Only problem I've got with the video is one is 2.8mm and the other is 3.6mm how much does that affect

Great video ! Question: How come the camera switches to black / white at night ? This is the 'AS-LED' version, shouldn't it stay in color mode ? Or can you configure it ?

Hello Piotr great videos samples , I noticed that you have tested several dahua cameras. I want set up some cameras at my home. I want to be able to see a car’s license plate or even the drivers face. I can set the cameras either above the sidewalk or on the second floor balcony aprox 17 mts distance to the middle of the street.which cameras do you recommend ? I think having starlight would be better

The closer to a subject, the better. Use a camera with zoom to better frame after installation. For LPR I use HDW5831 fully zoomed in. With such setup I can easily read numbers from 30-40 meters. Seeing driver's face might be difficult due to windshield reflections. You might want to use a polarizing filter (if there is any for CCTV) to reduce reflections. Also remember to use short exposures to avoid blurring.

@@wopi82 Hey Piotr, Great uploads i have been looking for an ultra low light security camera, i live on the edge of the forest and dont get much street light or when i turn my back yard lights off aswell for stargazing. Need to see with least light as possible 0.0001 lux under $200 USD
Is this camera good enough for low light?

@@BushMasterThermal No camera is good for almost total darkness. You will have to use some IR to see anything. Without it you won't be able to recognize any moving object. At this moment there are two Dahua cameras with best low light capabilities: HFW4239T-ASE and HFW8232E-ZE. There is also IPC-HF8835F, but for this one you'll have to buy additionaly lens and casing.

@@wopi82 Thanks for the update. IMX327 used in HFW4239T-ASE.
How does IMX 385 super starlight perform compared, would it give better low light performance with a much lower SNR1 number of .13 lx
SNR1 low light image quality performance
Also since HFW4239T is a year old
      released.
      ~1/3" IMX327 SNR1=0.18 lx vs
      1/2" (bigger sensor) IMX385 SNR1=0.14lx

I have that 5442 and can’t get my image to look like that. Care to share you settings? Thanks

You have basic parameters written at the bottom of this video. In some shots, there is a little bit less saturation and in some others there is WDR turned on at 50%. Night shot is set to BW mode. That's it.

@@crdjeep123 First shot - its about 20 feet to the back wheel of the orange car, 55 feet to the small tree in the middle, 70 feet to the licence plate of the car parked behind the tree, 370 feet to the thujas in the middle of the field and around 900 feet to the line of trees on the horizon.
