8:26 this scene of harry thrashing everything around him and saying "YOU'RE A FRAUD SPIDER-MAN" never fails to make me laugh
2014: "What is all this stuff?" "The future"
2022: "A web of opportunities"
The Mystery guy is Gustav Fiers, his 1st comic appearence was actually in a book called Spider-Man: The Secret of the Sinister Six. He does have some comic appearances, but they r rare.
One of the best things the MCU ever did was giving Andrew Garfield (and the handful of good ideas from TASM) the time to shine that they deserved in NWH. It took a great actor who clearly loved the role, but was stuck with a horrible series, and gave him a great send-off.
The MCU may not be perfect, but man, No Way Home was the perfect love letter to all the Spider-Man movies and a celebration of the franchise.
The way it's desperate to make its own universe is like Batman v Superman too. All these bad movies trying to jumpstart a universe to emulate the MCU and they forget to make a good movie.
The MCU movies were good movies first before they became a universe. People forgot it's as simple as just make the movie good ...
I blame Avi Arad
I wanted Marc Webb to have a second chance
But what I didn't want was to see him working with Disney on their live-action remake of SNOW WHITE
You highlighted the main problem with modern Hollywood. Every sequel, prequel, reboot, remake, spin-off... they all have previous, often beloved, works or franchises, so whoever saw them before is expecting something from these things. But then we discover that they are mostly soulless cash grabs (looking at you, Disney), and they have nothing of value to add to the source material.
Then the authors of these sequels/remakes get angry because "people shouldn't compare these to the originals". YOU DID THIS! You made it EXACTLY because it was tied to a more successful movie or show, and you get pissy because the fans criticize you? I sincerely hope that this phase comes soon to an end, because every time something original is allowed to be made, it's 10x better than whatever remake they're planning for the future.
Screw you, Hollywood.
God I hope we get Holland's run or Into The Spiderverse
TASM1 not only had the writer from SPIDERMAN 2, but also had a writer from the HARRY POTTER movies, and a writer from ZODIAC
All because of LAURA ZISKIN
TASM2 on the other hand, had the writers from TRANSFORMERS
All because of AVI ARAD
Steve Kloves , the Harry Potter screenwriter is one of the worst Writers to ever exist in Hollywood.
@@sudeshnamukhopadhyay5214
Care to explain why? As far as I'm aware, he did make Hermione Granger a nearly perfect person in the films.
@@sudeshnamukhopadhyay5214 Honestly can't say he's one of the worst with the amount of garbage I've seen from other writers. Deffo not one of my personal faves tho
Raimi's movies feel like Bronze Age Spider-Man (campy and character-driven)
Webb's movies feel like 90's Spider-Man (dark and edgy)
Watts' movies feel like Ultimate Spider-Man (modernized and world-driven)
Wow I think that’s the best analogy for Spidey movies I’ve ever heard.
Literally started at the 35 second mark. I didn't know CZcams was that precise in when something was made available.
People shouldn't blame Marc Webb for the failure of this franchise
They should blame AVI ARAD for stuffing so many characters for the sake of toys sales
Maybe they should blame him for making the movie bland
@@Andyfierd Webb was the only one behind the scenes with actual passion for the movie
He made the movie feel engaging. Without him, this movie would've been nothing
The Ken Penders of Spider man
The suit from this movie is still my favourite. But yeah... this is like the 'Batman and Robin' of Spider-Man films.
I never realized the, “NOW THEYRE ALL MY ENEMYYYYYYY” rap in there lol
Your breakdowns are genius *chef’s kiss*.
The kingdom hearts vid you just dropped was great too
Man going to miss not getting my daily lowart video in 8 days.
Hoping one of these videos is a start of a Naussicaa movie vs manga comparison series. Alternatively a “was gargoyles as great as we remember” series would be nice
I feel bad for max
A mean-spirited story is the result of lazy writing
@@LeonardoKlotz not narratively emotionally, but I do know that the story could’ve been a little bit better
I remember enjoying this movie more than the first, at least. Think I'd still prefer Spiderman 3 over it, but this movie was pretty alright. I love the direction they went with the music though lol
Would you consider making videos for the Tom Holland trilogy? I think it’d be interesting to see your perspective on the films.
