- These are my settings for both Gran Turismo Sport and Assetto Corsa Competizione for the Fanatec podium. Thank you to those of you who posted your settings. It gave me a good place to start. I did test these doing hotlaps and I was impressed with the results. Keep in mind all of us have different taste, but hopefully this will be a good place to start!

Any tips for button config for GTS? I cant figure out how to change from map/radar/fuel/brake bias etc, and then actually change the fuel map/brake bias mid race

There are so many opinions on what's best that it's difficult to ever be sure you're running the optimum set up. Ultimately as we've said before it all depends on what feels comfortable for each individual. Thanks for the update.
Demetri XXX Let me know! I’m curious if you like it. I tried your settings and did like them. I just prefer spring and damper off. I was consistently hitting lower lap times at Suzuka for my driving style.

Right then... On GTS I chose a GR3 911 on Nordshleife for the test. Your settings felt quite nice actually, I was surprised because I do prefer a heavier feel. It was light to the touch and I'm sure marries well with your lightness on the brake pedal and hence your general driving style. I could play like this but as I mentioned I prefer more intense feedback/ weight through the wheel. I'm only an A/S driver (Playstation ID Mastronship) so by no means an expert it's just how I prefer it.
The differences on set up on ACC however were much more pronounced. I chose the ferrari 488 at Spa. The FFB here felt significantly lighter (as expected from the variance in our settings). I felt like i could easily drive the track one handed with your settings. To me it almost felt like the dd1 was broken (obviously it wasn't it's just what I've been use to). I felt that the simness/ realism of the game had been taken away. Sure the fine details were still there, but barely. When I'm flat through Eau Rouge it feels like I'm hanging for dear life with my set up and I think helps to the overall immersion of the experience. Although I have to say I have dropped the FFB by 5 points to 50 since checking yours out... So thank you for that, you may have just saved me my rotator cuff! All the best mate and keep on enjoying.
Demetri XXX Yeah, I think these settings are primarily for GT Sport. I can’t play with heavy ffb because it hurts my shoulder a bit. You can feel everything that you need.
What are your settings for ACC? Including the in game settings? I’d like to compare that.

Thank you for the settings and the explanations. I'll plug them in as soon as I'm off work. Those are the two games I play the most, but F1 and Dirt make the list too so if you have any recommendations on those I'd love to hear them.
Outstanding! I've had the wheel for a week and this is the first time I've found any real speed. I knew there was something wrong when I could barely feed myself after 6 laps. I was beginning to question my manhood. Thanks for the assistance.

Daniel Kaplan No, I believe it’s only the clubsport rims that have this. My stock CSL elite rim didn’t have it.
I have just the nascar wheel with podium hub. How do i center the wheel and get to the tuning menu?
Mr. Coach Z. Hope you are still doing well and hope to see you streaming again one day soon. But do your thing. I have been using my own settings but not really fully understanding what they do. And that sounds really foolish. But it seemed to work. However, I think that this wheel compared to the TGT is FAR more complex and I keep wondering, as I play Gran Turismo Sport, am I using comparable settings. I can't help but wonder if base/wheel input can affect your performance in a game. Especially Gran Turismo. SO I finally decided to come and use your EXACT settings and give it a go. I have been noticing that the settings I HAVE been using could be what's causing my frustrations. Cars won't turn as easily as I"m noting the fast ghost in Daily races and there a lot more tire squeal (as you may not kills time in Gran Turismo) when I turn the wheel even before I get to 90 degrees. I thought it was the wheel rotation, but even when I changed that, it was still a problem, if not worse. SO now that I have paid attention to your explanation of the settings (which I didn't have before...meaning an explanation of what each setting did) I immediately noticed things as I was changing the settings along with you and I think I understand better now. As I said, I will try your EXACT settings, then eventually keep playing with it and fine-tune it for myself. Thanks for this. Too bad I waited so long to fully appreciate your explanations. That's why I call you Mr. Coach Z. I'm more of a driver, the tech stuff goes over my head, so you're my crew chief. If you ever saw Days of Thunder and Cole Trickle said, "I don't know anything about cars!" Well, that's basically me.....I'm just the driver. I understand a little bit, but not like naturals like yourself.

I just bought a Fanatec podium wheelbase with an f1 wheel about 2-3 months ago and I have noticed that I don’t seem to have quite a few of the options for tuning that you and others apparently do and on top of that I cannot access my advanced tuning menu as when I enter the tuning menu and then hold the tuning button down again for three seconds nothing happens and if I hold it longer it deletes all of my settings that I have for different games. If anyone could help me with this it would be much appreciated

Great Video! I heard that the podium is very complicated to set up. I currently own a CSL elite and looking to upgrade. Is the setup any different from csl ?
No, not really. Honestly, I thought it was easier than my csl elite. On the OLED display it tells you what all of the tuning settings mean. So it kind of saves you a step of researching each setting. So far it has been a great wheel.

