The Specialized Tarmac SL8 will probably win the most pro races, but which bike do you think will actually be 2024’s best?
It is the rider really. Tdf winners not on spez
It’s not about the bike, you’d think you realise that by now…….
The new Defy looks like a great option for most people. Plenty of price options in the range.
Proprietary components ??
@@daniels.2720 Yeah, bugs me a bit. Partial to hookless rims (I am not a light rider), don't want to swap wheelsets after byuing a brand new bike. One the other hand - their own components is what allows them to keep the price low(ish).
The Bianchi is truly stunning !!!
Bianchi specialisma!! Petros from Greece 🇬🇷
Really looking forward to the Bianchi Specialissima, one of my favorite. brands and the bike looks AMAZING!
The Specialissima reinstates my faith in Bianchi. I was conviced that Bianchi was unable to make an ugly bike, then last year they introduced the new Oltre, a bike so ugly it makes me physically sick to look at it, even more hideous than any carbon Pinarello ever. The new Specialissima can't hold a candle to its predecessor's beauty but it is a good-looking road bike worthy to bear the Bianchi name.
The predecessor rim version is the most classically gorgeous Bianchi @@einundsiebenziger5488
The defy is the bike I've been waiting for- definitely buying this. I don't want gimmicks, just a simple, light. robust bike.
I see this mentioned all the time, that this bike or these wheels are faster up to an 6% or 8% climb. I this case you are quoting Bianchi, but nevertheless.
Really, the change over point between light weight vs aero frame/wheels needs to be stated in terms of speed. My speed up a 6% climb is way slower than a worldtour pro. In fact, I'm so slow it doesn't really matter which I choose. 😂
I'm more into aero bikes, but some of these climbing bikes look very nice.
I like the Bianchi Specialissima and BMC, although the Van Rysel RCR is growing on me.
The Bianchi looks really nice. I have a Wilier filante SL on order and am really looking forward to seeing how it fares against my current Scott Addict.
I don't know about the Van Rysel RCR in itself, but for sure I appreciate seeing 3rd party wheels instead of in-house Roval ones on a bike costing more than 10 grand...
Roval rapids are probably one of the best wheels… def. no need for 3rd party wheels.
I would still like a 25 year old Specialissima. You know which one.
I'm liking the look of the new Ribble titanium all road model unveiled at Rouleur Live recently.
2024 Look 795 blade rs?
I am leaning towards staying with an older style bike with cables. It is easier to maintain and more fun as a hobby. I really like wireless shifting, but you don't have to charge old school cables. The integrated bars don't appeal to me.
Why no mention of the Look 795 Blade? Imo, the best looking new bike so far… at least in pics.
He didn’t mention my Apollo bike from Halfords either
Absolutely amazing the Bianchi Specialissima!
The Defy is No. 1 or 2 on my birthday present for me list for next year.
Revolt on mine
No mention of the new Look Blade RS 😔
...maybe Bikeradar isn't paid to do so...
I don’t want to like the Bianchi… but I kind of do ❤😂
Scott Foil Pro - Most comfortable all day aero bike I have owned. Better than Giant Propel or TCR by far. Never liked the Scott until i actually owned one. Very underated in the pubic forums and vloggers channels
What have they done to the Specialissima?? Specialized looks like Specialized. The Giant looks quite nice.
I just Bought a Scott Addict 20 with Shimano 105 Di2.... They say that it's a Endurance bike, But it feels a LOT more like an Aero bike...... I will say that it climbs up hills VERY well....
good choices save the van Rysel being included
Why re. Van Rysel?
gonna buy the Bianchi Specialissima 2023 version just now. prefer the black paint and style over the 2024 version. even when I feel the price dropped for the 2024 version.
Pearson Shift areo bike - Dura Ace - power meter - 50 deep carbon wheels - full internal cable routing - T47 BB - 32mm tyre clearance - £8000 - job done!!!!
Skip the powermeter, another 1000 £ saved. And nobody needs tyres wider than 28 mm on a road bike.
BMC!
i think the bianchi looks kinda dope
Time is likely going to launch a redesigned Skylon in 2024. That's the bike for me.
And a new Time endurance model has been hinted by Paul at Mapdec
I am fine with my Dare VSRu
Jedes, solange es Alu, Titan oder Stahl ist ❤
Van Rysel looks very good to me, but how much will it be?! Around the same as the SL8 no doubt.
