Tour of the Jack Daniel's Distillery in Lynchburg, TN. Both inside and outside. Thank you tour guide Ben. Also, walked around downtown historic Lynchburg.
Three shots of JD, we hope you chilled for a while before getting back on the road, LOL...J/K That tour was great!! Charlie loves when you talk automotive stuff and these kinds of things, me I just need my fix of Jax each day. Thanks for adding more of Jax at the end of your videos. Happy trails to you and Jax. Charles and Janet
Thanks for taking us along on the tour. Enjoyed it. I always like stuff like that. Wasn't much of a whiskey drinker but when I did I didn't mind drinking some Jack Daniels. They made a special bottle for the Series Finale Party of Sons of Anarchy. Lots of SOA Fans wanted a bottle but it was just for cast and crew.
Great tour, thanks for sharing. I have only been to one distillery, Glenfiddich, in Scotland. It was amazing to me how much evaporates through the barrel, the angels share. I like Jack, though it is not my favorite. Nice to see so many trees in bloom, here in WV, nothing is out yet, it was 38 last night so we are a few weeks from flowers.
Thanks for sharing this. I learned a lot about how they make this alcoholic drink. It was very interesting. You must have had a great time. I'm glad that you are enjoying yourself once again and Jax the cat too.
Man what an awesome tour, I love these videos Eric. Keep them going for all us poor people who will never get a chance to see the wonderful places and sights you see. Top job mate. Cheers from Oz :)
Awesome tour Eric! I knew you couldn't get close to the Jack Daniels distillery with out stopping and taking the tour and getting a snort. If you come through VA buddy has a similar setup if you want to visit and maybe have a "taste testing" session that night we might even have a field party in your honor.
I don't know which way you are going but when I was in Kentucky I found out about the under ground zip lines. There is also an under ground boat ride! And the largest caverns! Look it up. I didn't get to do them but sounds like fun!
Btw, have you seen the Makers Mark bourbon distillery in Kentucky? You’d love it. In fact, there’s a “Bourbon Trail” that you can do of all the major distilleries in Kentucky. I would love to see you do that and take us along. Also, can’t get enough of Jax. Such a cool cat.
That was super fascinating. We own a 1" x 1" plot of land in Lynchburg as members of the Gentleman Jack club. Awesome history about Jack kicking the safe and dying 6 years later from continuing complications of that initial injury. Poor guy must have had diabetes. Cutting out the sugar and the carbs stops feeding the gangrene. They surely didn't know that back then, though. I tip my hat to those who build empires and create corporate America. Thanks to them, we get to live our non-conventional lifestyles and enjoy the fruits of their labor, and sometimes for free.
Hey Eric what's up man. I have a question for you did you.did you keep your old hood ornament from Tilly? And if so are you planning on installing it on Bertha?
Some type of side window tint can provide extra security for Jax if someone breaks the glass it will keep the window together and possibly prevent entry where un-tinted glass would shatter into 1000 pieces allowing an easy escape for Jax and for the person who broke it to get in.
Nomadic Fanatic I kinda wondered that with the after market front windshield tint. Glade to know its at least a good measure in Jax safety in the event of a crash or robbery after market tinted is better than factory! I hope you have a lock on the generator any one could still just unbolt it. Best of luck on the travels... I know you probably don't want to talk about this but did the RV deal that fell threw that made you drive across country all work out for the better in that your eyes have been opened to the rest of the USA and you have your self a good Ford and a new home? I assume the original RV deal was some troll making you think there was an RV when there wasn't but some how Karma all worked out in the end and you got a reliable rig from Camper Van Kevin. Would be nice to have some type of update video on how the whole trip has been a true adventure. Since I doubt when you left WA you had any idea all this was going to happen.
I went to this place in 1977 when I was about 12 years old. I remember a bunch of jail cells where prisoner were held.. Humm, I don't remember the story behind all of that, but I do remember an old fire truck park in a small barn and it was all dirt roads and walk ways. We had to walk around every place we went.. It took about 25 minutes to do the tour back then as I recall.. I don't remember anything in this video, but you are talking 38 years ago..
Great video Eric. Thanks for the tour! I have heard that George Dickel is in the same area using the same stream/water source Jack Daniels is. Try Dickel, it is a much better Tennessee whiskey in my opinion. You may even want to erase your tattoo after you try..... haha!
Eric, enjoying your video's and appreciate the various tips. Earlier you had a section on leveling your RV using a simple 3 tiered heavy plastic yellow "platform". I have been looking everywhere for the one you had...Walmart, Camping World etc., do you happen to remember where you bought yours?...I am here in Oregon so thought if yours were putchased here in the PNW I could track it down. Many thanks for any info you have about where to find them.
Great video's bro! Suggestion if I may...lower the volume on the music a bit...good choices but little to loud compared to the other sound volumes. Awesome videos tho!
Great video . Thank you so much. Wow the tasting had me drooling and it's 8.30 am here. I'm a Jack's fan and its the first time I see its birthplace. How many kinds did you get to taste? Happy thoughts for you and Jax :-)
Thanks for sharing the video, I have wanted to stop there on the way home in the spring. We pull a boat home so I did not think there would be a place to park. Did you see any places that a truck pulling a boat could park there?
Ya lucked out and came at the right time LOL There used to be no sampling on the tour. The distillery is in a dry county and State law was created to allow the distillery to offer samples just two years ago.
Nice tour. Thanks for sharing. Why does Jack Daniel's have the "No. 7" designation on the bottle? Did they waive your admission fee because of your Jack Daniel's tattoo?
i have been there. but i was to young for the tasting tour. i still have a bottle of jack from when i went. also when i went i ate at one of the little dinners. food was amazing. it was funny a cop was in there on his lunch break. and he was talking to a waitress about how she had to do 2 days of community service for under age drinking. like it was no big deal.
I have always wanted to go there, but I seem to always be in a hurry to get somewhere when I am in TN. Maybe this fall I can make the time to get there.
Could you drive ok after all those Samples? LOL, jk. I'm going to have to go there, get me some Samples, didn't know it was like that there. great video
When I started drinking 30 years ago Jack Daniels No. 7 was 90 proof. Then it went down to 86 proof and now it's 80 proof. Don't know why but I swear it doesn't taste the same now either.
Love the A-Team van....do you say you were driving to Washington state?...I go to Seattle now and again from Ireland...what bars do YOU recommend there?
Maxine Abarbara it was well worth 15 minutes off i-65. It's an old historic town like Tombstone that sits on "main st." - but we've build highways around those towns. Very easy to get to still.
Patrick Sikes They made the city pass a permit based exception on the distillery grounds for sampling only. And still can't sample the flavored liqours.
I'm almost afraid to ask but I wonder about the origin of the name of that town... Fascinating tour though, even if I'm not much for the end product. I prefer the nectars of Kentucky myself.
littlepaw1969 are you referring to lynching, as in hanging a person? That was name after Capt. William Lynch of West Virginia. That is documented back to 1780.
Thats my favorite Drink sour mash Whiskey. Double shot of Black Jack with a coke back. 8 oz of wine and Im drunk, all day on sour mash and Im fine and dandy ;)
Eric, I absolutely love your cat, Jax. He is the most unique cat with the best personality. You can tell he absolutely adores you. Take care.
Sweet!! That tour has got to be on my list of things to do! Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful tour! That tour guide did a great job also. I never would have thought to go here! Thanks for the Video!
I really want to visit this place even more now I've watched your video....thanks for sharing.
Three shots of JD, we hope you chilled for a while before getting back on the road, LOL...J/K
That tour was great!!
Charlie loves when you talk automotive stuff and these kinds of things, me I just need my fix of Jax each day.
Thanks for adding more of Jax at the end of your videos.
Happy trails to you and Jax. Charles and Janet
SpiritBear12 Yeah but just the JD flavor caused him to kill a 12 pack in the parking lot afterward Lol.
Sorry, I am not a drinker, I just thought for me that would be - Me dancing on a table in my bra too much, LOL : P
that's what i was thinking---------sampling tour.
i will definitely be visiting there.
thanks for sharing Eric.
Excellent intro, jax really makes the site so interesting
Another great adventure. Love waiting to see where you go next. Keep the videos coming.
I like my whiskey clear...aged 2 hours...but out of all the bourbons in this world, Jack Daniels is one of the best...great video, as always...
Very cool, thanks for taking us with You. Another thing I want to see.
Thanks so much for sharing the tour, very interesting! Downtown was cool too, hope you enjoyed!

