The ult bug is pretty annoying. It has happenned to me and also a few Xeraths I've versed
@@ActuallyGooseit’s definitely not reasonable that an auto attack queued before you press R will cancel it.
@ActuallyGoose I feel like it would make more sense that an ultimate ability would cancel out an auto attack, not the other way around, especially if you haven't attack clicked after pressing r 🤷♂️
I'm thinking it could be because you have auto-attack enabled (?) Someone check that. I know he's the best Xerath probably he checked but is a possibility
@@ActuallyGoose if it is indeed an auto attack flying that causes this interaction, his ult is the only channelling ability in the game that does that. It's silly, like saying that winding an autoattack cancels the channel of Jhin or Galio ult.
I think its about auto attack enabled. This bug didnt occur to me once, and I have this option disabled

Thru a combo of not being good under stress, and being a bit shellshocked at friends flaming me super hard, LoL is just too stressful to play, but I enjoy your personality and commentary and its fun to see this character i tried to play as do good when they were (historically for while i played) medium tier

With the new ult that rewards hitting multiple shots, does that increase the value of Rylai's for Xerath?
Xerath is still punished by the problem of artillery mages and Rylai not working great together since you are missing out on so much damage you kind of can't really fight back.
Having that said, I would imagine Rylai + new ulti could be a low elo stomper, specially great against immobile juggernauts that mages can't really kill or defend towers against.

I don't play LoL but I used to back in the day (I remember Vi and Zac being brand new champs). Got out of it because I ended up starting a family and couldn't devote a lot of time to the game. I enjoy the channel because it's a way to enjoy the game without dealing with the frustration of actually playing it.
I stumbled on your videos and was like, hey, I should play it again ,haven't played that in a few years! Played a handful of games and decided, know what, I think I'll leave it to Zwag

I do not have that Ult bug on Xerath. Maybe it's connected to having Smart-Cast on your ultimate? Maybe try switching that to the opposite setting of whatever you have right now
I'm going to keep asking, even if it's annoying. Can you try a tank + CDR Lissandra build? Something that lets your keep chaining all your CC while in the middle of your opponents.

i play quiet a bit of xerath myself, and i have turned off auto attack in the options, and i never got the bug with the insta cancel ult.
Hey Zwag, I have similar issues with that bug. I think that it cancels when you get hit or something though. Because whenever I'm no where near anyone It always works but as soon as I ult in the middle of battle it shuts off randomly. I'm not sure if that's true but it seems to be okay as long as I'm away from everything

Zwag, I think I know why the bug happens, you have the automatically attack on? Like if you stand still and don't click anything the game will AA for you? Maybe it's this
PS: if you pay attention the first it's a little skill shot that's do the extra damage and you get the gold based on that, since you kill them instantly the skill shot don't go off and don't do the extra damage, so you don't get the extra money

I am liking the Xerath Ult buff. You have less damage for landing a single shot when compared to landing only one shot before. You break even at two shots. It is a bit stronger landing three now than landing all three before. And landing four at rank 1 is just ridiculous as it is all extra damage that you couldn't get to before.

I'm pretty sure what you are experiencing with your ult is not a bug any kind of burning or DOT would cancel your ultimate
No you can take dmg during ult as long as you don't get cc'd
