Us tall guys seem to always have to add mods to make it more comfortable. 😂 Good choice on your pick and you presented both well.
You and Eric are the ones I was thinking about for forwards. You gotta ride this thing when I see you. Thanks man!!
Just bought a low rider st, my first bike, ever!
Congratulations! That is awesome. You picked an exceptional motorcycle. Thank you for watching!
Don't need all the tech. How'd we ever enjoy riding without it? Just more junk to fail. Have a '23 Low Rider S - love it, even on long hauls. The ST is even better. As compared to the RG, ST lighter, more power, better handling, less expensive, better mileage, on and on. Put a 475 cam, breather kit, exhaust on the 117 and it's happy days for sure. Excellent video.
Hey there! Yes sir. I love my LRST. It is such a fantastic motorcycle. You are spot on...I really need to consider an upgraded cam. Excellent idea. Thank you. I appreciate your time very much and thank you for watching!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, as I feel this is a common comparison. I know it was either or for me. It’s nice to see an owner of both bikes give an honest review of both. I know I sometimes second guess purchasing my FXLRST, and not the road glide ST, but after riding it, I’m still always smiling.
I hear you Adam. Both ST bikes are fantastic but I love the LRST. Thanks for watching!!
LRST less weight, more power, more fun. 😂 Glad you are happy with both.
Pete!! I miss texting you guys. Be home soon to light you guys up! 😅😅
I'm 5'10" and I put the Tall Boy seat and the taller windscreen on. That and 15" rotors on the front are all I've done so far and like you I think that's all you need. Supper fun bike and fun channel. Thanks
Hey Mark. I’ve been thinking about the taller windshield. I might do that soon too. I appreciate your time and thank you for watching!
That Road Glide would give me everything I have in my SUV… however my FXLRST reminds me more of my ‘67 GTO I had back in ‘74. One’s a driver and the other a rider. My therapist said when I bought my Road King back in ‘07 I was “denying my inner child”, lol.
Hey Aspen! Great analogy. I like the way you think! Have a great day and thank you for watching!
Do the comparison now seeing as the 24 RG dropped and changed everything 😂
I've been on a few 24 RGs at this point. They are fantastic bikes and it would indeed be a touch choice. Thank you very much for watching!
Nicely put together and good review of both.
Thanks man. I appreciate that very much. Have a great day!!
I owned a 2005 low rider, yeah I know it’s not the same bike, but I did enjoy it. I now own a 23 RGspecial and I love it!! So comfortable and so enjoyable to ride. I’ve owned 6 different HD’s now and I have enjoyed them all! I will say this, I’ll probably stay on a RG from here on out, I’m excited to see the new CVO! Love your channel, keep them coming
Hey Travis. Me too. Now that I’m on a RG I’ll be staying for quite a while. Glad you love your bike and thank you very much watching! Have a great day…
I’m good with my old bike. Thanks for taking us along 😎👍
All that matters is that you’re happy with your bike. Take care and ride safe!!
Nice, I had a 2007 dyna low rider in my 30s, and thinking of getting the Low Rider ST after riding Ducti monsters for the past 10 years, getting older in my late 40s, going back to a chill ride might be what I need
Thanks for watching! At this point I love both bikes just about the same. Every time I ride one I think "I'm never ever getting rid of this bike"...that's the way it should be. Thank you so very much for watching and ride safe out there!
I chose the Low Rider ST for two simple reasons, weight and wind management. While I could feel more air passing the Low Rider ST fairing it was managed far better, my helmet was not bouncing around and oddly other noises were better managed. Weight which in turn meant it handled and rode far better. With a Road Glide or Street Glide I know I will have to replace the shocks to get a ride comparable to the Low Rider ST.
The only advantage I can give the Road Glide or Street Glide is the storage. However the Low Rider ST can easily be given great storage by installing an AdvanBlack chopped or razor top case and you still weigh far less than and tour model. I cannot list the stereo as an advantage simply because at highway speeds I am far better off with my Sena and iPhone with a twenty dollar blue tooth remote from Amazon
Oh, that 117 on a bike weighing nearly a hundred twenty pounds lighter is a hoot.
The Low Rider ST comes with traction control in addition to ABS though I am not sure if that is the equivalent to the traction control of the RDRS
Great comment and I appreciate your feedback and detailed information. Thank you for watching and ride safe!!
I cannot find anything anywhere which says my 22 LR ST has Traction control. Can anyone show me please?
Same
MY 2024 FXLRST HAS 50 MILES ON IT NOW. Best bike I ever owned in my lifetime. Cant wait for the next 50
That’s awesome man. Congratulations! The LRST is fantastic! If you’re not subscribed, please consider. I’m putting out LRST content on a consistent basis. Have a great day and go knock out those 50 miles!!
FXLRST fits my riding style, solo riding with a mixture city riding and highway riding.
