Calling the Jump Pack Intercessors 'Assault Intercessors' got terribly confusing when you then brought out the boxes of Assault Intercessors.

I think what they should have done was call the new marines the same as the old marines, but with an armor upgrade. The new armor has a 6+ invulnerable save, for the same price.
This way everyone wants the new armor/sculpts, GW makes its money, and older players can play their old models and be fine for casual play.

I've been doing a lot of kitbashing on my marines to 'save money' (and I made enough mistakes to make up the difference). Like using MKVI bodies with primaris/firstborn arms/shoulders/backpacks so that I can save a little bit on the cost per marine while still maintaining a unified silhouette. Recently bought a bit lot off ebay that had the arms/shoulders/backpacks for around 20 marines, including five jump packs, which was just about as much as I needed for now. Didn't even consider magnetizing the backpacks but I might try that now.

100% my beef with everything primaris, all the different unique armours, all the special bolter variants and the 50 different names based on just slight equipment differences make it really confusing to know what is what as a non-marine or older edition player.
Maybe unit names based on their role was boring or hard to trademark but at least it was easy to understand (but that doesn't sell so many overpriced unique kits if you can just magnetise one or two kits).

    • @ninneplug
      @ninneplug Před 7 dny +6

with primaris it's all the same only in different colours. every chapter looks the same, everyone looks identical... but hey gw are atleast putting in some effort to fix their blunder, even if it's quite mediocre at the moment
today a five man box costs as much as if not more than a ten man just because it has jumppacks instead... gw upcharges their models to insanity.
the Assault intercessors with jumppacks are the same as the regular assault intercessors, atleast when looking at the weapons lists of them. the infiltrators and incursors are practically the same guys just with their scopes, heads and powerpack attachments swapped, gw even made them "separate boxes" even though each one came with all the parts to build either.

Kitbash newb here (literally never done it), but can I use initiate and neophyte torso from the black templar combat patrol to make robed dark angel intercessors? Or are they a different size?

Never cared for the old jump packs until now. At all.
But they’re so much better than the new ones. Props to the kitbashed jump assault marines. Assault Intercessors have 10x superior posing because they’re not on those ridiculous jump rocks

I wish you got the first of the new 30k box. 30 mark 6 at a bigger size. So many bits…… oh the bits…..

Kind of wondering if GeeDubs' realise players love to re-use older kits with new ones to save money (and look way nicer) and just "discontinue" kits to sell their new ones more instead.

I imagined GW discontinued the jump pack for the *EXACT* same reason you're making this video
Can't have a small percentage of players kit bashing & magnetizing parts when they can force you to buy the new (and expensive) kits with the jump pack built into the model

In the UK primaris jumppack intercessors are £37 which is around $47 😅 it doesn't seem too bad but it's Deffo not 60 usd here

Alternatively, buy two Heresy assault marine boxes. Cost the same and it has a unique aesthetic.

I just started my SoB army. I’ve always wanted to kitbash them to make them look like Slaanesh corrupted battel sisters. Needless to say my wallet hates me.

The reason GW is making every marine type so unique looking, instead of just a marine with attachements to his armor (which makes more sense at their level of waning technology relying on ancient suits of armor) is specifically so kit bashing them is reserved only for people with a lot of tools and money into the hobby already