In Germany the Van Rysel with the New Force inkl. Powermeter and Zipp 404 Firecrest is Cheaper than the Sl8 Frame. 4800€ is a bargain.
I appreciate bikes like the Van Rysel, Ribble Ultra, and Canyon bikes because they probably do a lot to keep the crazy prices in check, though even these price conscious brand are not cheap.
Top of the line specs (on the Pro version) I've seen on Decathlon site is like 8000 Euro. That's their highest grade carbon, Sram Red + power meter, Zipp 454 SW wheelset. As the gentleman above mentioned, you can have a "non-Pro" version (different lay-up) with Rival+power meter, 303S Zipps for half that price.
@@MichaelWilliams-iv6dj Question is how low can you (and would you/should you) go. I'd reckon that Decathlon can do a bunch of relatively crazy stuff price-wise because the rest of their products sales back them up. I've been shopping there for several years now, almost exclusively (cycling clothes, outdoor gear, tennis...etc).
I'm getting a Canyon SLX 8. I'm up grading Frome my trek emonda. I'm not spending over 6K.
I love Bianchi 😻😻😻
Bianchi ✅
Get a good second hand earlier version of the tarmac
I am more exited for the Cinelli Nemo Tig AllRoad and Gravel than I am of any of these actually.
Cause I already have a modern carbon aerobike that I am happy with.
So next bike will be a steel or titanium frame.
Bianchi is stunning. My choice.
Definitely NONE OF IT! 💯Those bikes are ridiculously EXPENSIVE!💯 Bike prices are TOO HIGH! 👎👎👎
The highest end bikes have only gone up around 10 percent in the last 10 years, depending on company. Your arrogance precedes you. Inflation has gone up way more than 10%, hasn't it? You want a pro bike for not a premium price, is what you want. Thats not how it works. If everyone could afford them, that's not very premium, don't you think?
Indeed, compared to motorcycles, which are infinitely more complex, premium bicycles are ludicrously priced. Even top level bikes should be less than $3k.
@TheRealSnakePlisken ok. No. 3k? You definitely fail to understand anything about bikes. I love people and I love bikes and I love people on bikes, but you are the type of people who do no good in the sport. None. If a top end road bike should only cost 3k, then if we are going to take those same margin percentages, a top car, with ALL the tricks and gadgets, even from a brand like Keonigsegg, should only cost around 300k. But no.... thats about where those START. You have no idea whatsoever about what you are talking about. Premium is not supposed to be attainable by everyone, otherwise it wouldn't be premium, and wouldn't be pushing limits of innovation. That's what premium means. That's why cheap Chinese brands, although affordable, are NOT premium. You can't have cheap and premium at the same time, it doesn't work like that.
@@TheRealSnakePliskentell me you know nothing about bikes without telling me…
Stop complaining and start to earn more money
Cannondale SuperSix Evo the best
Rcr looks like a wilier cento
For the price of some of these top 5 road bikes, you could have 2 Aeroads.
Or two Royal Enfield Himalayans to take you around the world….twice.
Tarmac SL8 is #1 on my list
I think you have sold your soul to Specialized, that's what I think
Pinarello F-totally the best in my humble opinion.
Caledonia 5
Cervelo Caledonia 5
It’s faster than the Venge at 45 kph. Who on gods green earth does 45 kph, unless it’s downhill?
My friend does, according to him. He never rides, thinks cyclists are a menace but he assures me when he rides his wifes 25kg bike he cruises around at 45 kph very easily.
any decent group ride
During a race you easily go over 45kph
You do realize that when two bikes, or any vehicles, go the same speed that none of them can't be any faster than the other? A bike company claiming that "our bike is faster than their bike at x speed" should immediately fire its marketing department of go out of business.
"...to make the SL8 16.6s faster than the Venge at 45km/h"
What? Is 45km/h on a SL8 faster than 45km/h on other bikes? Does that ugly headtube somehow bend spacetime itself?
Look 795 Blade RS...total miss
It is important that we all say publicly which bike we ride and which we will buy. Everyone should know it and everyone should see it. We define ourselves by what we have and what we can afford. It s not about what the best bike in 2024 will be. It s just a fair of vanities.
Hence the reason for the ridiculous pricing. Nothing more than a collection of assembly line parts, interchangeable and replaceable, with limited engineering advancements and minimal increments in improvement on age old function and design. Absurd.
