- In this video, I'm answering the question: is Quest 2 still worth it in 2023?
Many people are asking if they should still buy a meta quest 2 here in 2023. With all the new VR Headsets coming out including the Meta quest 3 and PSVR 2 it is safe to be concerned about buying an oculus quest 2. So is the quest 2 still worth buying in 2023?
Well if you are a fan of VR or wanting to be more involved with your video games than sitting in a chair then you will probably still want to check the quest 2 out. Getting into VR can see scary but in all reality simply buying the all in one meta quest 2 can make this jump relatively easy. However, is now the right time to buy the quest 2?
Lets find out.

Everyone has to start somewhere ^^. There are definitely a lot of things to grab ones attention in the VR Universe.
holy shit you intro is nice ❤
quest 2 got me into VR and i only got it a few months ago i love it, already pre ordered the vr2 for my ps5..so much fun
Same here. I put off getting a VR headset for about two years and finally got the quest 2. Sadly, I now mostly live with it on my head as an almost permanent fixture :-(
@@Delboy666 lol i feel you bro, i was actually really impressed with the psvr2’s graphic capabilities, i still have my quest 2 but i’ve grown pretty attached to the psvr2 especially after seeing the difference in games like after the fall and the walking dead
@@Hollobaby1231spicy time any good on VR ?
So I have a pc. I used to have a quest 2 about a year ago but we sold it. Then after we sold it I realized there were a lot more things to do in vr than the stuff that I did, and that’s what makes me wanna get a new one. So what vr headset should I get when I have a vr ready pc?
Its totally worth it. Heck my brother just got us the Quest 2 recently for Christmas and I am HOOKED. Hooked enough to where I will get my own headset and let my father use the one my bro got us for Multiplayer and other uses. :)
Other uses?!?!?!
With quest 3 coming this year and expected to be a massive upgrade getting a quest 2 right now is dumb
Other uses = porn 💋
@@mitchellp7739yeah shut up
As a person who's had the quest 2 since launch it's an amazing bit of tech but the amount of AAA title high quality replayable games is pretty low my main games I play are onward which I'm bored of now because of lack of custom maps I've played all the original maps a million times and all the good custom ones people have created so I'm pretty bored of it now ..contractors has the right idea putting lots of different maps and mods into the game but even then it still gets boring playing the same game over and over population one has added a sandbox editor so you can make and play maps people have developed but most of them are still not as high end as they could be and get a little boring aswell..although props to them for adding the sandbox editor more games should follow suit. The flight SIM style games are pretty weak too warplanes battles in the Pacific was my favourite flight SIM game it was fun for a while but got boring after a while due to lack of maps and new content. All the other games I've played since I got the headset in standalone I've lost interest in over the past few months Breachers Vr is a potentially awesome game that should be coming to the quest 2 at some point this year but is still in alpha and we don't know when it will be released or even if... apart from that I'm not really looking forward to any of the new games coming out ...meta should take a look at some of the upcoming mobile games like warzone and try to port those over to the platform also there are no multiplayer dogfighting games with jets or spaceships which really disappoints me also lack of multiplayer shooters that are of a high quality.. plus there should be a decent flight simulator I tried one called world flight which lets you fly anywhere in the world but the graphics look like playstation one graphics the same with grid legends I was looking forward to a good racing game but with the graphics being so bad it put me off even buying it ...there are plenty of big games coming to mobile this year meta should have them ported over like rainbow six siege warzone ..battlefield mobile apex legends etc but apparently EA are pulling support for apex legends and apparently battlefield mobile isnt being released now all of those titles would have greatly benefited the platform and brought more people into vr but they haven't made the right choices in terms of what games they have developed for it there are some good titles but more variety is essential to ensure people don't get bored and stop playing just my opinion but I have played alot of hours on the quest two and those are my main issues with it at the moment and it makes me think even if the quest 3 does get released there's not much point in buying it unless there is enough decent standalone games to justify spending 500 bucks on it or whatever it will cost on release.playstation vr does look to be promising and I think there will be plenty of titles that are exclusive to them that will make the quest two look pretty bad and alot of vr enthusiasts will opt for the latter rather than buying a quest 2 or 3.
ive been saving for one so i can play ewith my friends for a while but im not very good at saving money and ive used over 50 pounds and i hate myself for it because if i didnt i would have a vr by now (most of thed money i used was in shops and the rest was on games)
I think it's worth it if you don't pay full retail after the price hike. I just got my first Q2 256gb for $150 used in dirty but perfect condition. Buying used lets you have extra dough to spend on more games, a better head strap, and other comfort accessories.
Buying one used tmrw haha💯 used electronics is fs the way to go
@@jackdurka6026 where u find the used ones
The price hike wont happen until August so we still have time before that happens. :)

Well worth getting
What if I already have a series X
Psvr2 won’t work on pc though
I just got a second hand Q2 new unwanted gift,i couldn't wait for the quest 3...its worth it and im still going to get the Q3 when it does arrive...can always use the Q2 for guests.