Mr. Coach Z. Hope all is going well. Did you make any adjustments on your V3 peds on the brakes?? That turn dial.
I have yes. It made a big pretty difference as well. I’ve also updated these settings recently when I returned racing a couple days ago. I noticed that turning the dial to the left make the brake input react sooner with less of a dead zone. “Left” as in when you’re looking at the pedals. This will start to make the red go away.
@@Z28Gaming You're right that the brakes can really help your times. I went with 20 like you said and it's an absolute dream winding your way down the backside of Mt Panorama now. I have the Brake Performance kit to install when the cockpit arrives. I had it set to 60 and sitting on carpet ... shoeless ... lets just say i wasn't having that much fun. I'm still shoeless and on carpet for now.
Whoa.....Mr. Coach Z, I am noticing you have setting features in your base that I don't have. At work at this viewing, but yes, you have settings that my PS4 doesnt have. Mine is older, a preorder edition, so that may have something to do with it. This could explain the more expensive price also.
I'll have to wait til I get home, but I definitely noticed feature setting on your menu that I don't have.
Interpolation, MPS....those two immediately come to mind. I wonder if I'm missing out!
WRL_Podium_13 I think interpolation makes the forcefeedback feel a lot smoother. I would definitely try updating your base and see if that’s the issue. It must be an update.
@@Z28Gaming Yeah...I was just thinking it may be an update issue. Will check when I get home. But I switched over to the TGT and set a Top Ten on Race A last night. Dont know if its still there, though. I posted 8th last night....lol
WRL_Podium_13 You hit a better time on the T-GT? I’m surprised to hear that.
@@Z28Gaming No...I can't say that. I just hadn't used the TGT in a WHILE and the nephews have been with their mom a while so it was just sitting there. So I decided to use it. Especially since I DID get the load cells for it.
I'm just gonna use it probably until Friday then switch back. Besides, I like to give the Fanny a break. The TGT IS made for GT.....lol So NO....I didnt set a faster time on the TGT. It's just the time I set when I played GT Sport for this new Daily Races cycle....lol
When I go to ACC....Fanny all the way!!!

Is there a diff between running the DD1 in "Comp PS4" vs "PS4"? I have mine set on Comp PS4 but I dont know if thats correct. I'm playing ACC btw.

Hey Z! Hope all is well with you. I've been playing ACC lately on my PS5 but was thinking about trying GTS again (after several months off). I downloaded the latest firmware (wheel and even the V3 pedals had a recent update) and was wondering if you might share your current settings. I noticed you mentioned in another post that you have tweaked a few things and was hoping to get a good base setting to practice with.
What is the version number of the new firmware? Is it v400? Also, how does the firmware update feel? Any improvements?
Regarding the settings. You just gave me a video idea for the update. Let me download the recent firmware to see if I feel any changes and then mess around with the wheel settings and I’ll just post a quick video. My current settings might feel different for you since we’re on different firmware.
@@Z28Gaming Yeah I believe the latest is v402. Biggest change is LIN is now on by default and it feels really good in ACC but still not sure I want that feature on in that game. I went back and forth trying to decide. However, when I updated I blew away the setup I was using for GTS since I didn't think I would play it anytime soon but I miss it! There is also an update for the V3 pedals which you have to do separate from wheel which seemed to improve range detail and ties in better with BRF and trail braking.
@@drvegas8485 Basically my settings turn everything off. I like raw FFB. Not too smooth because I feel like that takes away from feeling tire flex, understeer, curbs, etc. It’s strange Lin would be on, but I can see how people would like it. To me it should be disabled because it limits the torque curve and basically makes everything “linear.” Personal preference I suppose. I’ll give it a test when I update the firmware.
I’m glad to hear they updated the pedals as well. I personally have felt BRF didn’t “do enough” for the V3 pedals. So we’ll see how it is. You have me curious lol.

Is this wheelbase competible with ps4? and witch one is it? top left stand Ps4 but on the site fanatec they say that non of the podiumwheel are competible with playstation
Yes, the podium dd1 for PlayStation is compatible with both ps4 & ps5. I’ve used it on both.

Hey, I have a question. Do you have some metallic rattle / noise in the rim or Quick release area when the wheel goes crazy after a crash?
arekdbz3 No definitely not. It’s completely solid and quiet. How high is the ffb and what are your settings? Also, what game?
@@Z28Gaming iRacing. Ffb at 75% and depending On The car 4-7 strenght ingame. Natural damper at 25%
arekdbz3 Try turning ffb down to around 40 and turning up ffb in iracing. Natural damper I would put lower to at least 10 unless you’re getting oscillation.

arekdbz3 Yeah, that will help. I know the Zring helps if you have flex in the wheel, or it rattles. Mine is completely solid though. I wonder why some people have that issue. Very strange that they’re different.

