I have the worst luck with tires and have had a tire pop while i was away from home 3 times now. 1st time I was a block away from a tire shop and they were able to help. Cost me $600 (for 2 tires) and about 4 hours. 2nd time I was at Walmart and they replaced it for $160. 3rd time I was on the side of the highway and a man came out of nowhere with one of these plug kits, fixed it, AND flagged down a DOT truck with an air tank to pump it up. Cost me nothing and took 10 minutes. So beyond thankful for that man.
Alot of people seem to hate on this style patch. I worked for a tire service company for 4 years then ended up opening my own repair shop. I've heard and seen alot of success rates with this style patches. In a bind or low on money this will work. We use a more effective method that's more durable but this will work. I wouldn't use it on any type of 2 wheel vehicles. Vehicles that carry heavy loads and equipment (semis, dump trucks and so on).
This works in some cases but their are instances where under full air pressure the tire might give too much resistance and won’t let the plug tool go in. Best bet is to remove tire off vehicle, let air out and proceed with the plugging and then add air to correct PSI and spray soapy water to see if it’s leaking air.

I'm going to say this as a guy who actually works on tires. These are emergency kits. These will last you sometime between 5 minutes and 5 years and there is no way to tell how long. If you have to use one of these I always recommend getting it professionally plugged afterwards. Technically most places are supposed to refuse to replug them but as long as you don't do a terrible job putting it in then any competent tire guy should be able to yank it out from the inside and put in a quality patch plug
@@igp3130 That's very debatable depending on the kind of tire. My dad has one, he does the exact same thing! Only one difference and its that he widens the hole with another tool, but uses the same for putting the string it
As a professional tyre fitter, this video is definitely a lot of help if you're stuck in a situation where there's no garage to get to. However, this method is only a temporary repair and it's recommended that you get to a garage as soon as you can. Stay safe ☺️
I am also a tyre fitter, and i did the same worm repair to my tyre, its been almost 1 year and its still going strong lmao
I also had a puncture fixed liked this and drove around about a year like that, if you do it properly it will be okay for a long while.
Stfu you don’t need my money
These are not temporary repairs at all. You lot use the exact some method.
We even use these on mining trucks for permanent repairs to wheels.
These repairs will outlast the tire. Just gotta make sure you buy a quality plug.
You don’t need to fix that hole, you need a whole new set of tires
No he doesn’t
@@veryrare5473 Do you not see how bald they are, he’s gonna hydroplane, but he probably used old tires for the video
Yeah. But, if the tires still have tread then this method is good. if you do it properly.
@@AxnerSaab well that’s not true because from the Firestone website it states that you tires should have treads that are at least 2/32 inches, you can also do the penny test
Depending on the type of tyre, my michelin pilot super sports looks like that from the factory
i could literally watch dis all day loooong
Thanks, man. Really helped me out.
"Spray it again to make sure air is not"
Plot twist, air is still coming out and that's why it was cut short!
Imagine 😭😂
Funny ha
Lmao that would be funny but the original video still have a couple seconds to it
forgot to put the glue
The dude: ah shit here we go again.
I chocked on my water when he drilled a hole in his tire and began "if you have a hole in your tire..." Bruh...
Tires are junk anyway, send the plug
the tread is bad on the tire. time for a new one anyway
Tread is bad, probably had a new set waiting and took the time to make an informative video.
@@MakaylaChildress is that tread even legal? i always thought it was 1/16 inch deep
@@MakaylaChildress I guess lol maybe he could make one on how to change a lightbulb I bet the same people could use the clarification on the process
thanks! my dad got his tire fixed again he watched this video and got his tire fixed again👌🇷🇺🍸
Yup always check to make sure that the nail you just used to pop a tire popped it
*Screws a screw into the tire with a drill*
“If your tire has a nail in it or is leaking air”
I think we understand why. What's the point of this comment again?
I think it’s a view fishing rod

So there's no whaaaat!!!?!? No whaaaattt. I need to know there will be no of what !!!!! D:
I respect this man so much he PURPOUSLY poked his tire to make a really good tutorial
Tire was already bad. There's no usable tread left. He was likely already replacing them.
This just happened to me and this vid relieved the stress I was havin
Thanks bro! back on the road…
My dad was a mechanic and I used to watch him do tire repairs all the time and when I saw this it gave me so many memories about him fixing cars and stuff
That was a loving memory of dad ❤️
@@eld8494 I agree