Great video Eric, thanks so much for sharing...
Great video eric looking forward to seeing the JD distillery myself, Its been on my to do list for my holiday to the USA this year :)
You have come a long way since this video. Better be thankful for what you have accomplished.
Great tour. Thanks for sharing 🐱
Another great video, totally enjoy your channel.
Nice tour Eric, really enjoyed it. Thanks Gus
Thanks for the tour! :)

thxs for sharing kool tour
Very cool thanks for sharing. Looks like spring enjoy.
What a neat place! I bet you felt right at home.

Dude your cat kills and so do you great video you got yourself a sub
Being a Scotsman and knowing 'Scotch' is the best whisky in the world I would put Jack Daniels as a close 2nd!
:-)
Sound Media Didn't whiskey come from over there?
Really great video! I'm not into Jack Daniels person, but that seemed to be a great pit stop regardless!

***** Side windows are tinted actually. At the lowest tint available. Hardly even noticable really.
Nomadic Fanatic I kinda wondered that with the after market front windshield tint. Glade to know its at least a good measure in Jax safety in the event of a crash or robbery after market tinted is better than factory! ***** Its you again! Aren't u that dude who posted some vids of the Bates motel lol?
Nomadic Fanatic Eric do you watch Bates Motel and if so do you like the show?

I know I put the bug in in your ear about Jack Daniels way back when your Memphis trip didn't go so well. Glad you were able to hit it up.
That was a great vedio.Thumbs-Up.
When I was 18 I drank a bottle of Jack........I still cannot stand the smell to this day and I am almost 50
The aroma is magical. It's the most manly smell in the world.
Simalar to the Bells whiskey tour in Scotland..good vid ;)
Great video Eric. Thanks for the tour! I have heard that George Dickel is in the same area using the same stream/water source Jack Daniels is. Try Dickel, it is a much better Tennessee whiskey in my opinion. You may even want to erase your tattoo after you try..... haha!

