This engine is ideal for ultralight Helicopters!
Just when you thought genius was finished
Complex, but simple, great tech. With bright future.
Ive been designing an airplane for 25 years this engine would be the perfect one.
This thing will wear out very fast.
And BTW you can't have a "1-stroke" design because the power and exhaust strokes have to take place at different time.
Well, a little faster , yes, Because of not precisely good paths of the cylindrical rollers towards the round curve of the guides .
Did u not watch the video it’s explained
you dont need to run it for long on torpedo...
Good innovation
it works, the only question now is durability or reliability
Fuel efficiency ?
According to experts, this engine cannot run well without a turbo or supercharger, it's uses the supercharger or turbo to prevent the exhaust air from getting inside the intake Port
And what about lubrication , cooling , and exhaust emissions? Does it burn and consume oil ? I'd like to see it adapted for a small, light vehicle like the Aptera . I would expect this drivetrain to be much lighter than an EV with a big, heavy battery .
@@javadog6288 if you love technology just like me, then you know this engine needs to go through countless number of testings before it gets into production
Lubrication is not a problem.
A bigger problem is the shock load on the rollers at the beginning of the explosion and the different peripheral speeds on the cam mechanism depending on the cam diameter and width of one cylindrical rolle. Rrolles must have conical shapes and cam area with half cone angle.
The opposed piston design is interesting
its not a 1 stroke anything. its an experimental 2 stroke engine. and that's ok. I'm really interested in its real world abilities.
Awesome
Nice, design of car compresser.,.
Any place where can I find this 3d plastic model for study?
It’s like two ac compressors mated back to back sharing cylinder bore
Where i can buy this 500 cc engine ?
So it's a two strokes engine but we'll call it one stroke because it sounds cool
Yeah !!! 🙂
Excellent Information❤😂
Cam track and piston rollers lubrication would be my first concern. Otherwise, this is very interesting and promising. The less moving parts, the better, plus it seems less technically complicated as compared to Achates.
No, ask yourself, How the rotation of the pistons would be prevented, so, that the bearings would run on the exact predicted/constructed path !!! ??? !!!
@@kopronko Wobbing plate, Axial/ Barrel engines, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axial_engine had scavenging, cooling, servicing problems.
Lubrication is solved just by adding the adequate amount of oil to the right place, at the right time.
The 4 cylinder air cooled INNengine has an unparalleled weight to power ratio.
SAE reported that under any circumstance, Schnuerle, Loop scavenging for 2-Strokes is better than Uniflow scavenging.
In this type of engine, I'd have the intake ducts largest as possible, with no bends, that in Wankel help blocking backflow of mix into intake manifold, in this type of arrangement may add nothing.
Size and shape of ports is also important, deserves specific research.
For the combustion chamber in big INNengine having best results, it could be carved on piston head, a lot of Diesel experience exists about this.
Gesund +
I'm excited to see the next generation of ice engines
How abaout fuel consumption, better?
Give me some data, please. Brake specific fuel consumption, THC before catalyst, brake mean effective pressure, indicated mean effective pressure.
Scavenging will ruin your emissions, side forces from piston and guide to cylinder wall must be very high.
How do they make sure that the pistons do not move radial? The bottom bearings contact surface are just lines, considering clearances there must be an additional piston guide. I think it is that linear groove on the lower part of the piston.
And the spark plug and injector position... spray will hit the liner and there is a reason why almost all newer engines have a center position for spark plugs...
This is not a simple easy engine...
doesnt need all that. its engine for one way drones. or maybe torpedoes... small and strong but wont last long. but if only half of engine was used im sure it would be cheaper too
But how much nm torq does it have?
this engine will pull down for many decades to come the EV. 500cm3, 35kg, 120CP! That is the greatest achivment in the last 100 years of "German engineering". Farewell Hans!
Rica etsem altyazı seçeneklerine Türkçe dil seçeneği ekleyebilir misiniz ? Sizi anlamak ve takip etmek istiyorum !!!
Go one step further! Replace the connecting rods with the amazing Scotch Yoke connecting rods.
When is this engine being commercialised
What about fuel consuption?
Looking forward to future automotive developments, and a carmaker/s partnership for engine supply agreement
hmmm..the angle of attack of those pistons is too shallow, friction ans side loads will be extraordinarily high;
that is just a converted A/C compressor, most work that way, but with valves and no opposing pistons.
They accidentally made an AC compressor
Yes it looks like the air con compressor in my Citroen XM
Where’s the scavenging pressure coming from? In an opposed piston two stroke the scavenging pressure has to come from a blower, and that isn’t shown here.
I love the idea cruise oil must drop 1.60
I think this one is a😮 vibration free engine
those roller bearings, in the hot interior of this engine, seem me to be the weak spot
How about mileage?
is this engine already in expluatation? in any car?
The side thrust from the rollers climbing the swash plate inclines will cause premature and significant wear to the pistons making this concept a non-starter in its present form.
