synchronized to music. Has any artist contacted you to make a music video? :D
If you could minimize the black space around the flaps then you could construct real canvases.
That's why we made Picture Flap!:)
It's so silet compared to older ones
Play dwarf fortress on it!
ohhh yes that is a good idea.
I emailed ages ago about pricing, but no one got back to me. Are you still manufacturing and shipping these?
Sorry if we did not get back - we are still making these displays!
Please email us directly - Kristy@oatfoundry.com
I’m curious, what order are the flaps in? They don’t appear to be the standard alphabet first, then symbols/numbers, and vice versa
It's in alphabetical order but intercut with numbers and symbols, I suppose it's done that way to let you display things without having to wait too long, it's more versatile in a way:
if it was the full alphabet and then numbers, you'd have to wait for the full alphabet to pass before you reach the numbers and vice versa, whereas here you can already get bits of the message before it's fully displayed
here's the order from what I've been able to gather:
0&ABCI-DEF2'GHJ3,KLM4.NPQ5#RST6@UVW7!XYZ8? (orange, yellow green) 9 (blue, pink, white, black or empty space)
The number 0 also stands for the letter O and the same thing happens for I/1
@@__-cd9ug That's.... Interesting to say the least
Neeeeeed!!!!!
I see these are stareting to show up in the retail sector for sale... vestaboard wants 2900.00 for one of these for home use, what kind of retail pricing do you guys offer?
We build every display by hand to order. So, the price varies. This Split Flap is 7R x 32C - 4' H x 8' W. You'd need a few vestaboards to reach this size.
@@OatFoundry That's actually an interesting way of giving a price quote... hehehe
How much would the same board cost?
12K
Love it❤, could imagine getting one for our marketing campaigns. How much would this one go for...???
Unfortunately we cannot disclose to price of this specific sign due to privacy for our clients, but our displays start at $15k.
@@OatFoundry Is there product support in Europe?
@@groovysalmon6857 At this time our only shop is in Philadelphia, USA. Our support team works virtually with our clients to fix any issues - if there is a need for us to be on-site for physical issues, we'll be there!
If you a viral video, try to get a Linux terminal to output on this display and do some commands
Is it loud or it's just like that on video ?.
The signs can be loud. It depends on the size. This one is 8ft wide x 4ft tall. 224 individual modules spinning at once. If only 5-25 were spinning it would be softer.
@@OatFoundryi see. Is there any way to reduce the sound ? maybe put sound dampers in strategic places
@@rohanpoddar2562 Good thought - the way to reduce sound is actually by changing the speed at which flaps rotate. This is adjustable in the control web app we built for the displays.
A lot of people like split flap displays because of the sound
Now play Bad Apple on it!
bad apple when
I want to type on one of these in real time, just to see how responsive it is. I'd settle for watching a video that includes a shot of the keyboard the person is typing on, with audio of the key presses, just to see and hear how laggy this is.
It's 4k 60fps perfect for gaming
Is it really that quiet?
Hey Rick, this video helps explain how loud our Split Flaps can get --> czcams.com/video/lexFjjtUPrE/video.html
No comments ok then first to comment
Now play snake on it
Here's Snake! czcams.com/video/ovqTss07KDY/video.html
Shut up and take my money💶
Too bad they cost more than a fuckin car