Me too for the most part. I like to RG for those multi day trips. Thank you sir!
Last year, I bought a Low Rider S before the ST came out. I should have waited. The fairing and the storage would have been a difference maker and I probably would have kept the ST. I only had the S for about 3 months. I liked riding it, but it didn’t suit my riding style. However, I loved that light weight bike with the 117. After having that, I decided I’d have to update my big touring bike. I have the Stage 3, 122 in mine now. Due to the weight difference, it still wouldn’t keep up with the 117 on the lighter bike. However, it feels powerful enough that I have almost as much fun on it.
That 122 sounds like a sweet upgrade! So you know what I mean…that 117 in the LRST is just plain ol fast! Thanks for watching Jay. I appreciate your time friend!
@@TyFromTennessee It is fast. I had a Stage 1, 2 into 1 Bassani exhaust and a tune on the S I use to own. Man, it was fast. That was part of the reason I decided to get rid of it. I kept riding it like a wild man. I decided I needed to slow down a little. Plus, my back was hurting. Almost every ride I do is 100 miles or more. I found the S wasn’t comfortable on longer rides. So, I always wanted to ride my touring bike.
Both sweet bikes. But your road glide is bad ass. Wins by far. Having said that even a standard road glide would do it for me. Love both though.
Thanks Jim. I really love both motorcycles and I feel like I have the best of both worlds. Thanks for watching!
For me it's street Glide, or low Rider ST. Road Glide is a great bike. The shark nose fairing is just to big for me. I don't use the information system much. But I like the screen up closer
That’s cool Ray. The RG fairing did take some getting used to but I love it now. Thanks for your time today!
Thanks for sharing your perspectives Ty. Ive ridden the low rider st and my main negative was the mid controls...im sure i would get accustomed to them over time. Ride safe and enjoy. ✌️👊👍
Thanks friend! For the talker riders I’ve heard it can be a struggle. Thank you for watching!
Nice review keep up the good work Ty From Tennessee the St will be my starter bike
Hey Marcus! You will love it! It’s such a great motorcycle. Thank you for watching!
For longer distance, which one is better comfort everything
Hey there. It would have to be the Road Glide, BUT not my much at all. Thank you very much for watching!!
I have a low rider st and Love it, but Road glides are just as good, but in a different way, hopefully getting my first Road glide next year
I totally agree. Both bikes are excellent. It’s tough to pick my #1 these days. Thank you for watching!
At 6’ would it be a miserable ride from Louisiana to out west and back?I have a 03 vtxc 1800 and I just bring a bottle of Aleve with me lolAt 66 my buddie and I want to go for maybe 2weeks or so but when I get back it will be around town and short trips. Low rider st or heritage classic
Taller riders would for sure need the forward control kit. I appreciate your time today. Ride safe!!
The great thing - there isn't a wrong answer to this question!
You know dats right! Thanks Toby. Hope you have a great day!!
Both great bikes. I feel the Road Glide would be better for me for longer rides. Plus I am 6'3"
That’s probably true. Both are excellent for long rides too! Thank you for watching!
Bro I'm so tempted to trade in my 2019 FXLR for an FXLRST. I love that ST new design fairing and the upgraded engine! My Low rider has the 107. It's enough power for my riding style. But that 117 a beast and I'd love to own a bike with it!
However, the main thing keeping me from trading in is the fact that my FXLR is paid off. I wish they'd offer a retro-fit kit for that fairing on previous M8 Low Riders
Hey Joseph. A paid off bike is something to be cherished for sure. I really love my LRST. What a great bike! Thanks for watching!!
Nice comparison, and pleasantly surprised you disclosed your favorite. Wondering if you notice any power sap from the counterbalancing on the softail motor. In 2021, I bought a Heritage Softail 114; didn’t like the throttle response and returned it for (another) Street Glide. My bad for ordering a bike in winter without a test drive. I want/need to go ride a Low Rider ST, both very cool bikes you have👍
Hey there. Both bikes really are incredible! I haven’t noticed any power decrease and the 117 on the LRST will move! Thank you very much for watching!
I’ve ridden a RG with the SE 131 and it does make a difference in the performance of the motor low end and top
Low Rider ST
Yes. For sure!
Thanks for making this informative and helpful review video
You are very welcome. I appreciate your time and thank you for watching!
Being a tall boy, I need to go with the dresser. Daddy long legs saddle helps a bit. I can't be getting taller, but the newer HDs sure seem like they're getting smaller. LOL
You can’t go wrong with either bike. The Road Glide is such a comfortable motorcycle. Thank you for watching!
Thanks for the info and thoughts. These are two of the three types I'm really interested in (SG is the other). I'm 6'3 1/2" and 260lbs. I like the LRST but seems like I would need extentions for the handlebars and feet positions. I'll have to keep doing my homework on the RG and SG. Thanks!
