    I have had asthma all my life, I was prescribed prednisone as a child in the 80s then becotide then seretide now breo ellipta . I started noticing dark patches on my chest and under arm, they are very smooth like velvet I thought for a long time it was a birthmark I never noticed before but now I can see they are growing. I also have "chicken legs" and thin arms which I am very self conscious of to the point where I don't wear shorts in public. Every time I purchase a ventolin the pharmacist starts to lecture me about neglecting to use my preventer. Frankly right now I'd rather suffocate to death than end up with the complications coming my way

    Hi, I have all the symptoms of cushing's syndrome, I had been on high doses of testosterone HRT over a number of years because of klinefelter's syndrome 47xxy, only test dun was a blood test witch came back negative, Dr Leighton J Seal then ordered an MRI scan of my pituitary gland for scaring, scaring was found but the specialist here in Brighton stated in her opinion it was nothing to do with my pituitary gland it was my diet, even though I eat very little I loos no weight, why is it one specialist says one thing and another says something else and your just left hanging without any hope

    does negative feedback still apply in cushing disease?

  • @mariaking81

    So..Im sure I have this. I can squeeze black stuff out of my nipples (for many years since breastfeeding (i'm sixty). I have a flat bum - really skinny legs and look like a barrel on sticks.. Im sure it was a pituitary tumour my Mam had removed towards the end of her life. From what I have read and wached keto diet works for this? What can I expect to happen please ?

    If metabolism increases then why does the patient put on weight?

  • @Traditional_Foods_Across_World

    Why cant we check the cortisol level directly in blood to know about cushing syndrome

    • @ZeroToFinals
      @ZeroToFinals  Před 4 lety +3

      Great question. Cortisol fluctuates throughout the day, so a single reading is meaningless because we don’t know whether it is high or low due to disease, or due to natural fluctuations.

    Patient has abdominal and underarm striae, hair loss, weight gain, small buffalo hump. I suspect Cushing's, but can't get PCP to test him or send to endocrinologist. What to do?

      I have Cushing's Disease. I have had two pituitary adenomas removed. May I ask the reason why your doctor will not test? You need an endocrinologist.

    • @Rollwithit699
      @Rollwithit699 Před 4 lety +2

      @@heatherpaddock6383 I get the definite impression they think I'm over reacting or watching too much CZcams. "Cushing's is very rare," I'm told. "Yes, I know this, but can't we rule it out?" It's making me crazy.

    • @heatherpaddock6383
      @heatherpaddock6383 Před 4 lety +3

      @@Rollwithit699 You are not overreacting! These days if you don't find a good doctor you have to do the homework yourself and figure out what's the closest thing it's causing your symptoms. Not to get medication to stop your symptoms, but get down to the root cause of what is happening to you and make it stop so you can get better and go on with your life. Don't let people make you feel like you're going crazy! Please do not give up! Cushing's disease is a killer. If you are willing to pay for these tests your doctor should give you these tests and if he's not willing to you need to find another doctor. Check with your insurance and see if you have to have a referral from your PCP, if not let me know and I will help you find an endocrinologist in your area.

    I know this is very petty but the letter "h" should be pronounced "a-che" the letter "h" is itself completely silent. The incorrect pronunciation is "hay-che"! Otherwise, great videos!