Giant every time.
Van Rysel or Bianchi. If anyone is giving one away I ride an XL!
Tarmac every day…all day. I got the bike and it is perfect.
8500 dollars for a bike?
You cannot be X seconds quicker at Y speed.
Speed s a function of time! If two bikes are doing the same speed then they could ver the same distance in the same time!
I will keep saying this until the Cycling media calls out the marketing rubbish.
Correct. Be a loser in math/physics, get a job in marketing. And even if they claim "use this bike to ride 40 kph for an hour and you'll save X Watts over that bike", people who can go 40 kph on a bike for an hour do not need to buy their bikes, but have them supplied by sponsors.
I'm happy with my scott addict....not need to splash more just for hobby
So tired of Specialized. I wouldn't even want it if i got it for free....
I'd take it for free, immediately sell it right after, get an actually good-looking bike and still have a couple quid left to go on a nice cycling holiday.
"Best bikes" kkkk. The best bike is the one mounted by the best ryder
Anything you’ve missed? Yep. The customers. Pretty fundamental to most folks. 🙄🤦♂️ Forget the weight, watts saved, drag reduction, fancy pics and marketing schticktt. Get real for real people. FFS
Think bike manufacturers are in for a shock, times are everything over priced people can't afford these bikes , that cost similarly to a car I'm sorry but it is ridiculous and yes I know I can get bikes cheaper but they are tanks, best best is buying second hand 3 years old
You are spot on. Price for product is irrational. Paying for the art…and bling.
Got no sympathy with the current difficulty some of the top bike brands are having - they’ve only got themselves to blame.
Jeaaaaa no
All Taiwanese?
These bikes arent looking wow might be because of the dull colours
You lost me at Tarmac SL8....... for fuck sake. Why everyone licking special salad so hard.. the bikes nothing special and not worth the extra over other brands.
It’s not even that aero, with seemingly bad separation. The fact that this is claimed to be “one of the fastest on the flat” is just pure marketing bs. If that is Aero, then does the aero-bikes have negative drag… FFS
ride it and you'll change your mind
@@maxhr1964 I’ve ridden my fair share of bikes, aero bullshit claims work at 45km/h.. how often you pushing that pal? These bikes ride like all other bikes. Upgrade gp5000s tr and you can’t feel a difference, just like 105,ultegra or DA. Same gimmick marketing bs.
I'm a sub 52 40K TTer National and World Class Cat 1 Master Racer of over 35 years! I've visited and tested in the low-speed wind tunnel 6 times. I did a 10 mile interval today at lunch on my new Tarmac SL8 at 27.8 MPH. So I ride and race there very often.@@BikesKomsCRO
@@maxhr1964 SAGAN IS THAT YOU?!
I dont race so definetly would gor for Bianchi(pure bike porn) Specialized in my opinion have the most boring aesthetic
All this bikes are for snob dentists😂😂😂
Agreed. Sucking up to the easy money.
None of them, especially the sucker works sl cash grab
You happy with what you're already riding?
All bikes look the same now. Its like all the suvs look the same on the road. Hahahaha
All way too expensive, and from other vids I have seen, they may have to give them away in years time.
Who cares? 99% people ride for fun NOT for racing. Too much bullshit in cycling world.
I have to agree; far too much performance orientated output from lots of cycling channels......Touring/slow cycling is under represented.
but we want to buy these bike to feel good an fast ...
@@Ghostina1 If you need a bike to feel good then you have a problem 😉
You say this but i bet you look down towards someone who ride Walmart bikes
@@yukiko_5051 Not in the least!
When will bike manufacturers finally do away with those lowered seat stays? It has been proven over and over that they are not more aero, compliant, stiffer or lighter, they are just more ugly. Also, finally skip proprietary, oddly-shaped seatposts and nobody needs shitloads of tyre clearance on road bikes.
Right? None of these idiotic fashion trends have any benefit over the velocipede.
None. Because none of them is made by TIME.🤓
ugly, overpriced, heavy and full of proprietary standards - will watch them, but sure as hell will not buy them
The SL8 is ugly compared to the SL7, and the difference in weight and speed is negligible for the majority of people that will buy them. And whilst we are talking about ugly, that Bianchi is horrible 😑 😒
Meh. They all look the same
Bianchi is a dead brand already imo.
hibachi ruin the xr3 oltre now the speciliassima