Despite its flaws, I still like this movie a lot and the first one. On the topic of Spidey not wanting to share blood, there's this understandable uncertainty surrounding if his blood would be safe. Harry was also pretty desperate and seemed almost unhinged. I don't believe the movie had to directly state what they're already implying. Every interaction between Peter and Harry was uncomfortable.
Been loving your output the past couple of weeks man. I know you can't keep it up, but I hope it's hyping you up.
Even after ruining everything twice
They gave AVI ARAD a big thank you in the credits of NO WAY HOME
Dude how many times have you posted basically the same comment? What is this Avi Arad vendetta you got going on?
Kyle, stop writing comments its getting really cringe
Let's go! I was just rewatching the Spectecular Spiderman review and now this upload :D
I thought the many Villians was a problem, the ending felt rushed, the long gay sex between Peter and Harry was really random, and I didn't really care for the parent stuff
3.5/10 wasted opportunity
8:33 same
The story for both movies is my main issue.
Don't forget about MORBIUS
Ok but the question now is: Will you also review the recent Spiderman Trilogy with Tom Holland?
2014: "His greatest battle begins"
2022: "A new Marvel legend arrives"
This may be first video where your opinion was curve ball to me. I'm kind of impressed.
2:05 they lost her
Loved seeing the retrospectives on all the old movies! I would love to see you cover the MCU Tom Holland trilogy as well in the future, since it wraps all the live action movie generations together. But I'd also understand if that'd be too difficult to do if you aren't into the MCU as a whole since you usually need a decent little bit of context from the surrounding movies to know what's going on.
Electro's power cannot be contained
People use thier Meta knlwodge that Sony was planning supposedly a bunch of future movies to then read so much of this film thorugh that lense. Seen on it's own everything in this film till the post climax stuff servs the plot of this film specifically in some way, and then at the end I woudl have without that metaknloedge only assume done future film was being set up Amazing SPiderman 3, my outside knloedge that the SInister Six were suposed to have their own seperate film makes me view Sony as stupid, but it doesn't effect this film.
Rhino is a Old Open and then a Coda, that's all he needs to be, minor villians play similar roles in other Superhero films all the time without anyone copmlaing.
All those things in the cases are refrences to other Spiderman villians, but they're also just things Oscorp Built, it'd be odd a for scene in that location to have nothing there.
I enjoyed this movie perfectly fine.
Tasm 2 sucks
Blame Avi Arad
@@Zombiesnyder13 I blame Avi arad
this movie was actually my first spiderman movie I went to cinema with my older cousins and loved it when i watched the first like two years later in a under the cloud theather and i heavily disliked it . the criticism you bring up is al valid buti cant see it as any other thing then the movie that i have very fond memories of
If Marc Webb doesn't return for TASM3, then Sony should let PHIL LORD and CHRIS MILLER in charge
If they let them produce the movie as well, they could save it from AVI ARAD, just like they did with SPIDER-VERSE
3:20 he's worried about Rajit Ratha reappearing and making a Lizard army with the blood. Honestly wouldn't put that past Sony.
“THEY HATE-A ME-“
The electro storyline I believe was stolen from an episode in the animated series that was playing on MTV a while back. Where there is a girl who kept messing up Spider-Man because of her infatuation and shrine of him. The messed up thing for me was that they gave Jamie Foxx that embarrassing looking white guy comb over. Like it is almost impossible for a black person's hair to be done like that unless you use Jerry curl or some junk LOL. At that point I couldn't take the movie seriously at all
Great review, though I find Spider-Man 3 better than The Amazing Spider-Man 2. As flawed as it was, Spider-Man 3 still had a lot of good in it and the ending in my opinion still ended up being a satisfying conclusion. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 however was just a whole mess even messier than Spider-Man 3 that I couldn't even find the film funny. But regardless, I'm interested to see your reviews of the MCU Trilogy with Tom Holland.
If Sony greenlits TASM3, they need to get rid of AVI ARAD first
Or else it will be just another failure
Patton's son plays Spiderman's father
I've always liked these movies. They definitely have big problems, especially 2, but I've always had fun with them anyway. Largely due to the actors I think.