The Q3 is literally a massive upgrade.
Wait till you switch.
It’s like going from an Xbox to an Xbox 360.
Blown away
Getting meta quest 2 because its like 510 for me and meta quest 3 will be like 800 for me keep in mind im in Australia so when it releases i will have to wait a long time for it to be on the market for Australia
Can I get PlayStation vr2 if I have a ps4. Or should I get oculus quest 2?
no, its only compatible with the ps5.
It's a sony. Don't get stuck.
I've got both a good pc and a ps5, which vr headset should I buy if I want to get into vr?
I’m in the same situation. PSVR2 are really enticing but they require a cable plus they don’t work and basically guaranteed not work with pc.. that’s very problematic for me… I think ill wait for the Quest 3 unfortunately
@@ishay3000 Agree, but I'll also try to get my hands on a pico 4 if possible. Unfortunately it's not available in North America, but I've seen some in amazon uk, fr, es, etc, that are affordable enough for me to consider them an option.
@@jesusmanuelmtz.villela1657 Get a Quest3. Main issue with the PSVR2 is the lack of backwards compatibility. This means the games lineup is very limited. Quest3 is fully backwards with Q1/Q2 games as well as it's own games and is fully comparable with PCVR. If you have a good PC then yeah its exponentially better. A lot of the best VR games are PC exclusives and not to mention hella games are cross-buy on the Quest store. Meaning you get both PC and Quest versions. And its very nice to have both versions even though the PC version is far superior. And you can do wireless PCVR too. Something that most PCVR headsets and the PSVR2 lacks the ability to do. Quest2 already does PCVR very well and Quest3 will be able to do it even better. It's cheaper than PSVR2 and has much better specs as well.
I have a good life hack for anyone interested. Buy the Quest 2 from a brick & mortar retailer that offers a warranty like Best Buy. The Quest 3 comes out later this year and I'll be able to trade my Quest 2 in for $400 Best Buy credit that I can use towards the Quest 3 because the warranty covers the full price of the Quest 2. I'm essentially walking out with a brand new Quest 3 having only paid the difference + warranty renewal fee (in case my Quest 3 breaks), which is $60-$80 for the warranty if I recall correctly.
yes
my dad took my oculus i don’t know how long it’s been since i’ve played vr gorrila tag bonelab it’s been so long.
Bros feening for mid games
Helped with my buyers remorse
I want to know if the quest 2 will become obsolete and not usable anymore after the quest 3 comes out because I don't have that big of a budget.
No, they are gonna support it for a lot.
@@Maku98_ are you sure bc I want to buy it
@@NOO.328 you can look for it yourself, meta plan to supports it along side the quest 3. And even if they stop supporting it it would after at least 3 years, and even then you can still use it. Worst case scenario, the day it will be no loger support the quest 4 will be out.
ordered mine and its coming very soon, i cant wait. Honestly im sure they will support it since tons of users have it and not many will even upgrade to the 3 if they are using it for PCVR that easily. Besides you could always sell your 2 as a used VR headset and get the 3 for much cheaper a year from now (if the 3 will even be worth the upgrade)
They say the oculus meta quest 3 is coming in 2023 october
In other words yes its worth it but buy refurbished or used.
Guys am afraid any quest you buy will shutdown someday after the the new headset adition will come out
No?
its fucken sad that i can never get into vr bec even the lowest end ones cost like a car in my country
wait!! just wait, screw the money and waitt! hoping quest 3 isnt just up grade
I agree 110%... The quest 2 will become dead as soon the Q3 comes out.
it only 4 more months now
Yeah if u hack the resolution 😁
Should I get the 2 or wait for 3
Have you ever played VR? How excited are you? The quest 2 will have support for a long time and there is so much fun to be had with it still
@@MISSIONVR i bought the quest 2 last night I couldn't wait for the 3😂 ill have it for a bit sell it to a friend and buy the quest 3
Psvr2 end of story
@@Thepvpguy128 don't u have to have a ps?
@@silversniper471 you do. but its worth it if you want the graphics
PSVR is not compatible with PC, therefore inferior to the Quest 2 which is standalone and PC compatible.
I think it's still worth it
Ofc it is and will for the next 2 years
I’m going to wait for the Q3
That’s going to be harder than you think
It’s gonna be some piece of junk that meta pushes out. They did the same with the pro. 1.5k for something with the same graphics as the quest 2
I have a quest since a while now and imo quest sucks bad the device itself is okay its not the greatest but its not bad the real issue is meta and their monkey devs that cant put a good software together even tho they get stuffed with money like bruh give up hire someone to do your work
Wait for Q3! The quest 2 is a No No.
But the quest 3 it doesn’t look like they are focused on games and they are more focused on adding the real world in
Blah blah blah blah. Just get to the point buddy. Too much redundant chatting.