Cool video, bummer for no camera area's. I'm a George Dickel rye whiskey fan myself also made in Tennessee.
Thanks for sharing the video, I have wanted to stop there on the way home in the spring. We pull a boat home so I did not think there would be a place to park. Did you see any places that a truck pulling a boat could park there?
Jim Beam is made in Kentucky, along the Bourbon Trail
Who would push did not like ? This was a great video from start to Finnish !
Ya lucked out and came at the right time LOL
There used to be no sampling on the tour. The distillery is in a dry county and State law was created to allow the distillery to offer samples just two years ago.
That made me thirsty !! LOL But , I'm not a huge Jack Fan. Now roll on into Kentucky and try some Wild Turkey. :)
Nice tour. Thanks for sharing. Why does Jack Daniel's have the
"No. 7" designation on the bottle? Did they waive your admission fee because of your Jack Daniel's tattoo?
***** Lots of ideas about the number 7, but no one knows for sure.
Makin me thirsty! I bet it tastes way better right there from where they make it!:THANKS FOR THE VID ERIC!
Yeeeeee Freakin Ha !!!! Jack Daniel’s !!!! Now that was a cool video.
twins born.welcome to the world jack and daniel.
i have been there. but i was to young for the tasting tour. i still have a bottle of jack from when i went. also when i went i ate at one of the little dinners. food was amazing. it was funny a cop was in there on his lunch break. and he was talking to a waitress about how she had to do 2 days of community service for under age drinking. like it was no big deal.
Thanks Eric, that was a great tour that they give. Do you know if both tours are the same, except for the tasting ? Outstanding video !!!
I have always wanted to go there, but I seem to always be in a hurry to get somewhere when I am in TN. Maybe this fall I can make the time to get there.
Could you drive ok after all those Samples? LOL, jk. I'm going to have to go there, get me some Samples, didn't know it was like that there. great video
I missed Jack D brewery but made it to Makers Mark which was totally cool. Tfs
Finally someone mentions something worth drinking!
love that cave wow. nice
Good video Eric
Good video. Interesting tour however I would have chosen the no sampling tour as I am not a whiskey guy. Thanks Eric.
I'm watching this as I sip my moonshine.
That's Awsome Very Nice Video Like Jack Intro Omg Looks Yummy Jack Daniel Lol Have A Great Day
When I started drinking 30 years ago Jack Daniels No.
That was really interesting kand I’m not a whiskey drinker....
ERIC. Are all your electrical hookups working flawlessly in your van, like they were doing in Tilly. No bugs in the system?
Is there some way that you could say what highway a place is on or what roads you used to get there? It doesn't look like an interstate at all.
Maxine Abarbara it was well worth 15 minutes off i-65. It's an old historic town like Tombstone that sits on "main st." - but we've build highways around those towns. Very easy to get to still.
Nice tour of the Jack Daniel's Distillery,Did you show them your tattoo and get a discount?
Does they allowed SCUBA diving into this spring ?
We were there 18 months ago and they did not do a tasting. I thought they can't because of the dry county. Has that changed??
Patrick Sikes They made the city pass a permit based exception on the distillery grounds for sampling only. And still can't sample the flavored liqours.
its true about quality whiskey in that i never get a hangover.
Interesting. Which was your favorite?
great video Eric... did you catch a buzz?
I can't believe I've never seen this one.
Nice hat. Did you buy a JD bottle opener to install in Bertha? Also, how many bottles of JD did you buy?
You are cool. Greets
I'm almost afraid to ask but I wonder about the origin of the name of that town...
Fascinating tour though, even if I'm not much for the end product. I prefer the nectars of Kentucky myself.
It was name after the founder of the town John Lynch. If I remember it was founded in the mid-1700s.
I'll look up Lynchburg if you look up sarcasm.
littlepaw1969 are you referring to lynching, as in hanging a person? That was name after Capt. William Lynch of West Virginia. That is documented back to 1780.
Oh great, another snowflake. Just what this world needs.
I'm so jealous of the jack Daniels tour I still wouldn't get jd tattooed on me.
What GoPro do you use?
Been there......done that!!
5.00 ,that's a lot of whiskey.
Eric, are there ways to film secretly , or is this a prison type violation if they catch you
Did you get drunk off of those 4 shots lol?
***** Nah he's a great driver! Btw thanks for the tour Eric?
that cat by the way is boss.
Christmas 2019 👍
How does Jax stay cool when your out and about, I was just thinking about that
Family friendly tour for my parents and their adult children. LMAO
Great video ... why don't they allow you to filming inside the distillery? Anyhow JD is the#1 whiskey
Thats my favorite Drink sour mash Whiskey. Double shot of Black Jack with a coke back. 8 oz of wine and Im drunk, all day on sour mash and Im fine and dandy ;)
What's with the Thumbs Down???? What's NOT to like about this video??? This was GREAT. I want to go.