7:49 yms made this same joke edit lol, also im a lil sad you didnt put in the "YOURE A FRAUD SPIDER-MAN!!!!!" clip. i used to quote that every now n then
I've never thought how good a comedy this is. It's so over the top and dumb, that it's a campy comedy. The actors play this stupid material seriously.
Heh wonder if Lowart is going to go with the Live action MCU Spider Man movies or isn't going to talk about those not wanting to have to tlak about the other Marvel movies connected to them.
I straight up skip the scenes with his parents at the start whenever I re-watch both of these movies. They're so meaningless in the grand scheme of things and boring to watch as a result
I blame Sony
I can't even understand what the hell is going on, It tries to soave all these plots as once it doesn't work. First you got Electro then you got Harry's sickness which later he becomes Green Goblin then he has his plot of his problems trying to get with Gwen and then you got his plot trying to find out about his parents.
The movie has 4 plots in total it tries to put them all into one movie but just doesn't work, I feel bad for Andrew he was a great Peter Parker but was trapped in these bad films... Sorry Andrew as much as I like Andrew his series was bad.
I don't even think it was a good idea to make a sequel because the first movie was just "meh" to begin with and if you are gonna make a second movie then ONLY HAVE ONE OR TWO PLOTS NOT ANYMORE THEN THAT IT RUINS THE MOVIE!!!!
Maybe save Green Goblin for movie number 3
it doesnt matter how long movies are but whats in them.
Spiderman was nothing without LAURA ZISKIN
After she died during the production of TASM1, there was nobody to stop AVI ARAD from ruining everything
Ayo Kyle, you have to chill fr!!
Ayo
Lol
I was one of those who cared, so I hated this movie so much when it came out
ahh
Amazing spiderman 2 is a good moovie
Still think this was the best version of Spiderman but the worst version of Peter Parker. Had just the right kind of energy for Spiderman but was given an absolutely terrible story to work with.
AVI ARAD ruined everything again
Now he's gonna ruin BORDERLANDS and KRAVEN THE HUNTER
The same way he ruined this movie and MORBIUS
I agree with you, but you have to admit scrolling down from one of your previous comments, thinking that it’s a bit bizarre that you commented so many times about the same person, and then seeing another one of your comments on the same topic is conceptually pretty funny. I’m worried that this comment might by offensive, so know that I’m not trying to insult you. Have a great day.
Yeah this is the worst spider-man movie by far. Even aside from all the actual problems it has, its ultimate sin is that it's really boring. It goes on for two and a half hours and only about 20 minutes of it is actually entertaining at all. It's a shame Andrew Garfield got the short end of the stick, he could have been the best Spider-man ever
Nobody cares about his parents
Hope this video is good
I had a different response to this movie. I definitely didn't find it funny, but I also went in without many stakes, and to be honest, the movie is hard to get bored with. It's always moving, and something interesting is always happening.
I love this movie unironically, so naturally I hated every second of this video and it made me seethe a little bit. It makes me sad to see people rip this movie apart and acknowledge the good while maintaining it didn't work for whatever arbitrary reason. I could explain why a lot of this criticism is funky, but I've defended this movie to the point of exhaustion. I'll just say I think this movie is marvelously heartfelt, visually creative, and thematically beautiful. I definitely didn't expect to love it so much when I first saw it, since I was so annoyed with the first one. It pleasantly surprised me that it became my favorite Spider-Man movie, and still is to this day. This movie made me fall in love with Andrew Garfield's Spider-Man.
I hope if you rewatch it maybe you can see how it came together a little better, I think it has its act together more than most people realize. But I don't blame anyone for not seeing it that way when the first film was so nonsensical and there was so much cynicism surrounding Sony's iron grip on the character at the time it released that still lingers over this film's sentimental value today. I think Marc Webb took the whacky studio mandates and made a swan song to the character anyway, knowing it might be his one and only chance to make something legitimately soulful; and people understandably don't like the idea that something like that can work with such heavy oversight, so they view it with that bad faith mentality and never really see the movie from a true believer perspective.
Dude, calm down, people are allowed to have different opinions about a movie lmao. You're writing paragraphs trying to cope with the idea that some people don't like a superhero movie you enjoyed, it's ridiculous.
I don't care what anyone says, the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies were the best ones