Agreed. Being a taller person you will probably need forward controls and a different seat for the LRST. It's such an awesome motorcycle. Thank you for watching!
Ty do you think the Low Rider ST could be a only bike. I currently ride a Road Glide but was thinking of down sizing, what are you thoughts…
Hey Peter. The LRST could absolutely be an only bike. It’s perfect for me that’s for sure. Thanks for watching!
Clearly, you're the winner brother 😎
Hahahha! You’re right about that Louis! Thanks for your time today!
Ty, just started watching your channel. Great content, keep up the great job.
Thank you so very much! Welcome to the channel. My wife and I just moved and we are in the process of getting unpacked and such. New videos coming out soon!
👍. Very nice review. Apparently, less is more. The basis of the Italian kitchen 😉.
Thanks Hennie! Have a great day!!
Great point for sure buddy
Thanks Jeff. This was a fun video to put together. Thank you for watching!
Crazy to think only 6to7 thousand different between the 2 but I guess if ST had 114 also would be alot cheaper 🤔
That’s true. The 117 really is perfect for the LRST. Thank you for watching!
@@TyFromTennessee Have to chattanooga boy also 👍
I have a friend who bought the st. Had a stage 2 put in it. Need less to say.... Its a Rocket!
A stage 2 on that bike just sounds awesome. Thank you for watching!
I’m interested in hearing your opinion on the new CVOs. Do you feel slighted having bought the anniversary model? 121?
Hey there! I like the new CVO models and I’m excited to see what H-D will have to offer soon. I won’t be getting one, but I don’t feel slighted at all. There’s always going to be something bigger and better out there. Love both my bikes! I appreciate your time and thank you for watching!
What about lighting? I heard some complaints about the lrst
I changed out the stick headlight for the LP4. The stick headlight had a ring that held it in place and it kept popping off. It really is an awesome motorcycle. Thank you for watching!
I love the color of the 120th anniversary Road Glide , but I’ve been looking at the Lowrider ST for my next bike . I’ve got a 31” inseam , so I’m sure I’m going to need the forward controls put on …
Good video Ty !
Thank you sir. Both bikes are awesome and I really enjoy both of them. Thank you for watching!
Ole Tybert! Your eat up son
I know Lloyd! Hahaha. Good to hear from you.
How bad is the vibration on the low rider compared to the road glide?
Not bad at all. I appreciate your time and thank you for watching!
I would like you to try the new 10 inch klock werks?? Any chance sir??
Thanks Mike. I appreciate that, but right now I am satisficed with what I have for wind screens on both bikes. Maybe some other time in the future. Thank you very much for watching!
I'm confused. You said the Road Glide is comfortable straight from the factory? So here's my question for you. You had a full LEGENDS SUSPENSION on your last CVO street glide right? Are you telling me and other's watching this video that their suspension is no better than stock suspension? Haha I get it you want to be positive about the whole situation but let's be real. If the suspension is garbage, it's garbage.
I don’t believe the stock suspension is garbage but Legend is far superior for sure. I enjoyed the upgraded suspension on my CVO but it will be a while if I decide to go that way again. I hope that answers your question and thank you for watching!
What Riser height on the Lowrider ST mate ?
Oh just saw you description 6,5 ! thx
Great! Let me know if I can provide more information!! Thanks for watching!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thank you very much sir. I appreciate your time.
Does the RGS have RDRS and TPMS?
Yes sir. It sure does. Most of all the bells and whistles! Thanks for watching!
@@TyFromTennessee ahh, good deal. I haven’t had to use the cornering ABS yet. but I’ve heard it works well. I did use rain mode last week on my SGST. That seemed to work great. Sometimes change is good 👍🏻
I am 5’8” and absolutely love the LRST. I can flat foot it very nicely. The touring bikes feel heavy and uncomfortable to me.
Hi Roger. I understand what you mean. I love my bagger, but my Low Rider ST is just on another level. Thank you for watching!
Low rider is the confused bike. It's not a bagger. It's not a naked bike. It's the Elcomino of motorcycles. If I want a fairing I want music and bags. If I want a sporty bike that's not it.
That’s cool Terry. Whatever works for you. Thanks for watching!
FXLRST FTW. Good video. Take care.
Wow shocking!!!
👍👍 Thank you very much for watching!!
A tall guy on a Lowrider just looks out of place. The bike is made for the short guy.
….maybe not for a short guy but I would say average height. Someone on the talk side is probably going to need forwards. Thanks for watching!!
The inner fairing on the ST looks like cheap shit. Paint to match inner fairing is a must.
Paint to match would look awesome on the ST. Thanks for watching today!
TY get ready to trade in your 120th bike in after June 6th.
Are you talking about the new CVOs?! They are beautiful but I won’t be ordering one. 😅