The pistons have a full-length skirt to help keep them straight and there likely are other locating features not shown or emphasized/explained in the animations. Add some sort of bearing at the cylinder base for the skirt to ride on, that takes care of side-loads much like a crosshead design. Journal bearings on a crank shaft have a much harsher life and still manage to last a long time on nothing more than regular oil and filter changes. The piston-cylinder bearing could be as simple as an oil channel feeding pressurized oil between the skirt and cylinder wall. That may even be how oil gets sent to lubricate the piston rings and cool the piston head.
Waiting for Inn engine to take over
Later I'll get one for my car
Why doesn’t Spain start building cars with their new engines and sell them to the world?
because their engines dont work
The swash plates will never handle tork and will fail very quickly. 😎
That is really clever.Lots of luck men and women?
Shouldn't each side to rotate opposite direction
This is not a new concept, it's been done before.
When? Where?
@@rll9911It look like Opposed-piston put in Dynacam Engine / Revolver-Cam Engine .
Damn right it's not a new concept. Barrel engines have been around as a concept since the early 1900s. At least. Cam type, Swash plate, Zee Crank etc. By the early 30s when the US Army gave up on them for aircraft use they had blue prints staked to the rafters of a hanger at Wright Field. Failures one and all. In addition Cam type engines with radial layouts have been tried even to the point of reaching the test phase and actually flying. The Chaminez in the US passed government tests and underwent trials by the Navy.
@@rll9911
T hink this engine combines the swash plate mechanism to the opposite piston 2-stroke principle(Junkers Jumo 205 for example).
Nothing really new.
The Sarich orbital engine is a type of internal combustion engine, invented in 1972 by Ralph Sarich, an engineer from Perth, Australia. It never was a success
Too bad is not in production yet. I would be ready to buy one now in my ultralight airplane, wher I need 100 HP. but need to be a light weight engine.
So when will one be sold in a motor bike.
Question is does it roar like a muscle car? 🤔
Life? Who will last 100,000 km?
External combustion
Stirling cycle
Why does the Mazda have a supercharger on it?
Because this goofy engine can't even push a Miata down the road.
Lubrication & cooling aspect is not explained........... Lubrication is the main concerned area, thus the engine service life is expected to be shorter
Swash Plate engine - similar to hydraulic pump.
Use it as an ultralight engine
This engine good for moter bike not for car or truck 😊
Its a two stroke not 1
It’s great in graphics 😊only
Micro Deltaic / AC compresor...
Manufacturers can use smaller batteries which will be kinder to the Earth and weigh less, improving efficiency, The batteries won't need to be subjected to Level 3 charging which heats them up and shortens their life, adding to the landfills. The batteries will always be optimally charged for the longest battery service life. All the simplicity of battery power without the range anxiety. For those who live in condos or apartments, hybrid is a necessity.
i need engine, how much dollars
one way drones... but not the cheapest ones.
How much dollars please
How much dollars 😊
😮suppar
You really don't need 8 pistons. One can use 4 and get the same amount of power and save on components
So let's see it work in something??.
Put in a go cart and let’s see what it sounds like ….
It’s a two stoke isn’t it? What the piston just goes down and stays there? Lol
Is this real?
Si. Y funciona.
1Stroke.
This may appear to work if turned , But it will never overcome such a small angle wave drive plate to turn itself effectively
Cool, a motor for swap my Fiat 126 😂
A squash plate, opposed piston two stroke, nothing new.
2 stroke x 1 rev x 2 p
= .5 stroke
Nothing new ,a swash plate opposed cylinders. Many aircondition compressos work the same . Junkers and Napier in europe/britain operate the same way during WW2
What about efficiency?
Scavenging looks questionable.
1 stroke? Where? This is a 2 stroke engine, 1 stroke engine is a Jet engine.
Too much smoke without any dyno tests. No info about max/idle rpm, about max torque (150 or 160 nm?) rpms on their site. No info about reliability. And it's 2S engine sure, not 1S.
It's a 2 stroke engine.
I have big doubts about its area of use. the transmission of the torque produced is really not ideal. and I believe that this engine had been tested on an MX5 with the addition of a compressor, not NA.
In short, it seems to me to be yet another hoax.
Rankine cycle
2 stroke
It is not 1 time because intake and exhaust happen at the same time, th n compression and than ignition. So, 3 times...
Two
2 stroke*
It’s just a swash pump engine, nothing remotely new . I drove a prototype car from a major manufacturer powered by one of those thirty years ago. Very smooth, but poor torque and fuel economy.
Too complicated and missing free pistons!
There's no one stroke not possible
It's a 2 stroke..
Every combustion is a waste.
This should be reported to CZcams for false information no such thing as an one stroke
Airplanes need 175hp. This engine is too weak
This engine is not suitable for boat ⛵⛵⛵
Axial engines have been around for more than a century, and never a success. The power estimation is overly optimistic.
Too late, the environment has no more time. We should have stopped using fossil fuels by now.
You'll condemn hundreds of millions to starvation. If you really think this is an option I ask for you to go first, for science.
Waste technology
Conveniently did NOT point out the SUPERCHARGER in that test Miata......sloppy.
Opposed piston engines usually need superchargers, but that would spoil the whole '35kg' sales pitch.
If it was "1 stroke" it wouldn't.