I have my SEN set to 18 I like a tight wheel that I don’t have to turn much I use 18 for every car every sim, I would try these but I have csl elite I didn’t know you could get a podium from Europe or I would have got o of those instead
Yeah, the podium is great. Any direct drive wheel is good. You can set degree of rotation to whatever is comfortable. I find hot lapping to be best around 55 or so. If your rotation is too low, then you can’t be as smooth and you’ll jerk the car around too much. Creating more tire wear, etc. That has been my experience.

Yeah, their was an update. Just hook up the DD1 to the PC and download the firmware. A few things changed for the better. The V3 pedals also had an update.

Using latest driver update on PS5 with Fanatec F1 wheel. Followed your settings everything is great but only problem is lot of grinding effect on steering like gears slipping , steering is not smooth. Anyone seen this ?

its about controller I have a problem,when I throttle with the trigger R2 the throttle is not that full its like having a pressure sensitivity you know what I meant?
Random Thougts Yeah, I think I know what you mean. Basically you use R2 and try to go full throttle, but the screen shows that your not all the way down?

Inky1877 Hoenstly, I think it’s because I’ve been doing a ton of test videos that are private behind the scenes. It’s stacking up and showing no videos. If you check now, it probably shows a few. I’m redoing my entire stream and setting up for the future

Actually, no. I don’t see that setting. It has a few extra that the csl elite doesn’t, but no dri specifically.
@@Z28Gaming I understand and since it’s a Direct Drive with high torque you would feel oversteer immediately right ?
I can’t really feel understeer in Assetto Corsa Competizione on PC with the CSL Elite and feeling the oversteer comes like a bit late. There is some delay.
If I could feel understeer clear and oversteer directer I could push the car to the limit cause I know what the car is doing since Force Feedback is the only main information source about the car.
That’s why I soon want to upgrade to Podium DD2.
@@bmwM3M5M6 That’s exactly right. A direct drive wheel allows you to feel understeer and oversteer sooner. This way you can push the car a little bit more. It’s a pretty big difference compared to a belt driven wheel. However, the CSL Elite is really good. I’ve never had a problem feeling understeer and oversteer. It’s just quicker with a DD.

PS. How much torque do you use on ACC ? Low medium or high torque
2 questions: I have a Fanatec CSL Elite F1 PS4 set. I know that a Podium Direct Drive is much better and direct and so on but is there an enormous difference between those 2 bases ? And PS5 is coming soon. Sony says that many of the PS4 games will be playable on PS5... Do you think that ACC is one of them that can run on PS5 ? I hope so and then that Kunos will update it to much better graphics and higher FPS. I’m enjoying ACC on standard PS4 even with just 30 FPS with sometimes stuttering and low graphics. I will be addicted if the graphics and FPS become high on PS5. Can’t afford a powerful gaming pc but PS5 is just 500 Euros for the next 7 years so I can live with that. Little detail: I’m Platinum ranked in ACC around 9,600 points. Gonna work my way to the max of 9,999 points 💯🧨
bmwM3M5M6 I do think the podium base is much better than the CSL Elite. However, in your situation I would stick with what you have. You seem very happy and it doesn’t make sense to upgrade at the moment. I enjoyed my CSL elite as well. Consider a direct drive as your next upgrade when the time is right. A new version could come out with ps5.
As far as compatibility. Sony has announced that PS4 games will be compatible with PS5. (99% of them) However, in order for better graphics and frame rate performance, I feel Kunos will have to update the game. It would need to be optimized on the ps5 hardware in order for us to see those results. I wouldn’t count on that. Kunos hasn’t updated much and I highly doubt they’ll do this. We have a better chance that they’ll re-release a ps5 version.
So basically you’ll be able to play ACC on PS5, but it’s won’t look much better outside of a more stable framerate.

Z28Gaming Glad you addressed this Z and happy to hear about backward compatibility for PS5- hoping GT Sport will run on it as well... would prefer to wait a bit before going right into new GT7 when it comes out although so tempting to get latest and greatest :). Also, relatively new to sim racing but have become huge enthusiast- tested the water with basic gear with TM 150 wheel and Playseat; looking to upgrade but not sure I’m ready both financially and experience wise to get a Fanatec DD wheel- any thoughts/recommendations?
Marc S I honestly think a great starting point would be a G27/G29, or a T300rs. Both of those wheels work great and you can go far using them. After that point, it’s not a “huge” difference getting something better like a csl elite, or a TGT. From here if you become really dedicated, I would invest the DD route.
Sensitivity: I noticed yours in the 2000s then to Auto. Mine goes to 1080, then to Auto.
I don't have FFB Linearity. No Natural Inertia. No Interpolation. No FFB Intensity.
I wonder if it has anything to do with updates that these featurea are not in my base. Hmmmm.
